My "gym" is basically a bench press, some sets of dumbbells, a pull-ups bar and a folding static bicycle. Area covered 1 to 1,5 square meters. Total cost near 500 euros. In quarantine times proved gold.
Definitely one of the nicest home gyms I've seen so far. I'm in the very beginning stages of my home gym journey. Right now researching and pricing all the types of equipment I want to have. The design aspect of what you did is very similar to what I'd like to have mine look like so it was good I found this video.
Clean Set Up. I like what you did for the storage racks above the door.
Pretty cool gym. I'm a triathlete myself so I like what you did there dividing into the cardio and the strength.

It wasn't cheap, but we did do everything we could to cut costs, find deals, and do it ourselves if we could. I might do an update with the actual cost associated with it all, because we're not done yet, lol.

Love the gym!! I have a home gym too but it’s only a 1 car garage so def have to fit everything into a smaller space.
Look into wall-mounted lifting racks that can fold up out of the way. Something like this, bit.ly/3aOF6NK will really save space. Wall mount as much as you can to save floor space and look for cardio equipment that can store vertically out of the way like rowers and some treadmills.

Hello, si je peux me permettre un conseil : j'ai fais un home gym à ma cave. Et vu que tu es au stade de la construction : pense a mettre la porte qui donne accès à ton hom gym, assez haute pour pouvoir installer un revêtement de sol d'au moins 10mm genre caoutchouc compressé, ce qu'on trouve en salle pro. Je dis pas ça parce que je l'ai fais dans la cave ou n'était pas prévu chape et carrelage du cou c'est passé limite limite... Bon courage pour ton projet 👍

My 5yo daughter and 11 yo son can't be in there enough. My son has started working out with me. My daughter just wants to play in the gym while I'm working out.
I hope this instills an element of fitness in them forever.

I scored a ProMaxima PL-360 in the same gray black color scheme you have for $550. It’s been the best rack I have ever used. I had never heard of ProMaxima before that. They make some serious equipment....the rig you have is awesome. Might have to look into it for my gym haha. Great set up you have there!

The bike setup is a Wahoo Kickr Smart Trainer (bit.ly/3ckkcHa) Works great with trainer apps like Zwift. Any road/tt bike will work. I have a Scott Foil 30 road bike.

Love the whole flow of the gym! Question trying to get a mirror similar to yours. Can you suggest where I can get one with the board trim around it?
Thank you!! I know I didn’t even talk about it but that was actually Mylar film stretched over a sheet of plywood. We didn’t want the possibility of a broken mirror with little ones. I framed it in on the wall myself to hold it up with some painted wood trim. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment

Nice gym. One of the best I seen. What did you use to cut your stall mats to fit perfectly?
Just a utility knife. Use a straight edge to score and then make multiple passes with the knife. A little pressure is needed but will get the job done.
How long is ur turf and can u do sleds therw or is it not enough space?

Great setup! How did you install the turf? On top of the mats or on the garage floor?
dcsworld1 sorry I missed this one. The turf is directly on the floor so we have an even surface straight across
Awesome setup. Thanks for sharing. How much of a difference did you notice after adding the garage door insulation?
Thank you. There was a noticeable difference in just the overall feel. It reduced outside noise, felt like the wind didn't rattle the door as much, etc. As far as temperature goes, this will be the first Vegas summer we will experience since the gym was completed, so we will see how it holds up to +100 degree temps. I did notice a difference in how quickly we can heat the garage up with a space heater in the past few months. We also have the door closing right on the edge of the flooring and turf creating a tight seal on the floor, so no draft in or out (or bugs and dirt). The insulation was only about $40 total so worth it, in my opinion.

Also do you have tips on how to know where the close out / going out of business sales are in a local area?
Check out the blog in the description for "7 Steps to a Perfect Home Gym", there are some good tips. To answer your question though, I think FaceBook marketplace is the number one go-to source. All the gyms we found closing were listing their items there.
I also live in Vegas is there any specific place you went to get the installation from and what exactly did you do to the garage to convert it into a more stable environment? Was there's any videos you can recommendon how to do it.
Ditto to this question, the Vegas heat is too intense. And I think what he meant to ask about was where you got the “insulation” from. I would assume Lowe’s as well??? I recently got some mini swamp coolers to see if that can alleviate the heat from our long summers

the garage measures 20x22 with the back wall dedicated to "garage" stuff, we have about 400 sq ft of gym space.

20x22ft With the back wall storage it makes the gym 20x20

Just standard tv wall mounts from lowes and a floating shelf.
I can see the gym was well thought through! We have the same type setup, cardio and strength side. Love being able to walk in there any time of the day. Quick question: I couldn’t make out what you used for the insulation? That’s prob the only thing we are lacking. Oh, and we do want to add can lighting. Thanks in advance for answering.
Hey, thanks for the comment. I used 3/4 or 1” polystyrene insulation board. Can find at any Home Depot or Lowe’s. Comes standard 4x8’ and cuts easily with a carpenters knife. I Used a construction adhesive to mount it to the garage door. You can do a 2 car garage for less than $50.

Where u get that insulation
How did you level your garage floor?

How do you keep the gym cool in the summer? Do you have an AC unit or do you keep the door going to the house open with AC on?
The insulation and fans help a lot. An a/c unit is something we are thinking about for next summer. But yes sometimes just keeping the door open the house A/C works well.
Extra points on HORSE STALL MATS :D - I doubt anything else gets a harder beating unless they got elephant and dinosaur races & mats for that. :D
How does the treadmill hold up in the heat/cold? Does the insulation on the garage door really help? Curious because I’m about to add one to my pain cave .
I’m the wife! And the treadmill is my baby so I’ll chime in. :)
The treadmill does really well. I use it daily in both cold and hot environment. And I’d say the insulation does help but it’s not enough by any means especially living in Las Vegas. We’re currently looking into getting A/C. In the meantime I just do cardio with garage door open to allow some sort of breeze while I do cardio in the summer.
