  • Uriah Ortiz, the owner of Guardian Safe & Lock, goes over rekeying a Master Lock hidden shackle padlock, also known as a "Hasp Lock" or "Puck Lock".
Puck Locks are common on commercial vehicles, like service vans, trucks, and RVs and other applications where the shackle of a padlock needs to be completely hidden to deter theft. Rekeying is a common procedure that locksmiths regularly do that essentially changes the key that works the lock by replacing the pins inside the locking mechanism.
While rekeying is commonly performed on homes and businesses, most people are unaware that there are padlocks that can be rekeyed, such as this Master Lock hidden shackle padlock.

You mentioned the pins are smaller then normal, is there anything you can do to increase the pick resistance of these puck locks? Like security pins, or threading? Also as others have said, great video, informative and quick to the point. Thanks!

Kevin Koepke No problem! Happy Easter! We had another three videos recorded but they were corrupt so we have to redo them. Also we will do a few with a close up so you can see them better. - Uriah
