    Strikingly fair hands-on review of the K-3 Mark III. Maybe a bit over-enthusiastic about the video department, and certainly intended to sell the camera, but actually Ricoh's designers did such a fine job with it, and it is such a competent photographic tool that it doesn't need all that much advertising. This is one heck of a camera, and so much fun to use.

    The K3iii also does live AF in video with KAF4 lenses. There's a new firmware on the way which will allow astrotracer without gps. The K3iii can tag gps from phone by blutooth.

    105 percent magnification on viewfinder is like f.95 viewfinder lens relative speaking. That is why they are relatively brighter than the K1

    Nice review. What lens did you use for taking still images on this video? I noticed its purple fringe is so obvious. Thanks

    Not much of a review, more like an introduction. I would like to see how the AF performs with various lenses, lighting conditions and fast action. I'd like to see the noise at various ISO settings. How it compares to others and what effect that NRreduction chip has. etc.

    I see many purple fringing, perhaps the lens?

      It would be the lens + low light. Easily fixable in post.

    Nice one, but too expensive and for enthusiasts it is better to wait a year or so, rumors announces a new K90, i will wait for this or maybe the Canon RC as the new entry-FF.

    Thanks for reminding us that Pentax still makes cameras

      Pentax don’t make many cameras (currently just 3 different DSLR models) but they are fantastic. The K-1 full frame is still one of the best all weather/landscape/architecture/low light DSLRs ever made and a lot of people really appreciate how optical viewfinders connect you with the scene so much better that mirror less does.

    Like EVERY other review, this one fails in the same place, by not plugging in an external recorder and finding out if the HDMI output issue has been corrected. I'd love to bring my Atomos Shogun in to the Melbourne store to run this test.
    This is the "Return" of true IBIS on a Pentax, after being disabled after the K-5 models.

    I still have quite a bit of Pentax gear but the less than stellar AF performance of my K5IIs and K3 put me off that system. Now many years later they come up with an improved version (wo. a tiltable screen!!) and charge a whopping US $2000 for an old piece of camera tech. I simply could not justify paying that amount of dough without feeling stupid when there is a full frame K1 to be had for less.

    Is this their flagship? Why not FF?

    • @Needacreate
      @Needacreate 3 года назад +2

      Because Ricoh remains committed to both its APS-C and FF users. Their current FF flagship DSLR is the Pentax K-1 II. Though not official yet (as far as I know), development seems to have begun on a successor, tentatively referred to as K-1 III.

      Because its a Sports camera

      because you need reach for sports

    • @sulev111
      @sulev111 3 года назад

      lol those answers... It's their flagship APS-C. FF is K1II. K3-III is not a sports camera, it lacks the buffer and writing speed for that. And most sports photographers use FF cameras, because they need good high ISO performance. Reach has never been an issue. Even Pentax has an 150-400mm lens.

    looks like another sponsored review, not a single word about the serious problems of this camera

      Lol, I don't think Pentax really do the "sponsored reviews", if yes, their market shares will much better.

      I'm thinking about buying this camera in the future. What types of problems have you come across?
