- Hart Square Village is a collection of 103 log cabins and buildings which have been preserved on 200 acres in Vale, North Carolina by Dr. Robert Hart III. This collection of historical structures is the largest in the United States with build dates ranging from 1760 to 1890. Buildings include barns, a tavern, a chapel, a schoolhouse and many others creating a unique village nestled around the lakes on the property. The majority of the buildings are from a 22 mile radius of the location, with the first cabin arriving in 1973. Hart Square hosts events and classes throughout the year which showcase and teach colonial and pioneer era life.

What a lovely woman that is honering her grandfather by keeping his dreams alive.
Wish all women were like her and not Tik-Tok type.....Don't need a pound of makeup, 3" plastic fingernails, fake boobs and a roadmap of Tattoo's of their body counts.... be well.
@Mike Collon Only 95%?......joking right?
@@JQUICK21 Plenty of sickos out there.
@Mike Collon Yeah, I'd have ZERO problem with that. She's one of those oddities in that at least for me, hearing her voice just makes me feel calm. Looked up more information on her on the web site for the facility, sadly for us single guys... she's married. LOL. Cudos to the very lucky man that made that happen. Thought I saw a ring on the left hand. Couldn't agree with you more Mike, she's a stellar example of what makes a woman feminine.
She is definitely proof that N.C. has very beautiful women !!
Yes we do!
😂you no listen the amazing History, you look a pretty woman, it’s okey 😅
Not just buitiful she carry’s her self very nice also. Very respectable and pretty cool she enjoys the old ways and antiques
Don’t ya know that here in the South there are plenty of beautiful belles and handsome beaus? 😄
We sure do! I married one lol
She's gorgeous.
This is what our children needs to be taught in our schools. This is history. Thank you and everyone keeping this village alive. Bless all of you
She's mesmerizing. The more I watch her and her obvious goodness, very nice, and I'm glad her Grandpa did that great job making the history alive for future generations.
Yes..... captivating 🎊
Yeah her bf or husband is so lucky I’m extremely jealous
I wholesome, and great American woman. I enjoyed her passion for the property and family’s legacy.
My goodness, what a stunningly beautiful young lady. And a wonderful personality to boot. She really knows her history of the area. That's for certain.
Been enjoying all of your videos.👍
It takes Her generation to educate the next, God bless her and her enthusiasm.
Wow! Just wow. Enough said.
WOW! Rebecca is absolutely Beautiful!!!! Mesmerizing! !
*The grinder is indeed a "Tobacco Shredder" for "role your own". Variants included a herb grinder and in cold storage ( Ice house ) a meat grinder although they were lined with metal eventually giving way to a foundry cast model. The disks on top ware weights of course, although they did not attach to the wire side holding the product pan ! LOL! Great stuff you folks do!*
Such an Awesome Lady!!! So knows all the History, A real pleasure to listen to!!!
Thank you
@@theappalachianchannel Your Family must be so proud of you!!, Vic!!
I have to get to Hart Square! My Appalachian heritage is from a few hours up the mountain chain, but the folks there lived exactly the same way.
This was a crazy interesting video but I had to watch it like 5 times because I kept losing focus because of this girl... WOW... Drop dead gorgeous...
Wow! She talks like an Historian! I loved how detailed she was in explaining every little thing! It's so wonderful that she's carrying on he father's legacy! Lastly and equally so, she is very beautiful and kind! God bless her!
Very nice program im from Connecticut this is great to see .
I’m no born in USA but a love the American History and past memories 🙏🏻🥰👍
Very cool. I am from Ireland its nice to learn a little about American history. This way of teaching history is hands-on and very tangible for people to grasp.
Thanks for the comment and Happy Memorial Day ! John
@@theappalachianchannel Thanks John, same to you!
This is so great.I will go there and play my guitar next summer. I wonder if they still have any decent old style country gals that waited for their man. I will tour the country next year, and play guitar all over.
Ay ay ay Dios mio what a beautiful señorita!! Wow. Speechless. So smart as well. A shout out to her mommy and daddy for making a beautiful baby.❤

THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I live locally and have been to the Hart Village festival many times..every time there are so many new things. It’s the most amazing historical time capsule I’ve ever seen! I met Dr. Hart numerous times over the years and he was the kindest most sincere person you could ever know. So glad your putting this out for all to see what a wonderful preservation job he did over his lifetime..it’s a true legacy for Dr. Hart!
Definitely going to have to come and visit.
This store is amazing, and I enjoyed watching it.
I'm a transplant southern bell.
I've lived in Michigan most of my adult life.
And there is a distinct difference between the empathy and southern way of manners, and depth, that the north does not posses...I miss the south.
Off topic but I love her jacket. Her style in general is cool.
Gee, I guess what we're all commenting about. That store is the coolest thing ever! I hope that I get a chance to visit. I cannot even imagine what all else is there. What an absolutely gorgeous, woman. Because she deserves to be told that.
It's easy to see that she is passionate about what she is describing and that it comes from a sense of love and respect for her grandfather and not from a sense of obligation. Beautiful person, both inside and out!
Amazing tour in the back times and I can't away my focus from the backgrounds inventory of this store, awesome explanations about every item out there, you beauties😍 in all aspects ! keep it up 👍👍
Wow Rebecca is beautiful. I don’t think I would get tired of watching her. I have always admired her grandfather and his passion for saving those old structures.
Where did the 'lace' making 'originate'. There is carrickmamcross lace from co monaghan Ireland. The local museum has an exhibition on lace making. Honiton lace from Honiton, Devon. The square tin for biscuits is known here as a 'tin' of biscuits. A 'half tin' of biscuits is a foot square tin half the depth of the square box. Most grocery stores kept 'ledgers' as customers bought 'goods on tick'. The local grocer literally kept the whole community 'alive' until they got paid. Flour was also bought by grocers in bulk. It came in a large linen bag. The flour was then weighed out into 2lb bags of flour. The 'linen' that the bulk flour came in was then given to customers. Four flour bags were 'sown together' to make bed sheets for your bed. Smaller items like 'seeds', powders etc where normally kept in wooden drawers that sat behind the counter. The grocer would take out a scoop and 'scoop up' some seeds etc. He then made a 'poke', the same as an ice cream 'poke' from strong paper and he sealed the top of it. This is how all condiments were sold. Tea also came in large wooden tea chests. The tea was originally 'stored loose' in large semi circular 'tea bins'. These 'bins' had a large wooden lid and the semicircular lid folded back to let you 'scoop out' the tea which would be put into a paper bag and weighed on the scales. Bacon was also 'hung up' on large hooks along a high bar above the bacon slicer. Bacon was cut off to the required thickness required and wrapped in 'grease proof' paper. String used for 'tying up' the paper bags hung in a spool from the ceiling. A skilled grocer could 'wrap up' a 'parcel' and 'snap off' the string with one hand. Cheese, usually cheddar cheese, came in a large 'block' the size of a cement block. The grocer sliced off 'blocks' of cheese using his 'cheese knife'. With experience they knew how to 'cut off' the correct weight of cheese. In weighting tomatoes, the grocer knew what number of tomatoes he needed to get the 'correct' weight. Do you have a set of scales with a needle that 'tells the weight' of items? Thank you for this video.
Wow! look at the natural long eyelashes! Great video...
Amazing lady!
She's gorgeous!!!!
I'd love to come there. By the way Rebecca is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
General stores are always my favorite.
My people were Appalachi from a little place called Lynchburg West Virginia. Definitely a different kind of people and a different kind of place.
drove through some beautiful areas on my way to a Wedding in Asheville, NC last year. that West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina section(s) just a beautiful part of the world. It was Fall Season so the foliage was gorgeous
I'm very passionate about old general stores. This one has to be one of the most amazing I've ever seen. I don't like getting off topic. As much as I enjoyed the video it was hard to keep my attention on what this video was meant to be. The young lady stole the show. Beautiful, awesome personality and a credit to her generation. Her husband/boyfriend must thank God daily for being the chosen one.
Yes sir! Whoever he is, he is definitely one lucky man! He's a double winner because not only does he get the hand of such a pretty and brilliant lady, but he also gets to hangout in such a cool historical village all the time! 😊
She is beautiful.
My thanks to Dr Hart and his granddaughter for their amazing work in collection and preserving the buildings and contents of the amazing Hart Square Village. That was the most unique and oldest general stores that I have ever seen. Thank you for making this video. I look forward to seeing the other videos in this series from Hart Square Village.
Only 56 miles away, we will have to make a trip and visit.
Just watched this video and while watching an episode of "Anne With an E" I noticed a very similar thread cabinet at the tailor in the show, neat little detail.
We live in North Carolina and I wanted to make a trip to both the Christmas and the October Festival although falls way out of what our budget could handle. Thank you for sharing
Beautiful young lady 😊❤ , her grandfather would be very proud of her. Love from Australia 🇦🇺. I follow The Farmer's Wife. Keep up the great work.

I grew up in Indiana and Kentucky, with family in Eastern Kentucky. We frequently went to NC, TN for vacations. The Appalachian Mountains will always be in my heart, and as I have approached the back half of my life I feel those mountains calling. Nice piece. Love seeing the heritage kept alive.
That's amazing! So glad there are people willing to preserve Appalachian history like that. Used to live in Abingdon VA.

stunning place indeed
I remember going to all kinds of little town museums throughout the country with my parents. My dad knew what all the old tools were and how to use them. I still love going to these kind of places. This is definitely on the bucket list; hope they can open it more often.
I had the privlage of meeting Dr. Heart a few years back and having a tour of Heart Square building by building. And sitting down with him and eating some homemade cookies and talking with him. He gave us a signed book of Heart Square witch we will always cherish. It was great that he took so much time to show us around. Truley a great man and I'm sure highly missed.
This is an amazing video.
I live nearby in Hiddenite. Will have to make a visit out there soon.
