    Being a Royal is a life in service. They have to dance generally to our tune (the public). Harry and Meghan refused that duty and dedication to this country and in the course of that decision, also any respect I guess from the uk. The Queen was unswerving in her dedication, over 70 years. Hence our unswerving love back for her

    It was Harry's choice to step back from his responsibilities, and therefore he lost his honorary military commissions and thus the right to wear military uniform. He has nobody he can justly blame other than himself. It was a very gracious act on the part of King Charles to - exceptionally - allow Harry (and Andrew) to wear military uniform for the vigil.

      He lost his three honorary titles, but he had served in the British Army for ten years and had been to Afghanistan twice

      @@cheryla7480 Very true, but this does not entitle Harry to wear military uniform, as he will know very well. Unlike in the US, where veterans often wear uniforms for special occasions, retired British military personnel are not allowed to wear uniform unless they are in an honorary appointment and have been authorized to wear one. Instead, they wear their military medals pinned to civilian clothes.
      During the funeral procession you will have noticed the rows of British Legion members (military veterans) standing with their banners by the Cenotaph to pay homage the procession as it passed. None of them were in uniform, as is normal on such occasions and in compliance with regulations.

  • @janesmith8831
    @janesmith8831 2 года назад +5

    The Royals in uniform are wearing ceremonial uniform representing regiments they are commanders of. Harry & Andrew do not represent any regiments any longer as neither of them are working royals. In U.K. veterans are NOT allowed to wear their uniforms ( unlike US). Only those in uniform salute The Cenotaph, civilians look towards it when passing. YES she was Queen of The Scots…you can see her funeral procession through Edinburgh…they did her proud.
    This was the first procession from her Lying in State to the funeral. There was a second after the funeral through London to Wellington Arch where she was transferred to the State Hearse & transported 20 miles to Windsor Castle for The Commital. 5 million people lined the route. Her pony Emma & 2 of her dogs waited there for her to pass by. It was a fitting farewell to our most gracious lady…Elizabeth II.

    Queen Elizabeth was Queen of the United Kingdom which includes Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Scotland was her favourite place to be and as a switched on human till her last breath, I believe she chose to take her last breath at Balmoral which is why she didn't travel to London to instate the new prime minister in London, It's a lot for a non British person to get their head around, I get that. I agree we need to have more brown faces in these events as there is no racism (as far as I'm concerned). The bell tolls 96 times for each year the Queen was alive.
