Lou Gramm reacts to Rock Hall induction announcement

- Rochester native and iconic singer Lou Gramm of Foreigner will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The announcement was made during Sunday's episode of "American Idol." Other inductees include Lenny Kravitz, Sinéad O'Connor and Mariah Carey.
Gramm joined Good Day Rochester via Zoom to talk about joining the rock 'n' roll pantheon.
"It's quite an honor and it's been a long time coming," Gramm said. "I felt so good last night."
Gramm said he received congratulatory phone calls from his family and friends, but none from his one-time bandmates in Foreigner.
He says he expects Foreigner will perform two songs at the induction ceremony.
"I know my mouth is going to be sore from smiling today," Gramm said.
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for October 19 in Cleveland, Ohio.

So proud of Lou and the band! I've been listing to some Foreigner and Lou solo songs and am always amazed at his range, expressiveness, and nuance he gives each performance. His voice has such character and beautiful tone. Gramm is one of the greatest rock vocalists ever. Lou jokes in in his autobiography that he there was a Foreigner ballad he sang on in the 90's that Mick was keen on it but he personally didn't like as much. So he he admits he sang it "kind of dull and boring." Yet it ended up not sounding dull and boring at all and as Lou wrote "The damn thing became a hit!" "I Don't Want To Live Without You" was the song. So you're telling us Lou you went for a bunt and smashed a grand slam? Haha.. What a legend!

I do hope that is "does" work out on stage; we have all heard about some of the "Quietness" between Gramm & Jones over the past couple or so years, since their short reunion vignette; Gramm stating that he had never heard from Jones since those few reunion shows. I hope the two gentlemen can come to good terms, ONE LAST TIME, for the Hall Of Fame performance. Having Jones, Gramm, Wills, Elliott & Greenwood on stage again (the ORIGINAL formation of Foreigner) would be an honor. It's a great loss that both McDonald & Gigliardi, who have already passed, cannot share in this induction.

Lou had a tumor in his brain about the size of a baseball almost 30 years ago. So glad he is still around. Another should have been inducted years ago band. As far as the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It sucks. To me it is too opinionated and they go off character. It's fake like the main stream media.
For anyone who thinks Lou or Kelly and I repeat kelly also doesn't deserve this year's ago needs to rethink how they feel about music and this band. The original line up, and the band that carried the memory of the music years to come rightly deserve this honor. Of all the bands that have continued with new singers this one is the best by far. Even on their anniversary tour they allowed Lou to come up and sing several tracks with them, something bands are just to proud to do, Kiss didn't, Journey damn sure didnt. Say what you will kelly never tried to be Lou, he was just the right man for the job to carry on the music, and legacy that is Foreigner. Well deserved for all members involved.
