    An interesting and well-made video. You have gone over all the salient points. As to what videos to make, given that you have invested in this equipment, I would make a video featuring how to programme a timetabled running session with train announcements! Thanks for uploading.

    Thank you very much Geoff for your informative video which I wish I had seen a week ago. I have had a DR5000 for a few years now and in the past week have successfully upgraded my unit to a YaMoRC 7001. I could not get my DR5000 (with the latest firmware) to work with TrainController despite using the correct protocols on both systems. I am hoping this upgrade will solve the problem, if not now but hopefully in the future.

      Hi Les , good to hear from you . yes myself and some of my club members have had trouble with their DR5000 connections from time to time be it wifi or USB or protocols . ive had to reset many times back to factory settings on the DR5000 to get it to work again.. the YaMoRC jussimply connected up with no issue today

    • @leswaters2275
      @leswaters2275 Год назад +1

      Well that is very encouraging to hear of your success. I knew others were having problems but blamed myself all the same. As I also wanted to use LocoNet occupation detectors I started to get worried as I am not terribly well acquainted with the various protocols. Having said that I had no problems at all connecting my old ESU EcOS to TrainController. James at DCC Automation pointed me to the upgrade. I will try and have another go this week with the 7001.

    Very nice video, thank you! Interesting. I didn't know, that there is new command station, which looks like DR5000 and have same HW :-D I didn't like DR5000, because it has too complicated settings. For some settings should be connected LAN cable, before.

    Two questions please. 1- is it neccesary to perform that Switch from DR5000 to YD7001 ?? 2/- will it be still recognized by ITRAIN ??

    • @flinthillsmodelrailway

      @@flinthillsmodelrailway Hi All,
      I just upgraded today...you don't need passcodes anymore and everything seems smoother...I am also a user of itrain. I needed to change my com port (obviously) but also found that the YD upgrade did not keep my S88 set up. I needed to re-create the S88 in the configuration page of the YD...only took a few seconds but something important to note if you use S88....Best wishes

Cheers Geoff

    • @yamorc
      @yamorc Год назад +3

      Yes, actually it's a spin-off from the development of our new YD7100 Command Station. We back-ported that development to the DR5000 hardware.
      Unfortunately the YD7100 is delayed due to chip-shortage. But some parts, a.o. the YD9401 which is also the YD7100's network module, sudden became available. So we thought to do you guys a favor in already bringing it to market 😉

    • @HumancityJunction

      @@yamorc I have been chatting with Ryan at Iron Planet Hobbies, who supports my YT channel, and as soon as he can get the WiFI upgrade chip he is going to send me one so I can do the upgrade and post a video. I am a big fan of what you did at Digikeijs and I am looking forward to the improved hardware/software at YaMoRC.
      (Any chance you will make an LCC add on/expansion module, we need more LCC command station options other than TCS)

    • @yamorc
      @yamorc Год назад +1

      @@HumancityJunction We'll be staring business with Ryan in april. So keep your scanners peeled 😜
      For LLC, in Europe that does not ring anybodies bell... But a US special would be possible.
      Our new YD7100 is designed in a modular way, so that we can add as much extra modules as we need.
      The first example of that is our YD7101 extension module. You might imagine an LLC module in the same way.

    • @HumancityJunction
      @HumancityJunction Год назад +1

      @@yamorc For LCC, I 100% understand. I know it is not big in Europe, but adding LCC to the YD7100, in my opinion, would crush anything else out there. And it's all open source, so I wonder how hard it would be to implement and then provide updates pending interest. Just a thought. Looking forward to getting your products in the US.

    Very interesting and unusual way for the product (DR5000) to develop. Are the various Digikeijs interface and control modules fully compatible or do we need to do Firmware upgrades to all of those too? I have 2 Lenz boosters set-up with a DR5039 and outputs through DR5088RC modules so would like to be confident before changing the DR5000?

    • @flinthillsmodelrailway
      @flinthillsmodelrailway  Год назад

      hi , thanks for the reply .. I don't know at present if all modules are fully compatible but I cant think of any reason why they would no t be . I will integrate my YaMorc 7001 on to my layout during the week and i also use dr4018 and DR5008rc units . this i know will work as its connected via Loco net . the plus for me is the easier Lan Connection for running I train instead of using USB. @@flinthillsmodelrailway Yes they are. And might even work better than before 😏
      There is one new feature in the YD7001, and that is Accessory PoM. Writing works out of the box. But for PoM read, the YD7001 still needs a companion: DR5088RC. Now this DR5088RC would need a FW update to support Accessory PoM Reads. Fore more about that, follow our website.
