It's great that the developers have worked through every single point of criticism from the reviewers and that they're offering the game to owners of the 2018 version completely free.
Even if the framerate is still not the greatest in the new version, its still miles above what the old version was able to put out - in total!
Honestly, if I'm playing a game on handheld devices like switch I don't mind framerate as long as it sits at a steady 25-30 fps as long as it doesn't look as abysmally bad as ark. I mean, I'm fine playing Morrowind with only a mod that doubles draw distance and the unofficial patch. I'm fine with those kinds of graphics, so I'm glad that ark on switch is getting an overhaul.

I even heard that the devs that rebuilt it went off a list of everyone’s complaints and worked on fixing it, they cared so much to listen to their fans which I love

Also, people say the Switch can’t handle this, Switch can’t handle that but if the studio puts the effort in ports can be great.

As a server owner and dedicated player for years! I'm absolutely impressed on what wild card has done for their fans! They keep to their word no matter how long it takes! Ark is a phenomenal survival games, with absolutely great mechanics

My only Ark survival experience has been on the switch it was one of the first games I ever bought for my switch and I would really like to have an up to Snuff version

I just hope they can fix the crashing. I never took on any of the bosses or tried breeding for mutations (though I got a blue turtle by accident) because the game would crash randomly if they were too many creatures in a general area. Still looking forward to this. Hope they release Cryopods and the Ragnarok map at some point.
You seriously think the game won’t crash when it crashes nonstop on my PlayStation 5? Wildcard is incompetent.
It's not so much the crashing itself that bugs me but the fact that you can't manually safe the game so everytime it crashes it deletes ~30 minutes of gameplay on Singleplayer.
The crashes are less annoying on official

I'm really excited for this! I hope with this new version they also keep your settings. I noticed that the Switch would always reset all my settings back to default whenever I turned it off. Trying to change all my rates again every time I turn it on was a major turn away for me (among the other issues mentioned)
I want to know why you kept playing the Switch version at all, there’s bad graphics and then there’s the screen being smeared with dog shit
@@NinBendo1 I didn't lol, I think I have a total of maybe 5 hours on it, which is because I was somewhere I only had my Switch and was extremely bored and needed to kill time. It sucked
@@spottyboi024 The other factor here is that you likely saw footage and went “Yep, I want to play the Switch version” and you actually spent money on it
@@NinBendo1 Actually I was at Gamestop one day and saw Ark on the Switch and I was like "Ark is on the Switch? That would be sick to be able to play Ark whenever and wherever I want, even in the car and stuff" and bought it there. I don't really have any regrets now since they are doing the major upgrade

We’ve got this on PS4 and tablet but I’ve been waiting for switch. Boyo doesn’t like me playing without him but that leaves me very restricted. Would really like Switch as I can play on my lunch break 😂 without getting caught out.
I just learned about this 4 months late., I was SO disappointed when I got ark on the switch as at the time it was my only console. I can't explain how please I am about this and I'm gonna redownload the game ASAP!!!!!

Hype is real, Ark is amazing.
Night time is broken, pitch black impossible to se anything... even with this new version... graphycal artifacts and water textures behave awkward... still what a massive improvement
Ofcourse the other settings are lower but the resolution in docked mode is litherly higher than base ps4 which in the higher graphics mode is only 720p
For replicating the graphics settings for pc of the switch version what settings would you say it would be for pc to repmicate the look? Would of you can play pretty decent as well on sane settings?

I did a test and mouse and keyboard work but the jump button doesn't work otherwise it's almost exactly like PC controls

Well to be fair to that dev, they had a Hella short development time allowed by the publisher
I have 2,6k hours on Ark (pc) and i remember of the jokes we used to make like "do you imagine Ark on Switch" *silence* "AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA" and when they announced i was like "WHAAAAT?!?!" And then I saw how it used to run and how it looked and i was "i would never buy it" but I have to admit this "remaster" is awesome! I still won't buy it because for me it's a pc game (joycon could never replace mouse and keyboard for this kind of games)

What I wanna know is are there plans to release some of unofficial maps that you can enjoy on consoles, such as Valguero, Ragnarok, Lost Island and the Fjordur? I don’t car eif it takes a while, I just hope we can get those maps on handheld, even if not every single one of them!
just looked at it it shows all the other maps just that they are "locked" so they probably are just polishing it with the engine but dude I'm excited.

Everyone needs to know , and game journalists the original ARK switch wasnt supposed to be released in the form it was , & WC screwed over the original co developers, Abtraction. This was a very early Alpha Build built by Abtraction, WC asked them to make one , but then WC forced it to be released by anouncing it too early once they saw the Early build.
..but anyways im glad its being able to be fully developed this time & i don't want to take away the talent this took & i don't it is..🤔, heck they basically worked on this from scratch! so thats a big deal still
but i wish it wasnt presented in a way as if this was a full intended game and what happens in order to get it on switch, yeah , this is only what happens when a game thats on switch is prevented from being properly worked on right from the start, and maybe oneday, we'll get the whole story about what exactly happened, maybe Wildcard will fess up, cuz they threw Abraction under the bus and just didnt want to pay them so they could fix it, Abrtaction said they wanted to fix it, and also if it was upto them, they would have held the game back. Wish i knew the reasoning behind why exactly WC didnt want to pay them to fix the game, did they not have the funds? all it would mean was more sales..idk..
They also kicked them off the team & also banned them from talking about the game, which is probably why a lot of people's questions on the game went unanswered by them since then.
I want to think WildCard learned from their mistakes now tho, and let these other guys do what they need to do cuz man it looks GREAT .

Anyways ... i rebought this game after yrs of holding onto it, and it was just out of nowhere i saw that they were giong to fix this finally, but i thought they just gave up on it & oneday just out of the blue i was thinking about it, wondering if it had any update by now, this was in 2022, even thinking about buying it again for the hell of it.., i dont know why lol. Anyways, so happy theyre going to fix it, and i was so worried i couldnt find it again but i managed to find it at the another local place that sells retro and hard to find games, it was sold out at my usual store. Anyways, better late than never thats my opinion! & 45 bucks Canadian nothing to me to spend again after so long..

Before the whole new update. I was annoyed how the game crashes in some instances. The graphics were shaudy and terrible, because the Unreal Engine, used in that game, wasn’t compatible with the switch. I rated that thing 1.0/5.0 before the update. I get how it had such a low rating before because of that

Texture severely dropped in resolution
Red Lighting Atrophy
No lighting model
Color was better in original version

well I have to admit I payed 70$ for this and i was actually impressed at how well it ran on my switch lite. but after thousands of hours of modded ARK on PC its hard to go back to vanilla lol

I have nms on pc and switch, and how weird it sounds i love the switch version it just a nice casual game to play on switch.
I dont miss the multiplayer and the switch version doesnt have those settlements you need to build up.(trading post and sentinal pillars are still in the switch version.
