The line about wishing you could "pause it somehow" absolutely gutted me; the unstoppable flow of time & all that's inevitably lost to it is such a painful thing. It's easy to get so overwhelmed by grief & fear that you forget to see the beauty in change, but this song is a great reminder to accept & even appreciate it. Autumn is always bittersweet for me too . The sad last surviving ash trees with their thin purple leaves drifting slowly back and forth as they fall. The center line yellow of spice bush and pink orange of sassafras shapes in the woods. Nature and Jesse teach us of the processes of time and life.
