- Hi all! A little while ago James from @DCCtrainautomation hooked me up with the YaMoRC upgrade for my DR5000! I figured why not show the process of fitting it!
This allows your DR5000 to work with WiThrottle handsets, or even your phone on the WiThrottle app for example!
A nifty piece of hardware for those lovers of the Digikeijs system.
Cheers for watching,
Eric.

Really excellent video Eric. Always happy when I see that you have posted a new video...
@@davidportch8837 cheers mate hopefully it helps someone out there 👍
Excellent video 👏 👏👏
@@tommartin5 thanks
I’m going to take the plunge having seen your excellent video! Do you know if Digijkeys components like track detectors etc work with Yamorc?
That was harder and easier in the end than I thought it would be. Great tutorial video, Jersey Bill
@@JerseyBill-x9r thanks Bill :)
Glad you got it working. Did mine as I might be using some more Yamorc products, quite easy. I use the Z21 app on an ipad.
@@staffordstationngauge8359 yeah i often use the Z21 app for layout control also, though locos i like to have a ‘proper’ handset with physical buttons ideally
From the electronics hobby point of view, the excitement is that the YD9401 is an Espressif ESP32, cheap system on chip which you can find a vast number of videos about on RUclips. Theme is that people doing model railway kit can't build their own processors etc. Interesting to see what they use - close up would help.
DCC-EX is already doing this...
Absolutely brilliant Eric! Great bit of kit 😃👍
@@darrelldeltic807 nice one mate 👌🏼
Nice one Eric...didn't have a clue what you were on about..lol but it was well explained for everyone else. All the best.
@@2010ditta i dont have a clue either! 😂
I upgraded my DR5000 a year ago. It’s a bold step to take the lid off a control centre and change the key component, but using the online help and having a clear head it became a straightforward procedure. I use the Roco Z21 App with a large iPad (layout and locos) and an iPhone (locos). No need to remember loco, point or signal numbers nor loco functions. It is all done with pictures, symbols or layout diagram (in Siemens format). Although designed for European layouts, it works well for the UK too.
@@jolbates2823 yep the Z21 system can be quite handy, though i prefer to use it just for controlling points/signals rather than the trains.
My trains all use an ESU Loksound decoder and as i have a Lokprogrammer i set them all up the same where possible by moving sound slots around, so things like the brake are always on the same button for example
Nice one Eric
Hi Eric what happens at exhibitions if the wifi does not work?
caroline
@@carolinecleaveley-q1r id be stuffed! 😂
For home use il use a wireless handset but shows likely going to use wired controllers now
thanks Eric.
14:24 speaking of American what happened to your NYC sub way train
@@Londontransitduck still not built that 😬
@UndergroundEric oh its a kit
Building *another* layout? You're worse than me!
@@JamesPetts wanted something smaller that i can easily chuck in the van and bring along to a show, it also bolts into the main layout however by removing the backscene 🤣 cant help myself
