Nike ads on tv christiano ronaldo is doing today, r9 was doing it in the 90s 'pioneer' lifetime nike sponsorship.. played for both big rivals in football in Spain Barcelona and Real Madrid, in Italy for Inter Milan and AC Milan . He used to burn Italian defenders some of which a legends of the game likes of Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Gattuso to name a few during that time the Italian league was considered the most defensive league in the world. In a documentary when Ronaldinho first made the brazil national team he said he's real name is Ronaldo but since ronaldo was already a star on the team he chose to use Ronaldinho as he's name which translates to 'little ronaldo'

A good video of him to react is R9 Living legend. He was football face in late 90's until middle 2000's the best striker i've ever seen alongside Messi
R9 is considered by many to be the GREATEST STRIKER OF ALL TIME , he was a complete player! Incredible passes, disconcerting dribbling, keen vision of the game and the finishing of a true attacker. He is the player who has the highest number of goals dribbling past the goalkeeper, the highest number of successful dribbles in a season. Unfortunately, R9 doesn't have a large number of games like a retired gamer usually has. He suffered for many years with serious injuries, situations in which he spent 1 or 2 seasons without playing (and this happened more than once or twice), for example, before the 2002 World Cup, Ronaldo spent practically 20 months without play, being away for 5 months due to an injury and soon after that injury a new one would come that kept him away from the field for 15 months. Even though he was able to return a few months before the World Cup, he was called up with doubts about his conditioning. Result: 2002 World Cup champion and top scorer in the competition, receiving the award for best player in the world in 2002. He already had two other trophies for best player in the world, in 1996 and 1997. In 2006, he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which caused his fattening.
Yup, He's won the world cup twice! He's the youngest player ever to win the Ballon D'or (award for the best player in the world for a specific year) at age 20. For reference, Messi won his first ballon d'or at age 22, C.Ronaldo did it at 23. You're right, he deserves to be in the GOAT conversations (which he is to some extent) but the one thing that derailed his career was injuries. The first half of his career was unreal, everyone thought he was the best player they're ever seen but the latter half was plagued with injuries and he had to retire early. You're also right, there are tons of talented players but the reason why most people consider Messi and Cristiano the goats is because of their longevity. Most of the other players you've seen are obviously talented but they never had the longevity and consistency at the highest level that Messi and CR7 had/have. Really enjoying your goated reactions, you seem like a nice and genuine person and I'm glad to see how quick your channel has been growing. Keep it up! PS: you should react to Zidane tho, He's great.
Messi is not about longetivity, Messi at 23 was already being compared to pele and Maradona, at 24 You can hear commentary saying maybe he is The goat.
After Pele and Maradona people weren’t getting called GOATS until Messi. It takes a lot more than just goals to get in the GOAT convo, no offense to CR7. R9 is amazing tho. After Messi, Pele & Maradona we can talk about R9. He’s the closest to that level. Sad he got so many injuries 😔
The award for the best player in the world was the fifa best player in the world award.. not the ballon d’or. He won’t the fifa best player award when he was like 20, whisky coming 2nd in ballon d’or that year. He then won the ballon d’or the next year.. when he was 21.
He was robbed of the ballon dor in 97 or 96 when he was still at barcelona could have been 3 well should have been more seeing in 98 - 2001 was his peak years but never saw much of him due to knee injury
thanks for this thoughtful message :') thats a sick fact, insane to be the youngest ever to win the ballon d'or. i like the perspective of longevity being a factor in the goat conversation, although its obviously out of the players contol if they get hurt! thanks for enjoying the reacts and the kind compliment :') 🩵
Phenomeno will always be the greatest player to ever play on pitch. There are very great legends like messi, cr7, zidane, dinho, etc, were absolutely dominating on pitch, but r9 is a step above every player on pitch. Messi has everything for a forward, but it doesnt mean he has to be the greatest to ever play on pitch imo. The excitement and unbelievable movements we rejoice a player make them better player on pitch which is purely due to their perfomance and talent they have, which they showed on pitch and the important thing is that the stats wont make a better player on pitch, because for example if a player scores highest goals in a game, then it doesn't mean that he is the greatest player on pitch, because the goals scored by that player may just scores all of them inside the box ( tap ins) , which makes him very good finisher and not best player on pitch. The talent, physical, stamina, etc. fenomeno had was unmatched. Thats why Nesta (one of the greatest defenders of all time) said that r9 was on other level compared to messi and cr7. Maldini, nesta, cannavaro, desailly, costacurta, thuram, ferdinand, stam were world class defenders, they even regarded r9 to be toughest player they have ever faced. R9 was already started dominating the world at 18 years of age! Unfortunately, the injuries killed his career that could have been the best player ever, the real goat. He didnt ruin his career, and had lack of discipline, but he was born to play football. No one can be fenomeno. Truely born different. Alien of the sport.
what that you have to remember about r9 is that from age 21 he suffered 3 years of serious knee problems. in 2002 after the world cup, coming to real madrid age 25, he was a long way of the player he has been prior. otherwise who knows where he's abilities and carrer go.
Not sure if you will read this comment I will make it short. If you make another Ronaldo video your viewers will appreciate it. Ronaldo story is amazing. I jump into the Barcelona season he was unstoppable. He didn’t on is own now players are accompany by good player. Ronaldo was the star and scorer 47 goals that season for Barcelona. Till this day R9 is the youngest ballon D’ro winner at age 21. Moving the inter he was phenomenal making a good season. That’s where he got the nickname the phenomenon. Going to World Cup 98 Ronaldo suffer convulsions prior the final. He wasn’t the Ronaldo everyone knew about on that final and Brazil lost to France 3-0 Back to Italy again Ronaldo suffers a new injury where he torn his whole ligament. Doctors told him that that there was only a 50% chance of playing football again. Everyone lost hope of him and maybe one year of preparation to the next World Cup. Brazil tries to look for other strickers and people lose hope on Ronaldo. Here is the greatest story in football history. Ronaldo it’s ready for Korea and Japan World Cup. I was 10 years old when I watch it. Ronaldo not only was the player of the tournament but also the top scorer. Scoring 2 goal in the finals and securing Brazil 5th World Cup championship. Against all the odds of not playing football again he did it. Sound like a movie!!!! Now to Madrid era Ronaldo secures his ballon 3rd D’ro! He could have had more but injuries stop him also he had for mor e competition the likes of ronaldinho, zidane, kaka, eto’o, canavarro, Buffon who was an untouchable goal keeper at the time. Tragedy strikes again I think it was in 2008 Ronaldo then torn his other ligament in his other knee. How is that even possible? Ronaldo decided he wants to play football still. To make things worse he was diagnose with a disease that makes him gained weight (hypothyroidism) still he manage to play football in his home country winning the league title and check this out being top scorer of the league too. By his achievement that year he could have gone to the World Cup again but his overweight didn’t allow him. He prove the world wrong 2 times. For me that makes him the greatest. Not sure if Messi or cr7 can win a World Cup with torn ligaments. Greatest story ever in my opinion.
Great reaction. The video you reacted to wasn't the best R9 highlight video out there, but it still highlighted some of his legendary skill. He was really a special talent...I believe he is still the youngest player to even won the Ballon d'Or (the worldwide MVP of football) at just 21 years old. He won 2 Ballon d'Ors.. The only thing that stopped Ronaldo #9 were horrible knee injuries. Btw, a couple of the older highlights footage in the video, I believe he was around 15 or 16 years old.
This guy was so good (the best I've seen) that one wouldn't even notice the absolute beasts of a players he's "ridiculing" in most of his highlights. For example, the goalie who looks visibly frustrated after that crazy free-kick is none other than a young Gianluigi Buffon. Ronaldo was just a freak of nature, O fenômeno.
4:48 Funny that you said that considering that move was invented by Ronaldo (Brazilian). It's originally called The Ronaldo's Dribble, now it's commonly known as the Step-Over 😁
I don't say this lightly, R9 is the best proper striker I've ever seen (Messi and CR7 are really wide forwards), I was a kid at the time his signature R9 football boots came out, I bugged the shit out of my mum to get me a pair 😂 I played for the kids team at the local youth centre (even if I was a defender/midfielder), I got them for Christmas...yes R9 won the 2002 world cup with Brazil, they're team especially their forward line was insane the 3 R's R9, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho
@itsbluereacts you knew going in that it was probably the best forward line in the tournament, Ronaldinho was still pretty young then, he was still good, but he hadn't fully blossomed yet, Rivaldo was a class player and R9 won the golden boot award for being the top scorer for the tournament, they also had Cafu and Roberto Carlos as wing backs who were both amazing, that Brazil team was very good
Have you noticed how most of the greatest players you reacted to are from Brazil? Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Neymar, Vini Jr., Roberto Carlos, and Pelé. Answering your question, Ronaldo (R9) on the Fifth World Cup for the Brazilian national team in 2002. He held the record of scoring more goals in a single WC.
He has a disease called hypothyroidism, and he couldn't use the medications because it was considered doping, that's why he was overweight, and he also had several knee injuries. Even with those problems, he is one of the best players of all time. His nickname is "The Phenomenon". Luis Nasario da Lima Ronaldo. Best regards from Costa Rica!
Super excited to watch the finale of the triple Tuesday upload here we go ❤❤❤❤ thanks for the triple content Cindy you a queen 👸 and super excited to watch R9
Before he started having kneeproblems he was more or less unstoppable. The pace the dribbles the way the ball was glued to his foot and his ability to score goals. To me he is the best there ever was. However as he had problems with injuries the peak wasnt as long as it could have been. Also Ronaldo was strong and wouldnt dive like lots of other fotballers. Before Ronaldo started having injuries it was like seeing a Ferrari face off against 21 station wagons he was that much better than everybody else.
The 90s were dominated by the 3 R's from Brazil.... Ronaldo, Romario & Rivaldo. All are World Cup winners. Try doing a reaction of Romario. He made the World Cup look like a practice match. Another good video is of Brazil 82. The 1982 team was considered the best team after the 1970 team. Though they unfortunately lost in the final to Italy.
There is a rumour that before 1998 World Cup final vs France in France, the chefs and people in hotel poisoned his food and that's why they stopped him from winning that World Cup. Of course he won the next one in 2002 where he had an amazing tournament.
Love that you finally did R9 the real ronaldo.. but someone recommend her a better video of R9... he did more than that.. the best striker in the world 'the phenomenon'

r9 the most naturally gifted footballer i have seen in my lifetime along with messi would of been up there with the mentioned had the injuries not killed his career. opposition coaches have said how they tried to cheat & get any advantage they could against him & it still didn't work
I feel like he didn't protect himself toward injuries, lots of moves exposed his knee, without talking about his metabolism, but yeah one of the greatest strikers of all time (if not the greatest)
The original Ronaldo (R9) was nicknamed "O Fenômeno" ('The Phenomenon') and made the Brazil national team at World Cup USA '94 at age 17 but was not fielded in that tournament... He made his World Cup debut in France '98 and shone as a striker... However, he suffered a seizure before the final against France. Ronaldo (Nazario) was medicated and put on the field and was clearly off... and Brazil lost to France w/ superstar Zenedine Zidane 0 - 3... He redeemed himself in World Cup 2002 in S. Korea/ Japan, winning the World Cup for Brazil w/ Ronaldinho on the team w/ a 2 - 0 victory against Germany (scoring twice in the final) and won the top scorer... He has won 2 Ballon d'ors (European league player of the year) He also won 2 Copa America titles for Brazil in 1997 and 1999... However, his club career was mixed... He suffered serious injuries and was sidelined in his career. Ronaldo (Nazario) played for PSV (in Netherlands)... Barcelona (Spain)... Inter Milan (Italy) ...Real Madrid (Spain)... AC Milan (Italy) He only won La Liga once w/ Real Madrid but won numerous competitions w/ each club. He retired in 2011 after suffering from string of injuries and struggled w/ mental health issues which required medication that set him back on the field. World Cup 2006 in Germany was memorable because Ronaldo (Nazario) and Ziidane of France faced off again (France eliminated Brazil)... and both Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) were featured in that competition... Portugal finished 4th w/ Cristiano Ronaldo on the team (Portugal's best finish since 1966) ... Italy won World Cup '06 beating France in a penalty shoot-out. R9 missed the 2010 World Cup... His club career was eclipsed by Cristiano Ronaldo but Ronaldo Nazario is still considered a legend in the game.
Just know that many many football enthusiasts refer to him as 'the original Ronaldo', and rightfully so. The other one's called 'Cristiano', or CR7, so that the audience knows which one they're refering to.
I mean he is not athletic as Cristiano, so he is not jumping 7ft on the air, but his round shape gave him a unique physiological advantage, a very unique game
@@Milasiumtad i love cristiano but not even maldini, cannavaro and nesta couldnt stop ronaldo physically, he was a beast, look ronaldo vs compostelana defenders fouling him and he never stop, he for sure was stronger, in tearms of complete athlete cristiano is better, i also have to say ronaldo was partying all day and had a problem with his weight
@@raulbejerano504 That's why I loved him cause his game although it looked flashy and had a swagger on it but if felt like it wasn't random like anything he did every exact movement he did it had an effect on the oppositions tactic, Messi took what I'm talking about into a higher level, Cristiano on the other hand was more of a player that knew how to hunt those random possibilities, that's why most of his goals seem normal and not made up progressive plays also that's an aspect of why people think Cristiano is not a playmaker
Damn, ngl the video was just "ok" it just had some clips from Inter pretty much, a bit of Real Madrid, Corinthias and PSV, but very little. Ronaldo at Barcelona. We need to revisit this, there is way too much that needs to be shown from him and the video barely had any of it
Interesting fact: there was another player, back in the day, his name was Roanldo also, but he decided to be called "Naldo" out of respect for Ronaldo "R9" the real Ronaldo!! By the way in this video we're supposed to appreciate the skill, not goals, if you want goals you should try this video: 100+ spectacular goals of Ronaldo (is not even a long video, don't worry): ruclips.net/video/qlnDONWbUOQ/видео.html
Please react to Ricardo Quaresma. You will be impressed, believe me. He's one of the most skilful player on the world and also Portuguese like his international teammate Cristiano Ronaldo
The best Ronaldo was his only season in Barcelona, which is most likely the best individual season of a player EVER, but for some reason whoever made the video jumped over that 🤦♂
you know back then sliding from behind your back is permissible, so striker has to be fast and strong and skillful. not like now. its because ronaldo injury of someone tackle him from behind makes fifa announce new rules its red card now if you tackle from your back. imagine striker back then, you cant compare with striker nowadays, even cristiano and messi will be nothing if they play back then.

R9 is the perfect centerfoward number "9" and one of the best of history. love your football contect, marry x-mas. from argentina
thank you so much!! merry christmas :)
In the mid 90s to early 2000s R9 was like michael jordan for football... it was injuries that cut his career short . 'The phenomenon' (O' FENOMENO)
so hes a legend!
@itsbluereacts best striker ever.. should check out 'legends talk about r9' shows what type of player he really was.
@@itsbluereacts
Oh sure definitely
@@itsbluereacts I hope you'd read my comment, sorry of it's too long btw
This particular player is rated by many legends as the GREATEST PLAYER TO EVER SET FOOT ON A FOOTBALL FIELD for too many reasons. They even rate him over Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Maradona.
He was the most complete player, he had it all, speed, acceleration, strength, physicality, shooting, passing, dribbling. It's rare to come across such a player nowadays. He also redefined the number 9 position in football.
This man by age 19 won the balon dor and is still the youngest player in history to ever win that trophy. He also faced italian legends in defence and the 1990s italian defending was something else, dirty mostly but it was savagery, they used to hit him just to stop him otherwise no one was able to stop him.
For instance, Cristiano Ronaldo faced 37 years old Maldini in 2005 and couldn't get a ball past him, while this Ronaldo R9 got past Maldini when Maldini was in his prime so that's how good he was.
But unfortunately, he wasn't made of steel cause he is a human being, after tons of savage dirty defending against him and getting hit on his legs more times than I count, his knee failed him and he didn't play football for 2 years yet after he recovered, he came back to win the world cup in 2002 but he wasn't the same anymore. His speed and explosive acceleration wasn't the same no more and he had a sickness due to which he gained weight and he lost passion cause he kept getting injured
Most of us football fans say that Ronaldo's knee couldn't stand the amount of talent he had and therefore it failed him
We also say that Messi is the greatest of all time in terms of longevity and talent/skills mastering
Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest goal scorer of all time
But Ronaldo Nazario ( commonly known as THE PHENOMENON) is the greatest raw talent that has ever been and ever will be.
That's why he is called the phenomenon
R9 scores about 450 goals in his career...about 150 goals with his left foot.
R9 goalkeepers nightmare
Always the Brazilians with the crazy dribbling and skill moves
im sayinggg those Braz boys are always so good
In 90's - 2000's, footballers had a flair. Nowadays, it's so mechanical.
This is real Ronaldo!
yes
Um dos melhores jogadores de todos os tempos... Ronaldo R9
Abraços amigos 🌹😊
He wasn’t the Ronaldo everyone knew about on that final and Brazil lost to France 3-0
Back to Italy again Ronaldo suffers a new injury where he torn his whole ligament.
R9 was even faster at running while dribbling the ball than running without it...
My favorite player of all time! He made me the happier kid in the world back in 2002
Best footballer of all time
This guy was so good (the best I've seen) that one wouldn't even notice the absolute beasts of a players he's "ridiculing" in most of his highlights. For example, the goalie who looks visibly frustrated after that crazy free-kick is none other than a young Gianluigi Buffon. Ronaldo was just a freak of nature, O fenômeno.
The announcers passion is so OP I love it 🥰
always!
@ facts
If this man didn’t have the injuries and had the determination he would of been the greatest player we had witnessed by a stretch
4:48 Funny that you said that considering that move was invented by Ronaldo (Brazilian). It's originally called The Ronaldo's Dribble, now it's commonly known as the Step-Over 😁
Ronaldo quando arrancava com a bola parecia um tanque de guerra, força e explosão absurda.
I don't say this lightly, R9 is the best proper striker I've ever seen (Messi and CR7 are really wide forwards), I was a kid at the time his signature R9 football boots came out, I bugged the shit out of my mum to get me a pair 😂 I played for the kids team at the local youth centre (even if I was a defender/midfielder), I got them for Christmas...yes R9 won the 2002 world cup with Brazil, they're team especially their forward line was insane the 3 R's R9, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho
ahhhh thats awesome, i bet that 3 stack was a blast to watch
He held the record of scoring more goals in a single WC.
i have noticed brazil players are insane.. 🔥

Finally you reacted to my favorite player. Dope video❤

Simplismente nasceu pra isso.
Though they unfortunately lost in the final to Italy.
keep in mind that mosrt of what he did he did it injured, with replaced knee caps...you can see he is very hesitent when he runs
He is the record holder of the goals in the world cup by 15 goals..
He was once but not anymore. Miroslav Klose, holds the record for total goals scored in. FIFA World Cup tournaments with 16 goals.
I like player's who play with their feet and don't use their hands to make space. 😊
There is a rumour that before 1998 World Cup final vs France in France, the chefs and people in hotel poisoned his food and that's why they stopped him from winning that World Cup.
Of course he won the next one in 2002 where he had an amazing tournament.
no way.. thatd be nuts

The real Ronaldo ☝🏼
r9 the most naturally gifted footballer i have seen in my lifetime along with messi would of been up there with the mentioned had the injuries not killed his career. opposition coaches have said how they tried to cheat & get any advantage they could against him & it still didn't work
You should see his passing compilation “Ronaldo phenomenon can’t pass”
I remember as a kid playing soccer, everyone wanted that goofy haircut R9 had back then
I feel like he didn't protect himself toward injuries, lots of moves exposed his knee, without talking about his metabolism, but yeah one of the greatest strikers of all time (if not the greatest)
You gotta see the goal against Compostela

Ronaldo was like the dribbling skills of Messi in the powerful body of Cristiano and even better
@@raulbejerano504
That's why I loved him cause his game although it looked flashy and had a swagger on it but if felt like it wasn't random like anything he did every exact movement he did it had an effect on the oppositions tactic, Messi took what I'm talking about into a higher level, Cristiano on the other hand was more of a player that knew how to hunt those random possibilities, that's why most of his goals seem normal and not made up progressive plays also that's an aspect of why people think Cristiano is not a playmaker
Damn, ngl the video was just "ok" it just had some clips from Inter pretty much, a bit of Real Madrid, Corinthias and PSV, but very little. Ronaldo at Barcelona. We need to revisit this, there is way too much that needs to be shown from him and the video barely had any of it
Watch when he was at barcelona and inter please, Prime R9

you know back then sliding from behind your back is permissible, so striker has to be fast and strong and skillful. not like now. its because ronaldo injury of someone tackle him from behind makes fifa announce new rules its red card now if you tackle from your back. imagine striker back then, you cant compare with striker nowadays, even cristiano and messi will be nothing if they play back then.
