This guy's body language... just awesome!
+Rexus King Doesn't need to act like C3PO :)
+zerpBot He IS C3PO!
Performance was equally as impressive as the build!
Motor sounds added to the movement would take to the next level!
Woohoo! Bummed my speaker was blown. Replaced now and sounds way clearer. We'll have to do a side by side with the new suit in a few months. ;)
Nice suit!
+gordontarpley Great Work!
+gordontarpley That suit is freakin awesome! nice work!
+gordontarpley Fantastic work! Really can't express that enough! And I think even the "blown" speaker gave it a nice distorted texture, I wouldn't have noticed anything off if I had heard it in person like that :D
Amazing suit and performance! Have you thought about adding servo sounds some how when you move around? I think that would really complete the illusion.
awesome how he played it at the end!
+Kermit That was pretty incredible. Especially head movements!
+Kermit Why, I don't know what you mean "played".
daymobrown as of performance or act
+Kermit Yeah, I was ear to ear immediately like a little kid.
+Kermit Yea he was a real devout, played C3PO very well indeed. Awesome
CP3O has to be one of the hardest characters to get right in all of Cosplay. Just the physical limitations and constant threat of possibly falling down make it very tough. Add to that the mannerisms and real acting that go into it.
Great Job!!
If I recall correctly the suit for RoboCop was pretty limited to the super skinny too. Peter Weller was perfect for it.
That's kinda why I'd rather save up for a good cosplay worthy Vader suit instead. Being six foot two, and a little wide shouldered, I would just pull off a far more convincing Vader than I would 3P0.
I hear ya!! The Vader on Fremont Street is a little short...
The performance really does help give that little extra bit of fun to the costume. I couldn't help but smile the whole time.
This dude is like a human version of C-3PO.
This is what I love about this channel, they treat the nerdiest people possible like celebrities, because in this community, they are. Adam just happens to be a celebrity in movie prop stuff and on TV.
True, very professional 👏
That's 3PO? Didn't recognize it was him because of that red arm.
+treebeard I see what you did there....
It's from Star Wars Force Awaken
Liam Chavez That's not his joke. What's the first thing C3PO says when he appears on screen?
I saw that something in a Lego video game explains it, which is purely Disney trying to get money.
+Catie Tomlinson 卌 well, actually it was already explained, so....
He actually looks like a younger Anthony Daniels. Awesome.
I love to see the amazing lengths these people are willing to go to in order to get a great costume.
I can only imagine Adam Savage's reaction
he would go savagr
+Jimmy You had ONE easy pun...
+Erik Ahl and he made a typo..
what typl?
+boy638 He owns a statue of one and did a full video. Check it out if you haven't.
This guy should make a fat C-3PO suit for Barnacles
Barnacules?
+Severen Redwood I understood what he meant. the fork is strong with that one.
+Severen Redwood Google for his storm trooper cosplay, its pretty funny.
Oh my god ive been binging on this channel for the last 3 hours and i think i found my new favorite channel
+Donnie Montoya heck yeah, that's how I was when I found it. . im all caught up now, so its so exciting every time they make an upload. . which is several times a week. . some things, I am not even that in to. . but even those ones, I watch beause they make it very interesting. . peace. . eric The Eturn
Completely convincing! What an incredible job. I just can't believe he took it that close to perfection and then went with the red arm.
So cool. Finally to to see him in action.
I originally met him during my graphic design internship. I watched him on facebook piecing together the costume and talked with him about his original plans for the paint job.
The audio for his voice tops off the performance perfectly.
wow!!! its incredible the level of detail in this things.... true fans, true love for the craft...
You didn't ask him the odds?
Never tell him the odds.
Incredible craftmanship! Thank you for sharing this.
Just ad the sound effects and the illusion is perfect. Amazing work and acting!
I need that
Amazing! The performance was awesome! Had a big dumb grin on my face the whole time I was watching it was so good!
Give that man a drink
Wow that looks fantastic.
I subscribed to Gordon's channel a few months ago, it's great to see how he models and prints all the new parts.Tested viewers should all follow him :)
That was awesome! I love that he got into the character full on!
This brought a big smile to my face
This is brilliant!!! The mannerisms, the voice, the costume... all perfect! I hope to See-Threepio (see what I did there!) at a convention someday. Fantastic!
He looks like the human version of C-3PO
This was so exciting to watch. I was in aw of this suit
That is absolutely spectacular! O___O
Very much impressed!!! Not an easy costume or build and it takes real determination to pursue.
great suit and fantastic performance looking forward to seeing another video with the fixed speaker.
OMG it's Gordon Tarpley, I know him !!! I'm building my suit as well and his advice and teaching are so helpful !
I love this Soo much, OMG . I'm tight there with Gordan. Dude, amazing work.
This is amazing.
That's truly amazing, gatta love it
Nailed it
Great work man
Adam probably had a huge geek attack if he got to meet him and his amazing costume
That performance was amazing! I didn't buy it until he started moving in the suit - that's when the magic happened. I can imagine being a kid at comic-con and just freaking out after seeing C3PO on the show floor.
the mannerisms and movements are right on the money! well done, gordon!
Loved it!
Awesome performance!
Amazing!!
so good!
Loved the video! C-3PO is a great character :)
wow, he nailed it at the end
Mr Tarpley I think, you look a little like C3-PO without the suit on! (compliment by the way, from one armour maker to another) Brilliant work sir, and I admire your total dedication in laying off the donuts.
Omg he acted that so well. Great job, Gordon!
Amazing!
amazing!
AMAZING !!!
So awesome
That was some kewl shit right there guys..Great video!
Awesome dude
Are the hands articulated at all, or just basically rigid sculptures that you put your hands into? Awesome suit! I hope to have one someday as a display piece (cuz I don't think I'll ever be thin enough to actually wear it).
This is fantastic. I could never fit the suit, and I wish I could, but it's a great effect.
WONDERFUL!!! 3PO gets some recognition! Its always R2 or BB8 now!
Are the struts at the arms extendable and retractable or does it lock his arms in this position?
I love this. Gordon, you did good man.
That is awesome!!!!
I've never met Gordon, but he does an awesome job at 3PO. The only other person who can pull this off I know of and have had the pleasure to meet a few times is Chris Bartlett. (Aside from Anthony Daniels himself who was a bit abrasive).
Tarpley and Bartlett ought to be in Ep VII and VIII !!! Good job man, I'd love for you to take a look at my 3PO helmet I made 8-9 years ago, I'm curious of the mold origins.
Wonderful
Tested needs to get an old style cylon from the original battlestar galactica! Now that would be awesome!
+Ben Thompson I second this motion. Next Adam Incognito!
That's awesome. I would love to wear that when I'm driving my semi truck.
It's cool how he did the voice
That's really cool
So cool
I can't fucking deal right now. This is too fucking good. He really does need to sort out that speaker, though.
Fantastico!!!!!
Amazing how he moves exactly like in the movie!
it mostly comes down to the limitation of the suit, very limited leg movement and you can't bend the arms at all
what if c-3po fell over, how would he get back up?
i always imagined that the upper back power pack section of his body was some sort of rebounding device to bounce him back up on his feet. or maybe if he falls over he's just simply stuck and has to deal with it? or rely on another droid, human or creature to assist him?
love it
I love how he gets into character, or atleast his body motions seem like you have to act like C3PO
Once he put the suit on....... oh, my, gosh.
That was absolutely amazing.
I want one now.... but I'm too fat to fit in one of those suits.
better than the one used in Force Awakens
Super bravo
Aw man that's so cool :D
Cool man!
awesome
Thats sweet!
what did they use for eyes in the movie ?
lol, norm is literally shocked at the end
Gordon Tarpley is my boy!
wooo this guy is awesome
I am a huuuuge Threepio fan. Since I was a little kid, I can remember carrying my Threepio toy all around. I'm as old as ROTJ.
You can win the comic con awards with that costume
omg!! .I want.that suit.. how can I get one?? im.interested
I can't believe Adam wasn't there for this. He would've freaked out.
You should do a video with Adam giving us a tour of his jeep
Damn, he nailed the moves! :-D
I want the Rancor in the background.
I'm Gonna slap this on my build list for 2016, i wanna walk around as C3PO now >.
Great video!! umm.....the piece on the back of C3-PO'S head, and his chest looks like a small 1970's transistor radio speaker cone frame......just a thought :)
I love the homemadeness of the whole original trilogy. for example Obi-Wan's lightsaber was made out of pieces like a ww1 rifle grenade, a water faucet knob, and a small compresser turbine from a jet engine
I freaking love this man hahahaha. amazing.
Muito legal sou fã do Brasil
Ever since 1977 I wanted a C3-PO costume. After seeing this...I'll let someone else do it.
wait but what about he other protocol droids? how were they made?
I expect that the reason there are so few C-3PO builders is that you have to be very skinny to fit in one of those suits. I'd like to build a 3-PO from the waist up and display him as a statue. Animatronic even maybe, that'd be cool. Alas, even at my skinniest I could never have fit in a 3PO costume.
All the guys into c3po actually look like c3po!
