Thanks that would be awesome but unfortunately just not in the budget ❤️
You’re a lot, Debi. A mix of a lot of color, a lot of insight, a lot of storytelling, a lot of normalcy, a lot of craziness, a lot of success, a lot of insecurity, a lot of encouragement, a lot of dancing and a lot of many other things. One of the aspects does not cancel out any of the others. You’re the whole package and you’re enough! You are loved!
It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with you and all of the other creatives so inspirational. Thank you for all that you do for our community. I personally have such fond memories of watching your tutorials and learning from you about 10 years ago. I think it probably reflects in my work now. Much love until the next time we see each other. 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
Thank you so much, Jonathon, I am so inspired by you, and it was such a joy to meet you. I truly appreciate all the knowledge that you shared with us and I can hardly wait until our paths cross again. ❤
Guys, for years and years it has been my DREAM and most sincere wish and prayer that you Debi and you Jonathon would get together…. And now my dream has come true and my prayer has been answered…. Next step: get Debi to the UK to do workshops with Jonathon… Please, please please (with many cherries on top) do make this dream come true too…. 🌺💐🥰🌈💕❤️😘
What a great story! Excited for the inlay. Loved all your cute outfits. You’re like a little fiesta in a dress, because where you are it’s always a party. Love you! 🎉
love you Jami!!! Fiesta in a dress... thank you friend :)
Annie Sloane was the first paint I started using when I began up cycling furniture and I still love it. It’s completely different from DIY. Her paint is more neutral where as your paint is more vibrant and colorful. Each has its place.
You are exactly right. Both paints have its purpose. ❤
Same! I love them both!
Debi no one can fill the place God made for you. Being unique in a world that wants everyone to be the same is what God intended. Annie was just the first commercially produced chalk paint, like milk paint both were born of necessity. Everything and everyone has a purpose in this life, to find yours you need to remember as you said that we find our identity in Christ. We need to love others but not elevate them. It’s so easy to do that as if someone else is somehow more precious they’re not. We are all equal in Gods eyes. Like my two sons they’re different but I cherish them the same. God made you artistic that is your gift. Shine girl shine.
Very wise words my friend, thank you❤❤❤❤
❤💖💛❣️❣️🙂🙃🙂🎉💕
We love you, Debi, and we would NEVER want you to be anything or anyone else than ALL God has created you to be!!! From your love of color (which I share) to your fine art of story telling to your creativity and artistry! Keep being YOU!!! Because the World is a better brighter place because of you. ❤
I am so proud of you for putting your work, your faith and yourself out there you are so brave!
It was such a blessing to have met you yesterday at your store. (I’m the one from Georgia) I can identify with everything you said. I too struggle with, “Am I good enough to sell my pottery? Am I a good enough artist to say I’m an artist?”. I have struggled with that since I was a little girl painting in my grandmother’s kitchen. (I’m now 60, so it’s been a long time of insecurity). Thank you again for your words. So nice to meet you!
It was lovely to meet you, Kathy ♥️ I think many of us struggle with these things. Yeah I have to remember that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made.❤️❤️❤️
Amen ! Well said. I'm there too. I want to start selling my items. Painter hoarding her items. Lol Thks for inspiration
Debbie-YOU'VE GOT THIS!! I have no doubt if you just speak your truth you will be just fine! You are a natural storyteller! Regarding, competition when I was in the art gallery/hand papermaking business and a member of the Blue Coasts Artists. I have always felt this way: There is enough for everyone. Abundance NOT scarcity!
Bravo Debi, never doubt how hard it is to be brave, but relish your inner strength to power through. Love ya so much!
Love you too Re’ ♥️♥️♥️
❤❤❤ this video. Your outfits, your shoes, your confessions of vulnerability, your courage to forge ahead. Your expressions of faith and living your life as meant to be, aligned with your gifts. Tis hard sometimes to figure that out. BUT…with WILL there is WAY.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Debi and ALL for showing your joy, your passions❣️.
🙋♀️👏🏻🙏🏻💃🎉🌺💖
You made me cry! Your words are so so true, Debi. We don't have all the fancy paints you guys have in the US (wish I could get my hands on some of yours😊 love the water colour effect). Annie changed my life too. I still paint with only her paint. Your humility and daring to face the dragons are so inspiring.
Love ya from South Africa
I’m in Europe and die everything time I watch one of your vids, I want to use D.I.Y. Paint so badly! When will you come on over to Europe & set up shops so we can buy locally? It costs us a small fortune to buy online as we have to pay priority mail fees ( since the 9/11 horror), we have to pay VAT, my country is 26%, and we now have to pay customs on everything we get from outside the E.U. It used to be we were allowed to import up to $150 before customs charged us but no more! So, shopping online is no longer an option. Please think about opening up shops here. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. We love you so much.
Oh Debi, this was wonderful! I love your sincere heart and your bravery with everything you tackle.
You are a bright GEM in this world! God bless 💕
Thank you for another great story… It was what I needed to hear. I constantly get stuck, stagnated and second guessing myself and my work or feel it’s not good enough. But what you ladies said stuck with me and reminded me that I’m on the path that God designed just for me.
Thank you!🥰
❤❤❤ Everyone needs to remember that we are all snowflakes.....not two are the same....each one is different and beautiful ❤❤❤
So loved seeing this, again! Such a beautiful reminder of how important it is to give thanks to our creator and stay true to our creative gifts.
All beautiful ladies ❤
Congrats on the upcoming Colin with the IOD sisters. I also discovered Annie Sloan paint many (many!) years ago in a magazine, bought every single one that had an article about her and when she began publishing books-bought those too. She's a legend and now Debi, you are also! You'll continue to grow and grow and just stay humble and kind and remember where your blessings are from and give Him the credit and thanks. So proud for you--and you ARE deserving of business rewards for lack of a better phrase. Keep painting and smiling. I've got to find a copy of Where Women Create!
*What an AH-MAZE-ING group of TALENTED and INSPIRING PEOPLE the I.O.D. Sisters assembled. No doubt you will be mining the treasured wisdom they each imparted to you for many months to come❣️🥰💜💕💛💚🦋🍃🌸*
I wish I could have been/could be at one of the retreats but I'm so thankful for this video of encouragement, inspiration and eye candy!!! ❤🎉💜💛🌸I cannot WAIT for your collab to be released!!!! Thanks for always being so generous to share your heart.🙏🏻Much love, God bless you. xx
It was so fun meeting you and Ellie at Flourish. You both are a joy! Keep on being your fun, happy, colorful self! 🥰
We loved meeting you too Rita!!!
What a lovely group coming together to share and learn! Thank you for the video Debi.
It's just incredible that four women can come together and be so inspirational! Kudos to Annie Sloan for doing this and Debi I always admire your openess and honesty to share what you're feeling. We tend to put people on pedestals and think that everything comes easily to them. You make us realize that what you do is not effortless and requires work and determination. Thank you for that!❤
I'll never forget watching you for the first time, I loved the music, your stories, your home and shop...and most importantly, the dance...being a struggling biz owner, I used to make my own chalk paint and crackle paint having limited funds, but DIY is all I use now and living in Florida I am free to use all your brilliant colors and I do...thanks for all of your diligence, totally appreciate it...!
What a thrill for you to see and be with Annie Sloan. I think all of us started to paint with her collection and ideas. Than you came along WOW. I am so proud of you , your very own journey is SO unique and fun… I’ve been watching you on RUclips since before DIY paint was invented. Love your style . Thanks for this video and I hope to meet you one day. 🇨🇦🇨🇦👍🤗🤩🎨😎💕💖❣️❤️
Oh my, thank you Debi for the important message!!! Yes, Jonathan is right, we DO love you Debi ❤❤❤
I love Jonathan too! He’s really good. Once I told him he was a great teacher and he replied that he didn’t always see himself like that.
What a beautiful community you have 💕
Girls you are both dressed so fun and are looking beautiful ❤️. Debi you really are a great storyteller. You always have me hanging on every word. 😊
Debi you're such a treasure! Elle is the most darling, too! 💕
I love you both for different reasons. The IOD sisters and Annie Sloan...you must've felt like heaven. 💗💗💗
thanks for sharing, Debi, I really appreciate seeing you all together.
I'm always grateful to those who paved the way; without an Annie Sloan paint to come first, maybe no one would have come afterward with an amazing clay based paint. Then again, if we are talking about Debi B. here it may have happened just the same. At the end of the day DIY Paint is far superior to other brands in terms of my preference and I am grateful Debi made it through some hard and unsure times to bring us this goodness and still regails us with tales of paint, triumph, loss, God, Jesus and everything in between. And while I appreciate Annie Sloan, I am only on alert for and awaiting a new video update from DIY Design Diary.❤🎉
Congrats Debi!!! I’m thrilled for you!
I absolutely hated public speaking. I never wanted to be the center of attention. Unfortunately due to my job I unexpectedly became a merchandiser and then was asked to come to meetings and speak about my job and then asked to train people. I was mortified at first but learned over time to deal with it. Then I shifted professions and got roped into meetings and training people again. I never got over the sick feeling in my stomach right before I had to speak. I know how brave you had to be and I’m proud of you for not letting your fear or feeling of inadequacy stop you. You have a wonderful gift and have a tremendous amount of knowledge to give.
Always so happy to see one of your new videos in my inbox!!! Hooray!!!! And looking forward to the new Where Women Create magazine....congrats on being spotlighted there! God bless!!!
I love your clothes! So bright and colorful!
What fun! Amazing seeing you and Annie Sloan side by side, two amazing entrepreneur creative powerhouses!
I absolutely love all you and your niece’s outfits. You both truly wear your joy. I can’t wait to see the inlay you come up with, one thing I know for sure is that it will be fabulous.
Love your videos Debi they always bring me joy!
It's true Debbi. We all do love you ❤. Your honesty and generousty are sublime xxx
Thank you for your honesty. Thank you for being human.
Thanks for sharing this. I feel like I was there in a small way. Congrats on the collaboration!
This is wonderful, Debi. So much we all can use in every aspect of our lives regardless of our careers or jobs.
Why do I cry through every one of your videos!!❤😊 You are a blessing!!
Great quotes about stories bringing us together! How amazing to see you share the stage with Annie Sloan! Now... what the heck is an "inlay"???
You just walked up to the building I work in for the last 10 years 🤗❤️
Wow small world ❤❤
Yup, I cried... all the way. Mostly because I am so far away in SA and chalk paint here is só expensive, you have to improvise with what you can get. Adding this and that and experimenting, the jourhey, you know... Debi, I hope you really read this yourself... you should know that I am convinced you are an Angel, you saved my life a year ago, and I'm still here. I am glad you met JMM, Annie, and the IOD Sisters. (I don't know who your PA was, but he described you 👌🏻). Storytelling is srill you best best thing... please never stop. Live from South Africa🇿🇦
GOLD can your in lay be GOLD ❤Love your honesty and stories of encouragement ❤️you are a blessing
What a beautiful video. I am a new follower Debbie. You are a true inspiration and thank you for giving credit to God for the way he has blessed you! I am looking forward to using DIY paints in the future. I am not an artist but I can’t wait to create something that gives me inspiration. God Bless you! 💗😊
Love this so much ! I thank God for content creators like you. 🙏
Love this video!!! Two great paint companies on the same stage!!! God bringing y'all together thru the IOD sisters!!!! I'm excited to see the paint inlay coming this fall!!!! Keep the videos coming!!!!🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
God bless you Debbie, you are amazing ❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your experience ♥️
Abundance mindset! End to zero sum!! ❤️❤️
I’m so proud of you, Debi!!! I can’t wait to see all (more) of what God is doing in and through your life!
I’m in the same boat, speaking is VERY hard for me to do. But afterwards I feel amazing and grateful for pushing through the fear. God brings me to weird spaces too. It’s all something we push through the soil to grow closer to Him by faith through. As always thank you for storytelling, being authentically YOU, and shining His light! Blessings!
OMG!! Who wouldve thought my fav crafting lady from so cal also speaks to my heart in timely seasons I am desperate for the Lord to speak to me!! Thank you!!!! I was getting anxiety and nervousness as I start a new role and job....lots of things in my mind. .but I wasnt walking in abundance mindset or focusing on the value God created in me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for speaking life when I felt so defeated. Xxoo
you are just too much! love you, Les Meyer
Love those green pajamas!
So needed to see this video today, thank you for sharing your heart and your story and always pointing back to our Creator. Helped me put things in perspective today
Hi Debi, I was feeling pretty down before I watched your video, you always make me re-adjust my mind when I hear your stories. Thank you for what you do. Still trying to find my place in this industry 🙏 for me❤
Love this video, Debi! I tried to get to your reveal last weekend, but couldn’t make it happen. I love hearing your journey and your honesty. To know that someone like you has fears and doubts, helps others realize they are not alone. And it is so true, working together and not against each other or competing with each other is what the world needs. I find it so true in this industry, there’s room for everyone. Everyone has a different gift to share and we are all better for learning from each other. 💕. Congrats to you and thank you for sharing!
Love this video and your honesty Debi!! I can’t wait to see your inlay design ❤️❤️❤️
I️ loved this Debi, and I️ love you. 🩷
I love Annie Sloan and her paint she is so humble and knowledgeable. You are both worthy creative's in your own right. I love your bubbly personality and colourful paint colours. They have a real Mexican flavour and I also love the names of your paint. I watched all your videos when I first started painting furniture and you gave me lots of inspiration. I wish we could get it in NZ. Annie Sloan paint is available here but so expensive compared to the UK where I first started using it and painting furniture. We have other brands available here in NZ but my heart belongs to Annie S paint lol. The names and colours are just perfect for me. There is a place for both. One day I will get my hands on some DIY paint. 😀
That’s amazing!! You go girl! I would have been so so nervous and excited! Loved all the footage!
you are an inspiration ! thanks! kisses from sunny Greece.....
I paint my furniture. I don’t sell. I love both Annie Sloan and DIY paint and finishes. My current coffee table has ASCP bottom and DIY top. I love it.
This video has helped me realize some things. I am a bit hard on myself and I just need to let go. Thank you Debi!
So good!! It was such a blessed event! Can’t wait to see you in June!!
I don’t ever comment Debi but I just love you’re videos and watching you! I love the DIY paint and just purchased 3 of your new brushes. I’m not new to art but fairly new to furniture painting. I’ve done some years ago with just the only paint I had available at the time (latex) but your paint creates a whole new world for me!
Wow wow. An incredibly insightful & poignant video ladies! Such a divided spirit over our nation & this vid shows in real moments how we CAN work together yet have respectful differences. Also LOVE the "what did I wear?" Shots of the fun clothes! Ellie ricks those for the young only shoes lol! I used to rock those too..4-5 decades ago! Lololololol ❤❤❤❤❤
Wow! Soo inspiring! I admire ALL of you! Love Jonathan's videos and wondered who Annie Sloan was as he used her paints as well as others I follow who also use your DIY. Your layout in Women Create is stunning. LOVE the photos...I will look for that edition to purchase and the one in the fall. You ladies were very colourful and outfits co-ordinated and so beautifully put together. I imagine a lot of planning went into your outfits. And yes, your dad did look handsome and snazzy. I want and need to add more colour to my life and am in the process of doing so. Love all you ladies! Love your dancing!!! God Bless!!
Interesting. I am on my own path. I don’t have a business or skillsets to share but I do have my own unique story. Thanks for the enlightenment.
We looooove Ellie, too!! I am so glad she is your right hand girl!
I love how you share your faith !
Sounds like everyone had fun! Can't wait to see what you design! You are wonderful and you are brave!!
❤❤❤I cannot believe that you haven't painted your suitcases YET❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I LOVED that you shared about this! Paint brands can be VERY competitive (from my standpoint as the customer), and I’ve actually found that those who show that more are those I have tended to buy less, or stop all together. Throughout the last few years I’ve seen some really shady marketing strategies, stealing of ideas, designs, and the bashing of other companies come from select brands and the moment that happens, for me, I’m out, whether I liked the product or not, because I feel very much like this creative subculture we live in has GOT to be open and accepting, and that every time I’ve chosen a brand that talks openly about wanting their products to WORK WELL with other brands, I’ve been happy with the results both in my work and within myself. I have loved DIY paint for four years, since I first started painting. I only more recently started working with Annie Sloan as well, and I actually love the way they work together. I am someone who will always want to use all the things. I like to pull my favorite products from all different lines and I think that’s what it’s about for us as artists, having that freedom and knowing the companies that are out there making things for us are keeping that in mind when they create products. I’m beyond excited to see yours and Annie’s inlays. I’ll be saving in the meantime!
I'm talking about your day 2 dress, they are all so sweet!!
I love your videos and I love your stories. Thank you! Lots of love to you and your family 💜
Love your stories.
Competition helps you gauge yourself and the products that you produce
LOVE YOU GUYS!! 💖💖💖💖💖
Another amazing video and STORY! Debi, i would love to meet you one day! I started my DIY journey about 4 years ago after watching Mark Montano videos. I found the Prima brand and accidentally stumbled onto IOD from there.
IOD products became my obsession and i found your channel shortly after. I finally was able to buy DIY paint and products about a year ago and have never looked back. I have used Annie Sloan and i do love her products as well.
However, I must say DIY paint and IOD have brought me so much joy and have pulled me through some tough times.
I am grateful to be apart of the Facebook groups and learning new things everyday.
I may not engage as much as others, but i never miss a day checking out IOD, IOD retailers, DIY paint, and the Roycycled pages.
I LOVE the messages you and IOD spread to the world through your products! I also may not be as talented as you or other creators, but for me it's not about who creates what better. It is about the community of people and ideas. Thank you for your spirit and perseverance! Thank you for creating an amazing line of products bringing us together! Thank you for all the inspiration!
You are very welcome Candice💜 thank you so much!
Thankyou for sharing this ❤ we all feel this way from time to time and to share the experience helps every one of us
😊❤Hello Debi
So beautiful this video too.
Big hug from Lisbon, Portugal with love.❤
My heart always wants to explode after one of your stories ❤️🤯🤗
Congratulations on your inlay! You have been such a big influence on my life. I found your channel during the pandemic madness and it gave me new life.
May God bless you and sending much love from Nova Scotia!!! (AKA Lipstick on a Pig)
So inspiring!
so beautiful Debbie! I live in Cali and am headed down your way for vacation beginning of June! Do you still have a little shop? I would love so much to stop in and say hello❤
Love this video and you are amazing!!
❤ This so much! Ty for sharing
I'll bet the inlay will be bright!
Debi, you 're beautiful. ❤
Just wonderful!
You are such an amazing talented artist! And what an amazing group of women who inspire us all ❤ Great video ! Exciting announcement too 👍
What an amazing video! So many talented artists in one room! ❤️
Loved this video❤
Did you use Annie Sloan paint before CeCe Caldwell's paint? or after? I watched a video you have on here about CeCe's compare to Annie's. Very nice to see you and Annie building friendships.
Yes, I started with Annie Sloan , it was her paint that sparked a passion to create with furniture. I did make a video about that. It’s quite a story.. ❤ I put the link in my description box :-)
