Yes, Perth is the best place to live in Australia, and perhaps the world. Seriously. Its state economy is incredibly resilient, making multi billion dollar surpluses when everyone else was going backwards. Barely touched by Covid-19, only 12 days of lockdown. Its state energy policy insulated it against national and global price rises. The quality of life is excellent. Perth is clean, pretty, and has some of the best city beaches in the world. Employment is easy to get. The low population density means endless outdoor adventures all to yourself. Property prices have risen but are not crazy like the east coast. No road tolls, no paid parking at beaches, and traffic jams are tiny and rare compared to most places. All Australian capital cities have great attributes, but Perth and W.A in general are hard to beat.

@@Paddy234 that's true, but let's remember that the places where no one wants to live don't have this problem. Our current Federal govt has opened the spigots to immigration, which is fine, unless you have nowhere to house the new Aussies.

"Isolation" is NOT a REAL-WORLD problem. If .. you really feel .. the need .. to travel to other AUSTRALIAN cities.
On the upside, Bali, Singapore & South-East Asia are just so much easier/cheaper .. to fly to.
Less traffic, easier to get around ( much quicker too). The cheapest capital/ major city real estate. Warm. Beaches. People. West is best.
    Better, more substantial houses. Safer.

Perth is actually older than adelaide. perth establshed in 1829 and adelaide in 1836. the newness that is described of perth, is because back in the 50 and 60s alot of the old buildings in perth was demolished.

Hard to tell if this is the right platform for this. But ill try anyways as this is still considered business. Given the present conditions, is it better to invest
into Real Estates or into Stocks? Which would yield better output.

    • @frankdouglas1562

Has got to be Stocks but of course, you
have to be well informed on the right ones or better still, get a pro to handle it for you (that
way, you save time and minimise risks). Made my first million this way earlier this year. One more thing, one can wake you up by 2am to complain about a leaking pipe, the other can't.

Perth is near some of the best wine regions in the world. Swan Valley .. ACTUALLY IN PERTH ITSELF .. ( quite unlike Adelaide where you have to travel some distance OUTSIDE Adelaide) and the world famous Margaret River wine region nearby south of Perth.
Adelaide is still a great city with also .. a Mediterranean climate. Real benefit is that Adelaide is only an 8 hour ( or so) drive to Melbourne ( but both Perth & Melbourne do BOTH have airports. With many flights each day.
Also .. is a DIRECT flight (Qantas-BA) between London & Perth.
Perth has most "English" expats. Most South Africans/ professionals too.

Where can visitors stay away from the city centre self catered? Most apartments are double the price they are in the East. Most of the Airbnb are rooms in people’s homes and a lot more expensive than the East coast. The beaches are so poorly serviced for accommodation choices.

All the talk of Perth having no old buildings. It does have a port City/Suburb of Fremantle which the majority of the buildings were built by convicts. I think many poeple think Fremantle is a another city down the road like Geelong from Melbourne. It is part of the Perths metro area, right in the centre of the coastline.and is the jewel of Perth in my opinion.

  • @duncanmackenzie4076

And all the talk anout Adelaide's wine regoins, Perth does have the Swan Valkey near the city. And the great southern wine regoin a few hours away where Margerat river which only started in the 70s and has nearly 30% of Australias premuin wine market. And when it comes to food Perth is far more diverse in immigrant culutres and WA can produce every type of food given ymthe climates from the northern tropics down the the southern temperate climates silimar to Adelaide. And seafood, there is no comparison given the length and variety of WAs coast.

The housing shortage in Perth can't be overstated. It really is so bad here and it currently takes 2 years to build a new home here due to the Tradie Shortage driven by MC Gowan's disastrous incompetent policies. This is one of the many reasons he recently resigned. We are building a house ourselves and it will take 2-2.5 years to complete, no-where else in the developed world will you find this

I don't get this whole Perth is ''too isolated nonsense'' For me, all cities in Australia could be considered very isolated and don;t even get me started on New Zealand...that is isolation...
I am from Scotland. I can take a bus or train ride to at least 5 different cities including cities in England, all within an hour or two from Edinburgh, not to mention a 2 hour flight to Spain and Italy.. For me Perth(albeit not been there yet) is a WIN. What can I get in Melbourne that I cannot get in Perth? Perth seems to have all you need for a city, so why bother about it being so far from another. Also being that much closer to SE Asia for a getaway is a huge plus over the east side. Perth, you got be like butter on toast. I'm coming for ya.
