Lol’n Billy Rays restaurant is definitely not named after Billy Ray Cyrus. It’s the oldest family owned restaurant in Prestonsburg, and the most popular in town.
Thank you for showing the beauty of Prestonsburg. Home of the Blackcats!🐾❤
Wow I went to job corps their in 2014. Brought back memories.
40 years ago, population was over 5000.
Home of the Prestonsburg Black Cats
The very first Dairy Cheer "Home of The Smashburger" was in Ashland KY.
Who else is helping Melody find stop signs for Shane ? Lol 😂
🤣🤣
Beings my name is Preston Martin i may have just found my retirement place, thanks y’all!
or Martin County
The owner of The Brick House had a party at his house and that night a woman got off work from Brick House and was murdered at doctor's house who was part owner of The Brick House .She was brutally killed and the police just say ,"we still dont know who killed her " three months ago .They never arrested anybody .I believe everyone at party should have been arrested and held for three days before actually charging anyone .This would have sweated the people till they gave up the killer .
#JusticeForAmberSpradlin .. clocks ticking . . This channels peeps ate at Brickhouse I think after Amber murdered at Brickhouse owners house, local dentist, McKinney 🤮
War of 1812 has always been one of my favorite songs! The songwriter (Jimmy Driftwood) lived not too far away from me in Mountain View, Arkansas. He was a teacher and wrote the song to help his students remember facts about the war.
I have a picture with him from when I was a baby!
Dwight Yoakam has a song that mentions Prestonsburg.
They learned "Readin, Writin, Rt 23."
He talked about visiting his grandparents at Prestonsburg when he was a child.
Love your videos!
Thank you!

8:22- We have the same situation here in NJ. The county seat of Cape May County is Cape May Court House, which is an unincorporated town in Middle Township.
I just Googled Prestonsburg and it says the 2021 population is 4,092. To me that's surprisingly low, considering all those big buildings. It looks like a very nice town. I live within a mile or two of Egg Harbor City, NJ. Its downtown is concentrated on its "Main Street", which is called Philadelphia Avenue, and on US 30, which intersects it. It has a Dollar General, a McDonald's, a Family Dollar, and a small supermarket called Incollingo's. Also a Dunkin' Donuts, a super Wawa, a diner, a Napa store, an AutoZone, a Walgreen''s, and at least 7 churches. There are also Mom & Pop type store, and a bunch of empty storefronts, since before Covid. The 2021 population is 4396. It's not doing nearly as well as it could be.
But anyway, I got off on a tangent there. I enjoyed this video as usual. Thanks.
Why is the bridge called "Impossible "?
“What happened to Muriel Baldridge?
“Muriel Baldridge was a young cheerleader who was murdered and later found underneath the West Prestonsburg Bridge in 1949. 0:54 Sep 7, 2021”
I just watched your Prestonsburg video. I was excited to see the bridge, Muriel was my Mom’s cousin, my Mom was raised near Hindman KY.
I could go for some biscuits and gravy from Hardee's.
That’s some good stuff!
Groovy - fantastic - cool - splendid !?!!?.😢😮
Not only can I count on Shane and Melody showing me the hills, hollers, and small towns of Appalachia but Shane is good for at least one song or music reference from my DAD’s record collection. This week Jonny Horton’s Battle of New Orleans 🐊💣
#JusticeForAmberSpradlin murdered last summer in Prestonsberg, Ky. Stabbed 11 times at local dentist, McKinney, house. Also an owner of Brickhouse restaurant.
You both should make a record together. Great voices. Just sayin. This town is really historic and beautiful.
I was a Cottonbaler as Well 3/7 Infantry The Famed 7th Infantry Regiment who in 1814 took a Little Trip Ole Col. Jackson South on the Mighty Mississipp
If you go into the May house theres a quilt from the civil war. A wounded soldier was taken care of and nursed back to health. The mays got it back from Garfield himself (so its said)
Wrights barber shop was open for years. Everyone would stop by and say hi. It wasn't unusual to walk in to music playing and singing, he also had a bible group that met there i believe.
I was just in that area last week retuning home from Dingess, WV. Dingess is a little spot in the road that has a historic tunnel. By-passed Prestonsburg due to time limitations, If you guys live in Virginia, you have quite a drive. Beautiful drive. Thank you for the video
FYI dairy cherr in pburg is 10x better than the one in Pikeville
Why would you eat at a place owned by people that are covering up for their son and others that brutally murdered a young lady that worked for them??
Love you guys videos
Another Great video
Could you do a video on all the places that Kurt Cobain lived? I think it would be interesting to see.
The brick house used to be our school librarian's house
Johnny Depp's mother lived in town too.
Thanks for the invite
We always went to G Wiley park exclusively when we visited grandpa Sam Preston in Salyersville. I really loved your tour.
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful state where I was born ❤
😂😢😅
Counting to 3 is a good idea, I'm going to start doing that. Oh wait, I don't have a car 😢
I’m from Prestonsburg! Makes me homesick!❤
Always love your videos
Johnny Horton recorded "The Battle of New Orleans", and did a good job sanging it. Jimmy Driftwood, borned in Snowball, AR wrote it. He lived most of his life at Timbo, AR. I think he wrote the song to help his students remember history. He was a schoolteacher until he created success with his music career. He had the Driftwood Barn, near Mountain View, where he performed until old age. I remember him trying to sing one of the songs he had written and he forgot the words and had to quit. He tried another song, the Baby O, and had no trouble remembering the words to it. Most of the people in the audience that night were older folks, and understood about forgetting things. I am glad I was able to hear him perform several times.
Street lights look like the ones downtown Bristol. Really add to the town. Shane you have a future in singing. When you all go over the bridge you mention a ferry. Speaking of ferries could you all do one on Harpers Ferry? You guys are fun and entertaining to listen to, sounds like you all have a good relationship, really fun to hear.
Love to see you guys
Sing it Shane lol prestonsburg is a pretty little town! Love it y'all
