Nestled in the heart of Florida's Nature Coast, The Cove in Inverness promises an enchanting camping experience that seamlessly blends tranquility with adventure. The Cove, situated on the shores of Lake Henderson, offers campers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The surrounding trees reflect the vibrant hues of the setting sun, creating a picturesque backdrop for a relaxing evening by the campfire. As night falls, the stars overhead, cast a glow on the campground. The peaceful ambiance sets the stage for a restful night's sleep against the gentle sounds of nature.
The Cove was a fish camp and in June 2001 had a devastating fire. The restaurant was reopened, and the fish camp was to become a horse farm. The horse farm was closed, and they decided to re-open the camping ground which has only been opened for little over a year now. They have been letting the land return to its natural state and recover from the horses. As more land comes back around, they plan on opening more sites.
As of now they have ten sites which include four pull-through and six back in sites. All have full hook up, offering 30- and 50-amp service as well as sewer. The site is hard pack and walking distance from the restaurant and the water.
They also have four houses on the property, two of which are one-bedroom cottages “Love Shake and Tin Roof”. They have a three- bedroom called Swamp Water Farm named after the horse farm. Additionally, they have a two bedroom called the Cove Point House which is on the water and catches sunsets from the back bedroom. This one was my favorite.
