Just listen to that thing rev...
This is the best review of the 992 GT3 I have seen yet. And I have watched them all twice. Great job👍🏼
The brushed wheels look so much better than the black ones
you won't feel 5kg difference
You can actually. It won't handle as well.
@@1996ChevroletImpalaSS sure Porsche got that worked out
@@1996ChevroletImpalaSS full of sheet
@@1996ChevroletImpalaSS you will absolutely not feel 5 Kg difference. The weight of the driver can differ by much more than 5 KG. In a car this heavy, 5 KG is nothing. This is totally disregarding the fact that this new car has a wider track, slightly more power, even quicker gear box and much better front end turn in due to double wishbone suspension. When all this is considered, 5 KG is less than nothing
The more weight is because of the the weight added fromm the particular filter
I love that naturally aspirated flat 6. I’d like to hear a direct comparison with the new naturally aspirated flat plane crank V8 in the 2023 Z06. That engine revs to 8600 RPM. It’s the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever in a production car.
It also sounds disgusting and has ruined the distinctive soundtrack of the Corvette.
@@Codatronic it’s a much different type of sound than the throaty muscle car of the past. So it’s appropriate to have a high revving, high pitched sound given that this is now a mid engine car. I wouldn’t say it’s ruined anything. The past is the past. The old sound just doesn’t match up with the mid engine design.
Heavye = Better is the same thing that saying Ignorance is strength.
Great review! The revs from that engine sounded fantastic, until I heard that engine in the GT4RS-truly epic!
What a MASTERPIECE! This is the Porsche for me! Because they fitted this with a manual, Porche definitely earned my respect.
A wonderful car! Great review, like this dude's take.
Great detailed review!
Can’t wait to take a look at the long list of companies. The blue chips.
How do you renew the particulate filter when it’s used/choked with soot.
Fantastic car - my choice would be the 991.2 though. Other than the double wishbone up front the cars are basically the same except the looks. 991.2 GT3 looks FAR better than the 992.
I’ve not heard of a desire by the public to have ever larger sports cars. I expect that the great increase in size over 997 Gen. II of 991s and 992, is forced upon Porsche, in order to pass more and more stringent crash tests. I don’t know how Lotus get away with it, with Exige and Else, but seeing as they are lighter, they only have to hit, or in side impact tests, be hit, by concrete blocks of the same mass as the car.
Perhaps surveys of Porsche owners showed a demand for more presence on the road. I know not, but think 996/997, was as large as the 911 needed to be.
5 kg??? That title form 5 kg? I thught it was 150 kg or something...
5 kg isn't exactly a significant weight gain...
It makes me wonder if Porsche Engineers took Adderall and wanted to make the lightest 911 of this generation, less rules and regs limiting them, how light that car would be.. Or where it would be flimsy or rigid..
This is an engine intended for the races
Great car.
It's way more fun than the last gen. It is heavy though.
... heavy maybe, but it weighs the exact same as the last gen.
It's heavier because of the particulate filter
@@romeolambo9958 Nope, actually the particulate filter is part of the exhaust which is lighter overall. The OPF reduces sound as a side effect, so the side baffles were eliminted and the overall weight is less than 991 non-OPF system. The weight primarily comes from the chassis simply being larger and stiffer
Cayman all the way,,,,
I'm drooling for the GT4 RS
Poor mans Porsche FTW 😂
EscapePlan They used to say that about at 924Which back in the day are used to raise them with my 280 Z, never lost the race
this is the sound of ... loosing your driving license
GT4 RS please
I doubt if you know Porsche.... 🤔...
That noise would lose me my licence in no time at all.
No it’s not better, they’ve just come up with more creative ways to control that weight.
Would loved a stripped out modern 911 about the size of a 996 C4. Imagine hnnngh.
To heavy obviously, but I never understood why it has to bee so damn massive in size? 964/993 is tiny by comparison, even 996 is so much smaller by all dimensions.
If the 911 were smaller it would cannibalize sales of the 718, right?
If they're gonna make it big the rear seats should at least be usable. I don't know if they're any better on 992 but 991 was pretty bad
@@ohroonoko I think the logic is that the cayman could be smaller too etc. But unfortunately people want obese cars so there’s space inside, easy to get and out of etc. Plus no one other than proper mental enthusiasts cares about the weight so companies go after more profit and less engineering and less genuine progress.
@@indiebekonn the cayman couldn’t be very much smaller. Super tight package already
Weight doesn't really matter anymore
weeeee
Auto-blip function? Sacrilege!
Great review! The revs from that engine sounded fantastic, until I heard that engine in the GT4RS-truly epic!
