    I bought one pretty recently on sale and I could not be happier! It's so perfect for my use, plenty rigid for my use case with Assetto Corsa and BeamNG and the wheel translates some feel to the seat so it may be more communicative than some more expensive rigid setups. My only complaints are that the steering wheel plate doesn't fit my Fanatec CSR (so I have to use the clamp for now) and there's no adapter for a gear shifter. Both problems can be solved with some mild DIY, drill some holes for the wheelbase and hack a 35mm TV pole for $35 to make a shifter mount. Still way less expensive than the next best option!

    I find the pedals being lower relative to your seating position the most comfortable and most precise as far as inputs. I also find it much more enjoyable that way. After all you are not limited by the real life position of pedals and seating that you have to adhere to.

    After almost a year i decided to buy me a more stable also yet better adjustable play seat evolution. The chair is really handy but for somebody that is bigger and heavier i couldnt find the perfect sitting position. The chair also struggles to have extra things mounted on like a handbrake or shifter. I order a sequential shifter but i sadly needed to send it back because there was no way it could be mounted on perfectly to make it stable so i hope my new playseat will give a better experience but for somebody living in a small apartment this chair is really chill and relaxt to race in.

    Thank you so much for this video. I live in the US, retired and travel full time in a 34 foot RV with my wife. We have VERY limited room and I just got into Sim racing. This video helped me decide to buy one since I can put it away after use. Only thing for me is I have to figure out where to put a monitor. Right now I use a laptop to play and there is no mounting place for it.

    If you want to get creative, I have DIYed and shifter mount and also mounted Dayton Audio Tactile Transducer Pucks. The transducers sit under each side of the pedles and on each side of the back of my Play seat Challenge. The seat is durable, very well made and fairly sturdy. The best part it all folds away. Running VR, so my whole rig is a computer, a wireless keyboard and the Play seat All can be packed up and stored in 5 mins. The transducer work very well and sitting in VR with them is pretty nice I gotta say. Great review

    Thanks for the helpful review, I am particularly thankful you showed the rigidness/flexibility, seems fine, I can't wait to finally get a rig for my wheel and pedal set, I have tried to make do with furniture set ups since I got the wheelset a lil over a year ago but it just discouraged me from using the wheelset because I was soo uncomfortable and couldn't drive near competitively lol. I know the wheelset has potential though so I can't wait to setup in a rig 👌🏻

    Thank you for the review! Very focused and covered important points. One thing I missed in all the reviews I have watched, including this one, is what is the height of your eye level line. This is very important for me, since I pretend to use it in front of my office desk, where the center of my 35" UWide monitor is at around 103 cm (top of the desk is at 74cm). BTW, I am 1,72m.

    I was looking at getting this vs the F-GT Lite chair, but I liked EVERYTHING about this chair better than the F-GT Lite. My concern; however, was if it could handle the pedals as I'm potentially getting the Fanatec CSL Elite wheel/pedals with load cell. While watching you drive in your review along with your zip-tie fix, I didn't seem to notice any problem at all, and you have a very similar setup to what I want to get. And to know you can be competitive in it is a nice bonus. Good job btw! 👍

    BEWARE the velcro straps aren't that strong and will only hold so much weight. I'm 14.5 stone. Also the pedal base is pretty crap... again the pedals need to be held in place by a velcro strap. I had to buy/make additional velcro straps to hold the two bottom legs to prevent it from collapsing. It can feel pretty flimsy too... it is not sturdy as he says.

      I literally just fitted a Clubsport v2.5 + Formula V2 Rim to mine today! :) It's actually pretty amazing how well the playseat does, I may upload a video of my current setup in the future.

    Great review! Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
    I'm getting a used one today, fingers crossed it's as good as it seems.
    Edit: if you have thick legs like me, this thing hurts like hell.

    Its not a bad chair. But its a bit of a pain to get in and out of it sits very low. Also the angle of the headrest is annoying. It curves inward forcing you to kinda lean your head forward which is unnatural. Its even more annoying if you like to play in VR. Just something to keep in mind. Otherwise it is a solid chair. Also there's no shifter mount for a h shifter so you'll have to jury rig something or find a 3d printed adapter online just be aware most are wobbly.

    I wonder what they are like for the more expensive inverted pedals.

    Is there anyway to attach an h shifter or handbrake you the seat? If not, had anyone found a workaround with say, a small table on the side of anything?

    Great review. I'm definitely going to pick up one of these. Would you say the chair is stable enough for F1 games, the feedback being quite substantial?

    I have a wheel stand pro and have just bought this today. It was on a deal for only £154 on overclockers. The only issue I'm going to have is I have the thrustmaster shifter. Is there an extension to use this with this seat? Good vid by the way

    You use a pretty soft FB setup, My playseat (the steering frame) moves a lot more when I am driving.

      Fair enough, I did talk about the strap that broke - but to be honest that's all that has failed. It's coming up to 4 years now and it still works fine.

      @@derpaufler Good choice, I use that too but just upgraded. Don't at all feel bad that there is a brand new Logitech wheel, because its just the same as the G29, with a few gimmicks that not a lot of games will support anyways.

    • @derpaufler
      @derpaufler 4 года назад +1

      Alexander Ulv I got mine used for EUR 160,- as I was not okay in spending EUR 270,- for the G29 new. So the new one will be even more expensive at this point. Maybe I will make the switch to a Fanatec Clubsport Wheel sometimes.

    Can you remove pedals and wheel stand so it can be used as just a gaming chair aswell as a sim rig

    • @PaultheSimRacer
      @PaultheSimRacer  3 года назад

      Yeah if you really wanted - the pedals removed really easily (there's a simple unclip motion to get them off) - the wheel stand piece can be taken off (although it would be a bit of a pain to keep re fitting it).
