- Without doubt this is my most anticipated game of all time. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was the catalyst that created this entire channel over 8 years ago!! To be here now with the MEATY section of the FF7 story that is Rebirth. I've done theory after theory, trailer reaction vids for days, speculated on news and held my breath for this game long enough. Its time to dive in and see if Rebirth truly lives up to its early metacritic reviews. This could be the ending stream of all streams for the channel. Potentially. I can't wait to get in and have you guys along for the ride! I'm going to be SLOOOW burn playing this playthrough and enjoying Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth while I'm mid travels. All date scenes are great, but I gotta say the "one" with Yuffie (wouldn't call it a date though) was probably my favourite. It was very heart-warming seeing Cloud act like a Big Bro to her.

Even though it's based on player's choice I like that Tifa in a way gets her princess and knight scenario that she wanted with Cloud.

The LTD only exist, because some fans can't accept the way the game is written and have to manipulate it to fit their own opinion. I even saw people using false or modified quotes or intentionally leaving out text lines to strengthen their argument, which is nuts. You can also see it constantly in comments and chats how some say "this is canon or not" or "Aerith fits so much better here" and so, constantly arguing what is real and not, just like Sephiroth they are changing reality (or fiction).
People also generalize "love" way too much, the way Cloud loves Tifa isn't the same as for Aerith, Yuffie, Barret or his own mother. There are nuances in "love". Do you love your mother in the same way you love your girlfriend/wife or your best friend or your dog or pizza? Because I don't, I still love them all, but differently.
I find it sad that CloudxTifa shippers constantly have to excuse themselves for liking them, no, that's how the story is unfolding, stop apologizing for liking the game/story/characters for what they are. I have seen 50+ streamers watching this date and half of them repeatedly apologized for liking Cloti, stop it, it's not your fault or responsibility to apologize for others.
You mentioned that a 31yo shouldn't behave like this, I am 36 and I had the same reaction as you :)
Even if Cloti had a 30min full-penetration mocap sex scene in part 3, there will be still people arguing it isn't canon or it doesn't count, because they used a condom, lol.
Unless Square Enix or Nojima finally puts the last nail in the coffin it won't stop, maybe they should just marry at the end, hopefully that will clear up any doubts.
I say both Cloti and Clerith manipulate thing to their side advantage. If Cloti accept that Cloud does indeed love romantically both Aerith and Tifa & Clerith stop mentioning Tifa is a rebound for Aerith and accept that Cloud can fall for another after the loved one dies, it will be simple enough.
I agree with this. Even romantically, the love he has for Tifa differ from Aerith. His relationship with Yuffie and Barret is different even though both are his comrade.
I have different experience. I often saw Streamer who like CloudxAerith ship that need to excuse themselves for liking Clerith. There are some who made Aerith getting stab in back comment when a streamer liking Clerith date scene. There are some who constantly pressure a streamer to watch Tifa date scene after the streamer feel good in the date scene. Later when she watch it, the streamer like Tifa kiss scene and mention it was a good scene (i can't remember what the comment Cloti gave after that). There is also Cloti that purposely lead a streamer to get Tifa date even though he want to get Aerith.

Nah. This time they mention it because of Rebirth Ultimania that were released last month. Unlike Remake ultimania that stated all chp 14 resolution scene is canon (if i am not mistaken), Rebirth Ultimania mention the date in this game is not canon and compared it to a dating sim simulation. Hence, they use it as their argument.
I agree. In my opinion, they need to apease both fan by publically acknowledging Cloud did have romantic feeling for Aerith ( they confirmed Aerith for Cloud in Rebirth) and also make it clear while Cloud does have that feeling for Aerith, he eventually move on and start a relationship with Tifa as he also love Tifa.

The canon love interest is the one you, the player, prefer. It's a player choice. Whichever girl you prefer comes from your experiences in life and who you are as a person, it's subjective.

Aerith and Red’s dates were the best. The hand hold felt more intimate than the kiss for some reason. And Red had actual lore importance and was also adorable with the paw shake.
Maybe the Aerith date feels more intimate bc we can see their interactions and reactions with each other back to back. So it feels more meaningful?

I agree it is made to be about everyone sure but for anyone to downplay that it doesn't have small parts that specifically point at Cloud is definitely reaching a little...... and Nojima didn't disclude the romance aspect of the song
Cloud's literally the only one Aerith meets on a cobblestone street, the whole take my hand and never let it go goes with her intimate version of the date as well as other parts of the game I'm not gonna spoil. Cloud and Aerith have had a whole symbolism with hands thing going on since Advent Children, actually hell since the end of OG really.
The Loveless Date plays out so differently if you get Aerith compared to Tifa or Yuffie too. Aerith speaks as if she IS the goddess in the play and Tifa delivers her lines as if the goddess is separate entity from herself. Aerith also just fits the whole mage aesthetic being that she has a staff is her primary weapon, and small detail I missed at first but the goddess dress on the girls fits each of them differently as well. Tifas is a little on the short side and her heels show under the dress, Yuffies is too long and drags on the floor, Aerith's fits her perfectly as if it was tailored for her to wear specifically.
The whole of the Loveless play parallels Cloud and Aerith's story down to a T as well if you get the Aerith goddess version of the date, all the way down to the end of it where they show the burning clock. Not to mention the default on 4 out of the 6 dates is Aerith unless you get Yuffie or Tifa for obvious reasons
I feel like a lot of these small little details nicely weave the overall plot together but could also get missed based on who you pick. This is why I think the devs made that disclaimer the dates should be a separate entity from the actual plot of the game so that the characters feelings are portrayed more accurately to the story
I do believe players are given freedom of choice in this game but I also believe the devs drop very subtle crumbs on how the scenario should "technically be played".
Kinda like how Geralt can choose between Triss and Yennifer but Yennifer and the choices you make with her are the ones that are carried over into future installments and the moments with Triss aren't really mentioned again.

She also met Elmyra that way and like pez said, it could also be talking about the promise land. The exact names they officially stated in order were "Elmyra, her real mother, Zack, (and then) Cloud, even Tifa and Barret."
You really think if the song was mainly for Cloud, that they would have shown Tifa and Cloud touch and then hold hands while she's singing it for him, in your honest opinion? You can agree or disagree all you want but it's just a plain fact stated by the writers.

I highly doubt she'd be referring back to such a traumatic time in her life when she met Elmyra for the cobblestone bit to be honest, but that's just me, not sure how that downplays the fact that it's most likely Cloud she was referring to? I also totally think the promised land has its own role to play in the song as well-Nomura confirmed that was deliberate in an interview.
And yeah they would because that was a Tifa focused playthrough if you want Cloud to be with her-which only happens in her scenario if you date her and no one else's if I'm not mistaken. If you do an Aerith focused one that doesn't happen at all which is what I was saying- and you're more likely than not to get hers if you have a casual stance about who you get in the game unless you're specifically gunning for Tifa or Yuffie since you get Aerith as the Goddess in the play on all other 4 dates by default aside from theirs....but regardless there are differences in all of them

I noticed a few other hidden details in the differences between their Loveless play as well, very small but clearly intentional. Aerith wrote this song for everyone yes, but she also includes bits that address only to Cloud as a hidden message. You either get it or you don’t get it. If you get it, you have more insight into the lore, if not then all good you can just enjoy the game as it is 😊
@@quangthaitruong7960 Thanks! I'm glad you understand my thoughts :) Aerith doesn't get nearly enough love here on RUclips so I feel like lots of this stuff is missed since shes not as popular as Tifa.
And I'm not by any means trying to disregard what the devs said in the interview-what they say goes......But I can't understand people who just flat out use the quote that the songs "about everyone" to then flip it so they can completely invalidate the small parts of the song that DO refer to Aerith's romantic feelings for Cloud.
Some of the parts are so specifically referring to him that it couldn't be more obvious, and for some reason those feelings she's trying to express in her song are usually ignored or brushed aside by players that think she belongs with Zack or whatever. I just feel that's a little disingenuous towards what her character is trying to tell us in a not so subtle way.
And he is a part of "everyone she knows" isn't he? Why can't she be singing about her feelings for him in addition to her love she has about everyone else?
This is her moment, her time to shine while she's out for the first time in the world with her friends before she meets her demise, and she probably won't even be in the next game.
It feels completely natural in a narrative sense to let her have her moment in the limelight in both the play and the song. The devs want you to feel like you know her, like meeting her has had an impact on you just like it has on Cloud.
Sure players might pick Tifa or Yuffie first, but you're missing the heart and soul of the story imo and going for the overall less emotional route. And you can't tell me the devs want you to completely crap on Aerith and never see her route of the story either- you literally can't have the story of FF7 without her.
If they had one date they wanted you to see more than the others I really do feel it's hers since this installment is mostly about her immenent death. The whole game leads up to that moment, and when it does happen you're supposed to feel Hollow like Cloud does-but you don't get that as much or at all if you don't invest some time in her.
All of the buildup from Remake into Rebirth is also to show you the potential for what her and Cloud COULD have had. They had alot of bumps in the road regarding Zack being an ex, Tifa's feelings on the matter and Clouds identity. They finally just start to make progress on their relationship and are moving forward but it gets cut short and Aerith's time is up. You don't get to see that potential of what could be between them bloom, and that's why it hurts even more when she dies.
Not only that, but after Aerith's done singing her heart out to "everyone" and they go on the date, Cloud specifically holds her hand if you get the intimate version. This is after she just got done singing a non optional song to him and the others about holding her hand and never letting it go on stage.
And yes, all the dates are supposed to be non-canon. But for some reason hers is the only one they tried not to change and kept true to the OG🤷🏻♀️
Just my opinion in particular about how I view the story, but to each their own of course. 😊
