One of the main things that separates your channel from other "motivators" is your humility, specifically about the fact that you had challenges during your runs, etc. People are inspired by "realness," and this actually gives your words more authenticity, as true humility and vulnerability draw people in. It's a sign of genuine strength and maturity and is the opposite of weakness. Respect.
Appreciate your words man👊🏼
So true
Well said sir and ACCURATE!
Well said
Kiddies will always dig it..😊
Retired armor officer here. I recently found this channel and appreciate you perspective. I shared this channel with my 26 yr old son because because the wisdom shared is for everyone. Never give up.
I love that you mentioned the innate ability for the military to suck the fun out of things, it's trippy when it first happens. Amazing story, thank you for uploading.
sure as shit is NOTHING like in those cool hooooah armed forces commercials ~lol
Thats why we called the Marine Corps, "The Suck".
The military had a LOT of fun to it also.
@@johnnunn8688 Absolutely, I would not change it for anything.
The millitary is the govt and if the govt finds out people are having fun or just not hating life, they will put a stop to it.
Good stuff as always! My Bro from flight school went on to fly for the 160th “Night Stalkers” out of Ft. Campbell. He flew a lot of missions with the SEALS and other spec ops. Sadly, he was killed in Afghanistan in 2007 when his MH-47 crashed. Much respect for you dudes! Y’all are an elite fraternity.
Respect
RIP Night Stalker🇺🇸
🙏
I completely agree. If you don't fail from time to time, you're not pushing yourself hard enough. Keep up the good work on these videos. They are much appreciated.
At 61 years old I love listening to your insight on life, and military stories. I hope you do not think of yourself as a failure. Nope! You have done and continue to do amazing things in life, you have been given, or should I say worked for an amazing seat on the bus of life. Keep safe and continue with the amazing life stories, so the rest of us can enjoy your journey.
Thanks again. Just Damm cool shit.
Thank you brother for those sincere words. For real, thank you👊🏼
Pregnant man suit. Haha. Boy did I laugh and then he says no thank you. Laughed again. Man. I’ve learned and been totally interested and dig deep into my own shit. Then he says something like that and makes me crack up. Man I just love this channel!!!
👊🏼
Good video bro. Switching it up to lighter moments I like it. Some people can’t always handle the darker tougher topic’s always, they are on a different step of the process. So awesome. Coming in HOT as shit and yard sale on the deck. Lol gear everywhere. Killing it bro. Later.
👊🏼
Only jump I ever did in the military was a water jump out of a DH47 Caribou at 1200 feet into a lake. One T10, no reserve and just an hour of ground training. Great experience. As for runs, I couldn't run out of sight on a dark night. I could ruck for miles but as soon as they started to run... I always tried my best but there is nothing more humiliating then the whole troop being ordered to turn around and come back for you; except maybe getting carried back to camp on a stretcher. Only some 25 years later when I had heart surgery for a collapsed mitral valve was I told I always had a heart problem and I was lucky I hadn't dropped dead during my nearly ten years in uniform. I felt vindicated because I know I tried my best, I wasn't a lazy S.O.B.; something which had haunted me for decades.
Havnt even thought about those Aircraft in years. We had a C 47 Caribous I think. Memories.
No reserve? Damn. Water isn't all that soft if you hit it fast enough.....
@@meself349 they said there wasn't time to train on a reserve deployment and besides the T10 was so reliable the odds of a malfunction were very low, low enough they were prepared to take the isk and let us jump. Besides, as everyone knows if it doesn't open you can take it back for a full refund...
Glad you got the answer! Thank you for your service!
I can relate and could listen to your stories for hours
On it brother👊🏼
Thank you for your frank discussions and honesty. I am a vet (uscg) and have been a LEO for 22 yrs. Mid career I almost lost all I had to some stupid, selfish mistakes. I payed a heavy price, but got my life back to the manageable level. Thanks for having the balls to open yourself up to scrutiny in the name of helping others! Karma will come back around in a good way if you keep it up. People ask me why I still talk about my mistakes... the answer is simple... so others dont make same mistakes.
Your not bullshitting about static line parachuting. Broke my leg in AB School 21 years ago probably one of my biggest military failures...yeah that is one I think about a lot.
I'm glad to see you're turning your life around. I know people who would give anything to have had the opportunities you've had but not able to due to physical and mental limitations (e.g. vision issues and adult asperger syndrome).
Being grateful every morning starts the day in a forward direction and promises that if you've done your best that day it will end in a positive and rewarding way. Perfect and thanks.
Love the insight on your amazing military career. Keep the videos coming.

Big Respect for your honesty. No sugar coating just keeping it real.
HaHaHa! Yea again more truth, I'm retired Navy EOD and have been through skydiving school. Didn't go to Fort Benning like the Army. Just a local shop just south of San Diego. Got like 2 days of classroom training and a couple jumps off a stair platform to practice PLF's, and then we were in the air at 1200 feet for static. I was terrified but got it done. Freefall was next. Some dudes got it instantly, I really struggled. Similar to you can throw 2 guys in a lake and 1 will effortlessly float and 1 will drown. I was always good in the water but really struggled in the air. I did eventually pass but never liked it. Especially when the equipment started coming on. Some of my friends were F'n Ninjas in the air from the first dive. Me, always loved dive days and hated jump days. That was 15 years ago and my heart still races when I smell jet exhaust.
As a former Army SF JM who still jumped into my 50s - great video. 👍
I went to U.S. Army jump school at Ft. Benning in 1986. One piece of advice I got was "try make sure you don't have any SEALS or Marines in your stick, cause you'll spend every day in the gig pit doing remedial PT" The SEALS were in great shape out of BUDS and I'm sure the the physical portion of the school wasn't much of a challenge for them and the Marines were just crazy fucks who wanted to make sure everyone knew they were Marines. Once again, great content you are sharing
Yo bro one of those crazy Marines here. Went thru Benning in 86 myself class 29-86. What class were you?
You answered my question why you didn't go para in the legion 🤙great explanation
Went to airborne school at Benning in 2014, and four years in 82nd. All the way!
Hey, could you make an episode takling about your journey through all the Bud/s phases? I know alot of people finds it very interesting!
👌🏼
Love the stories Sir and thank you ..Happy thanksgiving from Oklahoma USA 🇺🇸

Can you tell us more about your selection stories? Maybe do a couple videos on your experience in BUD/s and your experiences in the Legion selection respectively.
Maybe a multi part series on both programs, a lot of young guys are very curious about both I think it would be great for viewership.

HAHAAHAHAH!!!! "The Military can suck the fun out of anything!" I have never heard a more true statement! I'm diggin' your content, man...keep up the good work.

Still binge watching on Thanksgiving.
Sort of a blessing in disguise not making it to the GCP or GCM, the guys rarely make it out of it with both knees...
2rep° was incredibly tough , and thise jumps LITERALLY have caused me the most intense neck pain and been in oain for years now bcuz of those jumps especially when doing a downwind jump ouch 😢 I miss the rep

Shit ooookay now I understand why you don't want or just can't join our SF (1er RPIMa, 13RDP, Commandos Marine) or our 2e REP GCP or GCM. You've done your time and true enough, age does comes after us after a while. You were 34 in Castelnaudary, that makes you 38 or 39 now, I get it my man. I wish you get the citizenship though to have more "liberté" but anyway, you deserve it my man. Merci pour ton engagement.

Best description of static line jumping ever!!!!!!
Plus so right the military could suck the fun out of anything
World wide military bosses could put an insomniac to sleep with their boredom input!!!
I met my First Seal Trainee at FT. Benning during Airborne school(68). All of us trainees were taught to shout "AIRBORNE" after all evolutions, etc. This guy was unique because HE always responded with an "URK-URK" a copy of a sea lion call! I've always wondered if that ws his invention or did UDT school use it? p.s. After awhile, the Black hats(instructors) just ignored it with a shake of their head and a muttered oath about "crazy Seals"! They were unknown back then.
"Pregnant man suit, no thank you!" That should be a tshirt.
It's actually refreshing ot hear a former SEAL say they were scared and especially that they "don't like heights." That was great. Makes the rest of us feel normal.
would it be possible if you're able to make a video about Americans currently in the French Foreign Legion and your experience with them?
Ive only run into a few
I saw a documentary while back, of a French Recon unit, the tools they carried on their jump was insane, saws, shovels, one guy landed in a swamp, they had to retrieve him, quickly drown or hypothermia, luckily luckily the rescued him. Great Channel and stories!
Nephew ❤
Broooo…. The way you talked about jumping out of an airplane like you did…props man. You’re right, the military DOES suck the fun out of things lol. As a army guy, I never saw the need to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. I was quite ok with ground pounding lol. Your insights on this topic were awesome. As always, thanks for sharing this!
Nasty leg…😂
"the military has the abilities to suck the fun out of everything"
things only become funny years after you think about it and are away from that reality😂😂😂
But Legion dont doing skydiving?
Love watching your show!!! I know what you mean by hitting the ground like a "Sack of Potatoes". I was an Airborne Infantryman in the Army. Night jumps is a must at 800 feet AGL with a 70 pound pack or more with weapon, I was an M-60 machine gunner jumping out of a C-130. Airborne Infantry is a step up from regular infantry and Air Assault, but a step down from the Ranger Regiments, we are just lowly humble Paratroopers of Big Army. I remember SEAL candidates going through my class at the US Army Airborne School at Ft. Benning, these guys tried to just go through as regular Joes just to get this qualification over with. The Black Hats just seem to kind of fuck with these guys along with the SF candidates who need to be Parachute Qualified to get to their next school but to no avail.😂😂😂I got fucked with by a Black Hat who was stationed in Hawaii at the 25th Infantry and gave me the name "Pineapple" because I came from Hawaii. He smoked me most of the time but made me laugh as he smiled telling me how he enjoyed being there. He made fun of his stay in Hawaii and gave me pride, joy, and encouragement as he made me do push ups and flutter kicks. I kind of laughed through Jump School but there were other Black Hats are going to target me. Made it through ground and tower week and made my 5 jumps easy. Staff Sergeant Chancellor the Black Hat who smoked me and made me laugh really helped me get through Airborne School because he called me "Pineapple". 😂😂😂😂 Being a Paratrooper is no joke, you will crash to land. Paratroopers in Big Army as in injuries is big. I have a left knee which bothers me once in a while.
Your story is one that I lived as well, except I was not from Hawaii. I have a ton of static line jumps and attest to everything that you wrote about. I was 1/75 84-85 and still miss it every day. I went back to a reserve reconnaissance unit in 2007 and deployed t Afghanistan, now I have two replaced knees many other injuries but still push myself every day, that is probably why I love listening to Taylor’s Channel.
Taylor thank you for showing us the discipline level that we should be at.
"the military has the ability to suck the fun out of EVERYTHING" Oh hell yeah, buddy! I tried to join the Ft Ord Skydiving club while I was in the Long Range Surveillance unit (airborne). They wanted me to pay 60$ a jump and have to live under the thumb of my 1sgt in the unit who was the "king of the club" with his wife. Fuck that. The Army was already paying me to be on Jump Status.
😅😅😅 this why I said I just wanna be normal 11b, stick me in the back of a bradley in Mosul. Lol and I'm straight with that. Leave the high speed shit up to hard core guys like this. Yeah I'm mech inf. But I'm not fat! Lol much respect bro. Keep sendin the message.
I didn’t know that was dangerous like that That would be better called sky dying 💀
Can you tell us what the FFL have for breakfast lunch and dinner?
Rusty nails and bread
i wish i was half the man you are
Respect 🫡
I never had the desire to ‘jump’, I will stick to HRST.
All the props to the ones that do jump.
I had my AB status pulled after my accident in SF Selection in 2004. I wanted to earn my 18D to help others on a team. A dream unfulfilled but, no regrets. 12 years of USMC & 4 with the WVNG.
TCAV, This is one of your best videos yet. For those who don’t truly know, his words are 100 percent accurate. I’m an old USN EOD guy and my military jumping mirrors his exactly. Made me smile as I remembered my days. And yes, I have a mechanical knee to prove it😖
Appreciate that brother👊🏼🔱
Does the FFL recognize your SEAL quality? Do they let you wear your Trident and Jump wings?
No
That sucks. 😞@@tcavofficial
Son ❤
Mff, rslc, even ftx and going to the range. The Army has the ability to turn any almost amazing camping trip with guns into a stupid guided tour while wearing a helmet and Yuma was interesting, remember all the signs for water for sale?
Living right next to Ft Bragg, near the gunnery ranges and drop zones , affords me the opportunity to be able to watch the young men and women practice jumping out of planes and choppers. I have a lot of respect for them all. When I was a teenager, my grandfather was an airplane mechanic and worked out of a sport parachute center, so I learned how to jump much earlier than most folks do. I had 45 jumps before the guy who owned the dz and taught me to jump was killed with 12 other guys in a crash. I never jumped again. My dad was a master rigger, among many other things he’d done over the course of his life.
There’s also a sport parachuting center about 5 miles from me as well. The Red Daggers (SF jump team) practices out of there and I think they just hosted world championships recently as well. It is pretty cool to have both sides of parachuting so close together. But , everyone that I know that jumps both sides all say that the Army does take the fun out of it. Most would rather tandem jump than have to do a static line. One of my good friends is medically retired because he had a canopy failure at around 300’ and burned in. He said that the only reason he’s alive is that God blew him towards some trees and they slowed him down enough that the landing didn’t kill him. Life is fragile and can be brief. We should make the most of every day we get
"The difference between failure and fucking up" Oh Yea !!
Something I've noticed: You speak differently depending on which persona you're in, Navy SEAL or Legionnaire.
Crew Chief on C-130s - used to hate doing static line drops - lots of work to configure the aircraft and they were big gaggle fucks for the most part. Lots of waiting around. It was called No Hope Pope for a reason. 1 thing though, used to get called “Fly Boy” which made me laugh because I wasn’t the one jumping out of the M.F. USAF 1980-2002
Excellent explanation about the way you view skydiving, vs. HALO, your age, and why you chose not to go Airborne with the Legion... Only RESPECT for your honesty.
As Clint Eastwood once said: "A man's got to know his limitations."
You know, and that's a fine thing! Be safe out there!
@ShawnRyanShowOffical @JockoPodcast @MikeRitland
LFG!
Shawn Ryan for sure, would be awesome. Probably would be a part 2 type interview.
He’d have to come back to the states though first
THIS WAS THE BEST EVER. YOU ENJOYED TELLING IT AND I ENJOYED LISTENING. You are in the groove.
Looking to join the military in 2025. Thanks for the guidance and wisdom!
Whoa...i just jumped into this by a "pure coincidence". I watch Mike-drop etc....but i instantly saw..."this is somthing else"...
The problem i have with all those "famous" interviews is that they are all so "all-american" prepared.
And YES...most of the guys that nowadays end up there are super exaggerated to get into it.
But then again, i've seen lots of those who are just there to "be somewhere else".
I personally was desperate to go to swedish SOF once signing up. I felt from my very heart that i needed "discipline"...and i serioulsy have a hard time with authority. Treat me well and i do the same...and just the opposite. I've continued to serve for 20 years.
My older brother also served as a ranger and i surely looked up to him...but he was in general recorded as a "fuck up" AND "a great soldier". He had shitloads of reprimands of from not showing up on roll call etc. He had a blast...simple as that. He partied hard etc. But he also suffered hard (in this case just before military and in service). In a sense this reminds me of him.
I went in like 3 years later...to me i STILL heard about him and his pals. To me i just felt " how did he even find the time? This is like full time?!". The thing is, that i heard the actual shit that they did....they skiied from their tent like 12km/7mi just to party...like at 2200...and beeing back before roll call. Just the fking skiing (or running at summer) must have taken at least 3h in military skiis = barely no sleep.
At a visitors week, i brought my dad and my brother....Even three fucking years later the officers would cheer him. "HEY!! CPL @#### how you doing?"
Not what you need to hear, but i would love to have a drink with you mate! I wish you the best!
I love skydiving man. I like live next door to the unit.
I always look forward to your vids! 💪
I only jumped as a civilian. With AFF, it was free fall from the first jump, no tandem. I stopped for various reasons but, it was the best fucking thing I’ve ever done!
Life is as serious as a 1500 foot jump. Respect that sh:t, own that moment & know that life is a blink. There is so much to learn & so much to experience. Thank you for sharing ✌️
Man that intro makes me miss San Diego
Served with 4 para loved the jumps wilf england
Jumped once in the civilian world. One of the best experiences of my life. And yes It was tandem. lol. Definitely felt like I was in one of those “baby bjorn”, harnesses. I’m a small dude and my instructor was about a foot taller than me. Looked funny as hell but I didn’t give a fuck. 😂 great experience, definitely recommend it to everyone at least once. 🤙🏻
People have no clue the amount of static injuries when a company sized element or bigger jump 900 to 1200ft its from door to floor in 35 to 50 secs
I remember Fort Benning Airborne school back in 86...great experience and defiantly a young man's game. I enjoyed hearing the static line stories...totally agree.
Can you do a vid on the most elite legion units who's at top how does it rank in leaderboard. Did you have to do a Commando Course etc what you got to do and how fit you got to be what kind of tests and how that compares.to dev gru
Keep them coming brother.
Hey brother update: we now have a jump training cin over here at the new NSW training complex now at the end of the strand.
NIIICE👌🏼
This is fun. I was in the 82nd 2/505th PIR. I can attest the army static line jumping is not fun. Just make sure you get those leg straps right. I ve landed in the trees twice. First time the pilots missed sicily dz at Bragg and mass tac 780 or so out of 800 in the trees. I was #12 on the roster so ended walking around the woods all night help guys find the dz. I managed to get "stuck" only a foot or two off the ground. So I popped my chest strap and kinda slid out of the harness. Softest landing I ever had lol. The second time sucked bad. I ended up upside down, head towards the ground with both my riser wrapped around one leg pulling me into the this weird knee to chest form dangling. Busted out the multi tool and cut those risers and fell four-ish feet on the back of my neck. Another time I had my helmet ripped off my head from the risers. That kevlar helmet never did get found. It probably fell 600 feet.
I remember in US Army airborne school, one of the students had to pop his reserve on his first jump with the down-and-away method. Turned out it was also his first time on an airplane
Yessirrrr… we’ve all seen them boys static jumping where one poor mf has a malfunctioning Shute n he eats a hard yank by the line n he tumbles… and he falls….. aaaasnd still falls….. n somehow he gets his reserve out n open so low it’s barely even visible.
And then theirs always one dude thats gonna smack the shit outta the only truck in the entire damn field.. sounding like a boulder falling on it he somehow rolls over n off the far side upside down backwards smh lol. Good sht fellas.
Bro, your storytelling is great man. i've watched all your story videos and it's awesome hear you out, very inspiring.
I appreciate that!
Static line is beyond obsolete in most cases, airborne school was a huge disappointment, I thought it would be tough, it's just jogging or maybe it's yyjogging with a soft J, but its waiting in line and going to the huddle house, then getting assigned to a leg unit afterwards.
Outstanding🤘No Hendrix if he didn't jack his leg up .
I was a paratrooper in the army yeah the shit kinda sucked especially all the prep and wait but did it for the extra cash..lol
I can't wait to hear about the scuba training being a master diver/instructor in the civilian world.
Good idea for a vid👌🏼
D Day airborne jumpers must be remembered whenever the topic of parachuting is up. God bless ya T.
I hated feeling like I knew I forgot to pack my shoot a certain way it hit me every time. I would be sure I was going to die, but for some reason, I’d say fuck it and roll out the door anyway.
Guys can blow into Mexico. I almost pissed my pants at that
Challenges at OD WARCOM: 1 coming V Pass 24H Special VIP
You have the rest of your life to activate your reserve for a complete malfunction😂
"Pregnant man Suit". Yup that ones going in the box for sure. Really enjoyed all these stories your orating style is easy to listen to. What sort of shenanigan's does the Legion E4 mafia get into. The classic throw rocks into a hat while you wait for transportation type stuff? The meat and potatoes descriptions are great but I wonder given the cultural diversity what sort of stuff people get into.
I can get into it for sure🤙🏼
Them missions must have been some buzz mate. Some experience. What it’s all about. All I do Is watch military documentaries 😂 yous lads are savage, big respect
Let me know if u ever come to Canada to speak would love to meet u and listen to u live
I have 174 jumps and still get stressed on the ride up to altitude!!
Good Boy or Pound it 😂😂😂 Damn it 😢PROUDEST Uncle 😊
Good stuff. I put down my beer and did 100 pushups
In my old Squadron a guy died doing JM DUTIES HIS reserve handle got pulled in the A/C: AND UNFORTUNATELY HE WAS DRUG OUT + PASSED AWAY.
RIP to your homie. Respect🔱
Your a living legend Sir!
Impressive 😎👍🇨🇵🇺🇸
