I attempt to paint like Q Uitta from All shabbed out, with some of The turquoise Iris mixed in to get a blended, layered, chippy paint finish and Shelly from Shizzle Design- www.shizzle-design.com

Personally I'm dying to move suddenly, but I understand the stress it can cause. Glad to have your DIY's back. 💖
In August we were given 60 days notice to move. My dad had lived in that home for 16yrs, my son and I for 10. While 60 days sounds fine, it was during pandemic and we have had two massive fires here which has meant fewer homes available. We found a place in time but only had a week to move. My dad had to move cars, parts and tools that with help still took the entire week to do. The house was left to me to do which should be fine except I am disabled so it took the entire week. It was highly stressful but we found a wonderful home that we like much better. I have been using the move as an excuse to redo everything 🙂
Looks like it came out of the bottom of the ocean. A treasure!
We also had to move suddenly - a big clock ticking down to get out - ended up moving with very little furniture (they're always far more complicated back stories, aren't they?) so I ended up shopping thrift stores for some big items. Ended up getting a big chunky old wooden dining room table (with hidden pop up leaves) with a huge divet of a burned hot pot mark. Filled it, painted it and... love it! This ended up being the catalyst to my painted furniture obsession - now have my own business. I wouldn't have discovered this passion without all the negativity that preceded it. Silver linings baby!
Thank you! Now I know how I can do a wall grandfather clock that I muddled up with too many layers and a blend from hell that didn’t work. You are so fun to watch and give good simple directions!
Still going back and catching some of your old videos. 😁 I LOVE this island! Fun technique.
Hi Debi I don't know your circumstances for having 48 hours to move, but I went through that last January. I was thrown out of my house because of a third person. But unlike you, when I left I took EVERYTHING including chandeliers, rugs, drapes etc.
The trauma is at times debilitating🙁. I'm 25 years older than you but watching your videos (just discovered you!) has given me new hope and inspiration. Thank you Debi🙏🏻
I'm so sorry, that sounds very very hard. Keep moving forward there are better days ahead .
Oh, yes. I had to move once with 30 day's notice, which doesn't sound so bad, but I had three buildings full of stuff. And only part of that was mine. And everyone expected me to deal with their stuff. Including my landlord who owned a lot of it. I've still never sorted out who belongs to what, and it's been years. Outcome? I ended up in the Emergency Room collapsed with extreme fatigue and dehydration. I may never move again. I'm glad to see you've handled your move better.
Ive watched this video so many times. Today I have a piece thats very scratched, and Im going to do a chippy layer, chip back, because it will cover and blend those scratches. Love your sense of color!
Love ur videos and love your work! but this one sounded very familiar to my own situation this last year. I also just had a super sudden move where I moved into my new place on xmas eve of 2020! I was starting over after a decade long relationship and pretty much only had my clothing and some other small things which is actually what got me into the whole furniture painting passion. Being on a tight budget and having to make some shabby old furniture pieces look cute and not so old, I of course came to youtube for some help and ideas and thats where I came across your channel! My mom and best friend who I lost when I was 19 was also named debi so thats another thing that caught my attention. I love your stories and your furniture makeovers and just wanted to say thanks for all the great videos you've taken the time to produce for your channel. You've really inspired me to continue painting furniture and turning the old and ugly into unique and awesome pieces, like all of yours! I love your honesty and originality in sharing how you acheive the overall look. I also like to just go with flow and try different things as they pop into my head while painting, usually this way gets the best look. Any idea of the best way to get your paint if I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico? I hate waiting on shipping! Im super inpatient. Lol
FABULOUS!! You are my shero! Your sunny disposition reflects in everything you paint. Keep making the world a brighter place! 🌈
Ugh! But you did it! Looks like more room with play with now. Lemonade!!!

Yay, Debbie! I love your videos! Excited about the house tour. :)
💞LOVE💜 watching you transform/upcycle old furniture...adore that you are honest about your painting learning journey!!!
Horror moving stories abound...but once we had to go from one apartment to next over Easter weekend with no help, couldn't rent a truck, family/friends out of town etc...and both apartments were on the second floor....stopped counting how many times I'd climbed up and down the staircases after 200 times.....But managed to get it all done, would NEVER want to do it again though, LOL🤣
Blessings on your new space, hope it brings you lots of 🤹♀️creative🎨 fun!
TFS 😄 JJ
I am in love absolutely stunning. I have been watching diy videos all day to get inspired . This look is just beautiful
Love the colors!! Looking forward to your tour!
I finally got my hands on some of your paint and I love it!!! Glad to see you back. Can’t wait for the house tour. I also have moved suddenly, with 3 kids and the same week as school started. It was so stressful! 😫

Gorgeous Deb!👏👏👏 Your mom would have loved it.😘
Absolutely Gorgeous & The Colors 💖......Oh, Yay You're Back, It's So Good To See You 👏 😃I love your videos they are Beautiful, Calming and You're a Genius! ✨💖😃
The desk turned out beautiful, can't wait to see the house tour. Remember sometimes unexpected things can happen, and it turns out to be a blessing. Don't put to much thought into what happened, and take this opportunity to enjoy your beautiful blessing that you have presently. Even something that seem difficult still has its blessings for new development, and growth in the soul. You are so creative, don't let the move touch your spirit, only an inspiration.
Yes I have. So happy to see and hear you again. Please tell your story, I'm dying!
I hope you're doing well since the move!! I've had to do a similar thing but with an apartment, not a house. I had to move within a week and had crafted up the place to my liking but a lot of it was location specific (apartment had a weird floor plan) and had to be discarded or put away for the new place... So I completely understand your pain having to do a similar thing, its very stressful to lose something you've put a piece of yourself into. Since then I've been a little scared to do anything crafty but things I can just hang on the walls but I've been looking to do something more permanent more recently and I found and looooooove your videos! I sent this one to my mom and I hope we can paint a piece of her furniture or mine like this soon! Thanks again and have a lovely day!
I love Debi. Your amazingly talented
🌸It’s Beautiful Debi! It really “makes” the kitchen! You make it look so easy but it is a lot of work! You are a super ambitious girl - I always look forward to your videos, you are so fun to watch .... and I always want to paint something after I watch you!😉
May God bless you in your new place!☺️
Wow!! gorgeous!! Love your work. It is happy! you make it look so easy when we all know it so much work. Love to watch your videos! keep them coming.
I am a 'newish' subscriber. I love your videos and really think your mom's kitchen island looks fabulous!! My heart goes out to you on having to move unexpectedly. I did have a very unexpected move when my dad passed away suddenly. My mom was well cared for by my dad and I moved into their home the very day he passed. God's blessings abound however - HE gave me strength to be a caregiver to my mom who has gone on as well. I look forward to more videos.
You are so stinkin cute and fun to watch, I am definitely gonna try this, it looks amazing...I recently moved from farm-style Iowa to aqua Florida, gonna be doing some Spanish/Tuscan style painting...I'm pumped now...THANKS gurl, it IS amazing...
Yesssss! I knew if I said enough prayers you'd upload a new video to help me escape the Superbowl party madness. 😭😭
Girl, you remind me of me 30 years ago! I wasn’t as creative, but I was fun and quirky like you, and was passionate when I started a project. I’m so happy to have found you!
What an awesome way to carry on the memories ~ super cool makeover!

Wowza!!! This is fantastic!
Am in the process of moving - again - (too many times and too long a story for here) but into a virtually empty space this time with just my clothes. Sigh. So envy your spirit and brilliant creative talents. I hope I can absorb an eensy bit! Happy to have found your channel even if I'm late to the *ahem* island. Hehe. xx
The color is so gorgeous, berry delicious.
Absolutely Gorgeous! This is my favorite piece to date. I've learnt so much from you. My house is looking like a DIY project itself lol. Can't wait to see it all come together for you.

Wow! It looks amazing!
Yes, I've had to move suddenly. I understand your dilemma of moving with just your clothes. About your island, I loved the way your island looked after your first step of using the rubber scraper over the yellow paint. It was gorgeous to me after the first step. You put a lot of hard work into repurposing your island. Great job! P.S. I love your shoes too!
Estaba esperando este video desde que vi la foto de la isla. Ha quedado preciosa. Me encanta.👏👏👏👏👏
This is so incredibly GORGEOUS!!!! 😍💞💞

Yay House Tour !!!!
You're the cutest thing ever!! Glad I came across your channel💗⚘
Such a cute idea!! Ive had to move suddenly, NOT a fun time. Our landlord defaulted on our property (not due to lack if rent payments to him), and we were given 48 hours to move our house. Good luck Debi!! Love your work!
Love your videos! Can’t wait for the next one!❤️
U deserve much more subs and views...honestly talent is not given the respect it deserves any more.....
Looks great! I love this color scheme. I'm doing my curio cabinet these colors
I've missed you! Moving unexpectedly may be a blessing in disguise. I got evicted from my townhouse because they sold them to a recovery center to turn them into a halfway house. I had 3 weeks to find a place and move. Ended up in a dumpy trailer. For 3 years. I just moved into my dream home 2 weeks ago. And you have inspired me to make my home quirky and fabulous! Again, welcome back! ❤
Love ur new videos!! U give me motivation to try new projects and styles!!
I love your aesthetic! Thank you for sharing this.
I love the colors. I think I will use the packing tape meth w candle wax. Put the blue underneath and fuchsia on top and pull off various areas. Thanks so much. It’s beautiful. Great vid.
I’ve always wanted to try that
This is my favorite piece 😍
I love everything you paint,I'm def, getting some of that paint

I am SO going to do your reward system.... You give yourself something after you do something that was hard!
Wow! An unexpected move and a new video! You definitely deserved those cute shoes. 😉
Another great video, thank you so much for your hard work.
LOVE it. great idea
I was so stoked to see this one go live! I've been using DIY paint finally on several pieces and I am so inspired by you and Dionne!
Great to see your pretty face Debbie! Love the island. Sure enjoy watching your videos! Looking forward to seeing your new DIY videos. :0)
That piece turned out great! I had to move suddenly when my husband and I divorced. I had to pack up all my things within a month and find my own space. I actually saw it more as an adventure and a way to cut down on my belongings. 😀
Great work.great video
I want that island Debi!
I just found your channel like a week ago. It's funny that you mention Shelly from Shizzle on here. She's the closest retailer to me, and we just drove to Holland, MI over the weekend so I could get your paint🥰
we love shelly! She is so talented and knows paint better than I do. She's an excellent teacher , you are in very good hands!
Debi I love your videos and I especially love the stories that come with them. Was there ever a Part 2 of the "Two Dads" story? So good. When your ready I cant wait for you to share "The Great 48 Hour of Power Move!"
Love it!!!
