    Can we take a moment to appreicate that not only did these 2 women go straight for a friendly hug when the battle was done, but Nicka went full hype-girl when Ami was declared the winner and seemed to just genuinely be stoked about their sport getting the recognition. • @abram730
      @abram730 4 месяца назад

      @@Sokara468 I've looked at the scoring and it's all subjective. They had 5 sliders for the Olympic judging.
      (technique, vocabulary, originality, execution and musicality)
      Each slider is 20% of the overall.
      If you say look at the sliders for Raygun's matches it was 2 to 133. She was scored more creative by the Spanish(Jess) and Korean(Virus) judges for her first round.
      The Ukrainian Judge Intact, most reflected the viewers reaction. He was not having it.
      Overall +47.0% (T:+10% V:+9% O:+8.8% E:+11.2% M:8%)
      Gymnastics has a much more fleshed out system with difficulty levels, points and deductions.

    • @Sokara468
      @Sokara468 4 месяца назад

      @@abram730 I totally understand where you are coming from. One improvement would be more transparency, showing the audience the margins rather than just red or blue. My understanding is that gymnastics scoring is quite rigid (execution vs. difficulty), and I would worry that it might stifle the creativity and improvisation of breaking. It's a tricky and delicate matter, for sure.

    Why are people pissed with this?? You could not do basic Tauba Tauba steps and want to put down these amazingly acrobatic break dancers who are literally burning the floor with their moves. If rhythmic gymnastics can be an Olympic sport so can this. Try to do even 2% of what they are doing before you easily point fingers at this sport!
    Kabbadi and chess fans can still protest about non inclusion without putting down other sports!

Even though breaking isn’t in LA 2028 I hope at minimum Australia can apologise to these two women at Brisbane 2032 even if it’s not an event and just entertainment. The sport deserved better recognition in 2024 Paris.

    Just think the immense core strength needed and some of these moves are similar to male floor gymnastics! Plus, balancing body weight all on the head is insane and prone to injury or worse.
    I'd say this sport is worthy of being an Olympic event. The only issue is that unlike gymnastics, diving, figure skating, synchronised swimming...etc where form and execution has a black and white standard (and even has book guidelines for the judges), break dance or break doesn't really have a guideline in terms with specific point system (or penalties). It needs fleshing out, and then it would be ready to be a permanent event. 😊
