Really helpful mate, interestingly the majority of repairers turn out to be simple. Thanks for putting your knowledge out, you always keep it simply. I recently did my 3 carbs saving myself labour cost. Carb kits were $120.00 for the 3 and I was quoted $325.00 all up. So I saved $ 205. Aus dollars from watching you. Awesome

Ok, I will admit I'm late for the party! But this video was very educational. I'm currently looking for a jon boat and small tiller engine (9.9, 15, or 25HP). Before this video, I looked at tiller motors as a very complicated mess that needed to be a new model and to look pristine in order to work properly. I see I was wrong. A motor can look very rough and be older, but still have plenty of life left in it. Thank you for teaching me this sir. Will subscribe.

Back in the 1980s the early model 9.9 and 15 s had a smaller water tube i think it was 5/16 anyway you had to pull the power head off
To get to the end of the tube the grommet at the end of the tube swelled up causing a small volume of water to come into the engine making it overheat. You must replace that grommet. Good luck 👍 i want to see you get that evinrude going

I am voting for the Etec! It sounded so smooth and I thing their technology with ceramics is pretty advanced. But, Those Yamahas are soooo durable. thanks for your efforts.

My favourite motor brand is Johnson, probably because my first boat motor was a Johnson 75hp and I never had a problem with it. Anyway love from Sweden, this video was amazing

I think that they should redesign the carb so the do not have any cap over the adjustment, It was very annoying on one of my Honda an Yamaha.

13:30 I wanted to buy a mercury 9,9 4 stroke that sounds similar to this one. On idle the work isn't smooth, it's vibrating a little bit. Is it just a trait of this motor or something wrong?

You ought to vacation somewhere coastal with minimal tools, find a dirt cheap motor on marketplace/craigslist and do a video of fixing it. Just to show it isn't where you live, it is knowing what to look for. I'd suggest Corpus Christi, TX (where I live) cause I'd like to buy you a beer (or other beverage).
Awesome job with the videos, you make me want to get an old motor and do this :)

I really like the paint scheme on that white and grey evinrude 15 think that was my favorite. That 115 etec sounds vicious. I like all the brands though.
