thank you alex for all your knowledge and time ! What I noticed in the trans was my first gear at stock calibration at max rpm went 24 mph but when lund extended the rpm it goes 35 or so lol really pushed that gear out! my car does 0 to 60 in the 3 sec range on street and does 1.8 60' ! Next I will either whipple or ess im torn on that one lol !!! .
SO many are stuck on peak power and torq (THE MAX NUMBER). Really its power across the curve starting from low RPM how it pulls. I still remember all chevy guys I have 2.02 heads I'm badass LOL. Or had them ported so now engine peaky and has very very narrow power band. My brother asked me to help me with engine for his 85 buick back then. Took 305 short block, 350 truck head, 1966 327 vett cam, performer intake and 600 cfm holley. Smacking the crap out of 350 Z28 especially light to light. No way that 305 it can't be LOL. My 351C with 4v heads (2.19 intakes) was dead under 3000 RPM but above that was like a switch being turned on.
Fairly new to tuning only on my third mustang with a tune. I had a 2017 Ecoboost with Cobb Stage 1 and the switched over to PD tuning. I found car basically the same with both tunes. PD was a little more fine tuned. Since I did not want anything but 93 pump gas and stock turbo really limited me. In my personal opinion I found the tune just enhanced what was really already there from factory. Took out some of the limiter’s that Ford installed from factory.
Hi Alex, great video with alot of good info. I've always explain to people so many times that you should work on suspension, weight saving and a good tire setup first. I do have a question about the 10r80 which my car has. I'm starting to get the random harsh shifting shifting that a lot of people tend to get with the 10-speed. I have done the disconnecting of the battery to reset the PCM and TCM. Seems to fix the issue for around first 500 mi. Then it reverts back. I have read on mustang 6G forms people using forscan to clear the adaptive learning tables and with the new forescan update you can actually turn off completely the adaptive learning tables. Everyone I've seen that's done this. It fixes the issue and everyone seems to be amazed on how great it shifts. Do you recommend this as a good idea if I turned the adaptive learning tables off and do you think this could possibly void your warranty or cause damage to the transmission
Can you go the best n/a route and then later go boost with all those parts or does that change things?? Just curious. Finally got me a 2011 gt premium 😊
Great video thanks…any advice on best flash device? Also, how much weight in sand bags do you recommend on a supercharged 2018 Mustang GT 10R80? Thanks in advance!!!

Hello! Thanks for sharing the informations. They’re very informative! I have a 13’ Boss 302 and thinking to get a tune done on it, which tuning would you recommend for a boss 302?
First thing we do here at the shop, know what are the future plans with the car! And for other shops if the costumer wants something simple please don’t sell him a cold air intake😉
Should I get a tune to get rid of rough idle issue? Cause I send car 3 times to dealer for the same reason in the past 2 years and the problem persist.
Great video, thank you for all that information, you gained a subscriber. I recently bought a mustang Mach 1, the only thing I've done was the muffler delete and H pipe. What do you think I should do next? I want to keep my car natural aspirated and really don't want to do anything that could void the extended warranty. Ideally I want to improve performance and like you said, be ready if someone rolls up on me in the highway. I was thinking kook long tube header 1 7/8, any other suggestion or advice?
@@YDBT4LIFE do headers void the warranty? and does it need a tune? I've seen some contradicting posts and how could potentially cause the car to "run lean"
My Auto 13’ GT is bone stock aside from bigger wheels and tires and I believe it was lowered by the previous owner. It’s total miles is going on 180k but my dad and I recently replaced the engine to one with about 47k miles. Since then I’ve been looking for other way to tune up the car. I’ve been told that some times are more aggressive than others but after this video I have a question. Since its stock, would it matter which tune or tuner I go with? Not looking for big power increase but a better performing and smoother engine and trans. and maybe a little better lower end power. Eventually do want to throw some more power into it.
I am a new owner of a 2013 gt(bought almost compleatly stock with low miles). I dont plan on tracking or dragging the car, just a fun weekend car. I go back and forth on mods/tune. Do you think it is worth it for someone with the use i plan to do? Dont want to do anything too drastick that cant be reversed
Speaking on weight bias I ran a 12.59 quarter on the dragy with my buddy who probably weighs 180# in the passenger seat and I was spinning like crazy on the launch and through 3rd gear. That got me wondering what it'd do if I threw 180# in the trunk and ditched my buddy! 😂
Gen1 n/a guy here - I daily my car, got a Lund tune AFTER I modded the rear suspension, which in my opinion is junk from the factory. Cold air with factory filter box, free-flowing exhaust - the car performs well for what it is. Lamenting the fact that e85 is too uncommon in my area, sighs.
Good morning. Sorry to trouble you with my inexperience. I have a question, and I truly believe you are probably one of the few out there who can answer it honestly. I bought a 2010 Mustang GT a couple of months ago. The car has 57,000 miles on it. One owner car. His previous owner installed JBA long tube headers and competition Magnaflow exhaust. I don't feel the car is running like it should. Do you think a tune is required, or would it help? Thank you in advance. Have a great day.
@YDBT4LIFE wish me good luck with that. It seems everyone is looking to dip into your pockets, take your money, and run. Thank you for getting back to me, though. I truly appreciate it.
Hey man! I’ve got a 13 gen 1 5.0 and I’m running a JLT CAI boss 302 intake manifold long tube headers Catless x pipe and I just ordered LU47 injectors to go E85 and was just curious what you think I should go with next? I daily this car and occasionally do roll racing try to stay away from digs because I daily it
Also just to note I have a adjustable pan hard bar BMR trailing arms and 1.5 inch lowering springs from BMR, my drive shaft seems a bit bigger than factory but not 100% sure because I bought the car with it
The advantage of a tune is having proper fueling. Factory tune seems to run lean at tip-in. And then torque management is another issue stealing performance. My journey started with a whipple tune on a gt350. The tune was terrible! Lots of knock, the fueling didn't really start until 90 percent throttle. Stupid! The Lund Tune has proper fueling and I dont have to worry about the knock. Save yourself a headache and get a Lund Tune.
I have a set of long tubes that I’m debating about selling or putting on.. I could use some help. Don’t be afraid to tell me I’m dumb either haha. I just need an educated critique. I’m all about the sound of the vehicle, and I know that catless long tubes with my setup will sound good.. but I’m just concerned about the longevity. I prefer to just cruise and open it up by myself on some empty roads.
@@YDBT4LIFE Sorry, let me clarify. I have a a 2014 GT with an x pipe and flowmaster outlaws. I also have a set of BBK long tube headers that I haven’t installed yet. If I install them, they will be catless which I know will sound good but very loud. I’m not in it for the performance, all I care about is the sound/ tone. My question: is it even worth it to put the headers on or should I sell them? Again, I only care about the sound and not the performance aspects. Is my reasoning for wanting the headers applied, valid or should I just stick with my current setup. Car is automatic too.
@@YDBT4LIFE Currently the flowmasters I have sound awesome and really deep! But I know once I do the headers that may change lol. I’ll definitely check out the GT500 mufflers!! Thank you for the quick response!
Alex ⚾️🇲🇽 good morning I’m from San Diego California I am not really familiar with where are you located but I had a guy that I follow very well and intelligent in the dodge platform now I would like to buy a GEN two or GEN three mustang daily to mod and have fun I’m glad I found you. Is there anyway we can talk and I could text you or email you stuff that I want to do to help me out which ones to get I have a good idea but I do not understand how to buy the parts I have these people in town install them because once they want to install them they want two of them has a package but I wanna get the tune from you, so which way should I go?
My dad has an 11 gt500 with a Ford racing Whipple supercharger package on it. Do you think that car would benefit any from a tune from Lund? He's talked about getting it tuned and I gave him a smaller pulley for it for Christmas one year but he hasn't pulled the trigger on a tune yet.
@@purplerange210 I did. I dont know how good those tunes from Whipple are. I dont know if there might be some power left on the table or something else Lund can do to make the car perform better overall. I assume it would benefit from a Lund tune but I dont know. That's why I asked.
Ok sounds great do you think it is easy for me to get the tune from you guys and upload it pretty easy I’m not really good with computers and all that. And what mustang GEN do you recommend me getting? I would love to have an automatic that does great to modifications I’m thinking a GEN two and what long tube headers do you like for those cars and I’d like to put up a set up for just the street daily driving and getting on it once in a while probably in a
I bought a tune because I put long tubes and a warm air on a gen 2 F150 - which is speed density. Otherwise, I probably would've left it on the normal tune.
I have a stock 2020 mustang gt 10r80 that I want to do some mods to. I would love to have around 550-600 horse power some day just for fun. My goal is just faster acceleration and a louder exhaust. Not sure if this can be achieved for under 10K though.
So im trynna run a IMRC delete, ghost cam, and cat delete all with lund tuning. I was wondering if that is possible. Im only asking cuz i’ve looked everywhere online and no one has done it yet. Thanks!
Alex, what would you recommend for a completely bone stock gen1 6r80 daily driver? I don't race, but get tempted whenever some kid with a Honda or Subaru roll up on me., I just want a little more oomph just in case.
Alex I have a question so obviously I want to be tuned by Lund with my new setup and would like Lund’s input on the parts I’m going to use injectors, intake ect.. Should I buy the tune now and get the input then get the actual tune later once my car is put together?
This is why you got the fox to dick with. To go back to the foundation and cleanse your palate. Couldn't imagine the messages you've got to deal with. Love your channel though, corvette, truck, stangs, all of it. Actually leaning towards denali/escalade with your reviews. Thanks bro.
Hey Alex would you recommend a tune after installing kooks long tube headers and cats with full roush catback and xpipe on a 21 gt 10r80?. Or can I run the car without a tune?
This is interesting because a local tuner said he can get me 40rwhp on an flex/E85 tune. Now I'm wondering if I should just wait to get a Lund tune. 2018 mt82 car currently has a Roush intake (thanks to CA), and MBRP street catback, was going to install a ported intake with a 90mm throttle body I'd bought a while ago. Looking to go with an ESS G3 eventually. Would it be good to get it tuned now, install the intake and throttle body, get a revision, and then revision again when the boost comes? Or just wait for the boost. This would be a roll race and weekend car. BTW, thanks for the informative videos like this. The guidance is always appreciated.
That's on e85 though that's a different fuel. You won't have much gains on 91 for example I assume you're talking about a gen 3 w 12:1 compression because there is no way the older cars are gonna gain that from an e85 tune maybe 20-25 or so at best a over stock.
Alex I have a quick few questions. So eventually I want boost for my 2022 mustang GT but for now I have a closed box aftermarket CAI and a resonator delete. I love the way it sounds and get compliments all the time. How much extra power could I get with those mods with a 85 tune? Or should I wait until I get boost before tuning?
I love the lives but my god I miss these old school informational topic of the the day based videos

Thank you for sharing.
Great video, I still haven’t gotten a tune yet but Lund is the way to go for me.
Alex thanks for the vids, they’re great and very informative 👍🏽
This was a great Video! Perfect.. Just what I needed to hear..
Can we talk tuning a gt350? N/a
Video quality is crazy good!! Good info 👌
Great video Alex thanks 👍
good advice here great info thanks !!
Appreciate the info. Thank you sir 👍 🇺🇸
The best mustang content
This was a very informative video! I love these and really helps put into perspective your goal with the build in reference to tune requests
The focus ST guys have graduated to mustangs
Very well explained.
Finally, Thank You!
I live here in Odessa tx how can I get a tune whit you guys ?
Can you go the best n/a route and then later go boost with all those parts or does that change things?? Just curious. Finally got me a 2011 gt premium 😊
Already did.
Great video thanks…any advice on best flash device? Also, how much weight in sand bags do you recommend on a supercharged 2018 Mustang GT 10R80? Thanks in advance!!!
Your awesome thanx man

New to the game and having fun, I used to race occasionally full contact banger racing fir laps in England out of Ringwood (matchams) my father was the number one driver and won loads of championships...all thid means is i like cars and can drive a touch but not much
Always wanted an American mustang, now im old amd have no idea what to do with it
Should i just get a better mustang or does this thing have a chance for me to have a good laugh and piss off my wife?
Look at my most recent videos where I purchased a gen 1 Mustang
Great video sir.
Thanks
People are crazy with their expectations. Ive had my gen 3 coyote for over a year now and its plenty for street driving for me, havent lost to any of my buddies on a roll and i plan to keep it simple, pmas cold air, switchfire midpipe and a tune🤷♂️ if i could make 450-460 wheel i would be happy
Great explanation!
I'm still looking at ESS supercharger for my 2015 mustang. Not looking for wild numbers, I like to keep drivability and make it last still
I want to know more about dig racing
Should I get a tune to get rid of rough idle issue? Cause I send car 3 times to dealer for the same reason in the past 2 years and the problem persist.
No. If you have a mechanical issue s tune won't fix it
Great video, thank you for all that information, you gained a subscriber.
Tune, e85, headers and then save for boost
@@YDBT4LIFE do headers void the warranty? and does it need a tune? I've seen some contradicting posts and how could potentially cause the car to "run lean"
Do octane qualities diifer on ghost cam tunes?
My Auto 13’ GT is bone stock aside from bigger wheels and tires and I believe it was lowered by the previous owner. It’s total miles is going on 180k but my dad and I recently replaced the engine to one with about 47k miles. Since then I’ve been looking for other way to tune up the car.
I’ve been told that some times are more aggressive than others but after this video I have a question. Since its stock, would it matter which tune or tuner I go with? Not looking for big power increase but a better performing and smoother engine and trans. and maybe a little better lower end power.
Eventually do want to throw some more power into it.
Lund
Well put!
It would be quicker. LOL
@Alejandro Flores I imagine so! He seems to think it could be in the high 11s on a good tire or on a track. Idk though.
Don’t be scared to have your buddy sit in the back passenger seat and see what happens for shits and grins
@Z Works thought about that too. 🤔
If your buddy goes missing at the track, we'll know exactly what you did with him!
Great info!!
Good education 🤝
Good morning. Sorry to trouble you with my inexperience. I have a question, and I truly believe you are probably one of the few out there who can answer it honestly. I bought a 2010 Mustang GT a couple of months ago. The car has 57,000 miles on it. One owner car. His previous owner installed JBA long tube headers and competition Magnaflow exhaust. I don't feel the car is running like it should. Do you think a tune is required, or would it help? Thank you in advance. Have a great day.
@@lazaroibarra8464 it doesn't hurt to have it looked at.
Don't just buy a tune
Diagnose it at a reputable shop 1st
@YDBT4LIFE wish me good luck with that. It seems everyone is looking to dip into your pockets, take your money, and run. Thank you for getting back to me, though. I truly appreciate it.
Well said.
Hey man! I’ve got a 13 gen 1 5.0 and I’m running a JLT CAI boss 302 intake manifold long tube headers Catless x pipe and I just ordered LU47 injectors to go E85 and was just curious what you think I should go with next? I daily this car and occasionally do roll racing try to stay away from digs because I daily it
Also just to note I have a adjustable pan hard bar BMR trailing arms and 1.5 inch lowering springs from BMR, my drive shaft seems a bit bigger than factory but not 100% sure because I bought the car with it
I did a gen 1 coyote swap and the engine keeps dying when coming to a stop, will tuning fix this?
Can you datalog a 2019 must gt using sct sf3 and livelink 2 software w/laptop?
@@martindeleon9863 I don't even understand the question. I see no question here.
@@YDBT4LIFE
Sorry, let me clarify.
@@martindeleon9863 if you install 2011 to 2012 GT500 single tip cat back and the headers it will sound great ...the flow masters sound awful
@@YDBT4LIFE
Currently the flowmasters I have sound awesome and really deep!
I work for Lund racing. Any tuning inquiries have to go through Lund racing
support@lundracing.com
Excellent information. I take it you work at Lund. I need you contact you about my plans.
So 40 roll racing on a 6r80 car. Best set up for 650ish rwhp? That I can daily on pump gas.
Ess g3x if centri...Whipple 3.0 if pd
Both at about 11 psi
It's sad that this has to be explained day after day
My dad has an 11 gt500 with a Ford racing Whipple supercharger package on it. Do you think that car would benefit any from a tune from Lund? He's talked about getting it tuned and I gave him a smaller pulley for it for Christmas one year but he hasn't pulled the trigger on a tune yet.
Did you watch the video at all?
@@purplerange210 I did. I dont know how good those tunes from Whipple are. I dont know if there might be some power left on the table or something else Lund can do to make the car perform better overall. I assume it would benefit from a Lund tune but I dont know. That's why I asked.
@@Jay626jthe tunes that come w blowers are conservative and you can gain alot from tuning especially if you do a pulley too.
Ok sounds great do you think it is easy for me to get the tune from you guys and upload it pretty easy I’m not really good with computers and all that.
And what mustang GEN do you recommend me getting? I would love to have an automatic that does great to modifications I’m thinking a GEN two and what long tube headers do you like for those cars and I’d like to put up a set up for just the street daily driving and getting on it once in a while probably in a
Yes. Tons of tutorials on RUclips
Blower.
The "Tuna"
Isn’t the car going to make more hp when you raise the shift point?
No. Not necessarily. It depends on cam profile
So im trynna run a IMRC delete, ghost cam, and cat delete all with lund tuning. I was wondering if that is possible. Im only asking cuz i’ve looked everywhere online and no one has done it yet. Thanks!
I just want a tune to support the mods I’m gonna install with it. Catless headers, exhaust, and intake.
No tuner can disable cat codes legally.
Alex, what would you recommend for a completely bone stock gen1 6r80 daily driver? I don't race, but get tempted whenever some kid with a Honda or Subaru roll up on me., I just want a little more oomph just in case.
373s and a 3c converter will feel super zippy
@@YDBT4LIFE Thanks Alex! I appreciate you bro
You can drive it without a tune but I wouldn’t push you car or do pulls continuously till you get yourself a tune
I want a tune just for how my car runs because i have a 2016 mustang v6 and it feels like something is holding it back plus i want the limiter removed
We don't tune v6s
Alex I have a quick few questions. So eventually I want boost for my 2022 mustang GT but for now I have a closed box aftermarket CAI and a resonator delete. I love the way it sounds and get compliments all the time. How much extra power could I get with those mods with a 85 tune? Or should I wait until I get boost before tuning?
Hey Alex, I’m putting a gen 3 short block in my gen 2 car. Does the new motor require a revision? Mods are fbo cj manifold on 93. Thanks!
