    What's so great about Inverness, is not only do you have this quaint little downtown area, but go a few miles north on 44 and you have every retail store that you can imagine.

      @thealtemlife Looking to move to Central Florida. Appreciate all the great info!! Do you have any idea how far you are from the gulf? Does anyone know what kind of impact hurricanes from the gulf side had on that area?

    I go to Inverness every Feb to stay for 3 weeks. It's a nice town as well as the surrounding areas. While it's freezing cold in NJ its in the 70s and 80s down there.

    The old building at the end was called the Crown Hotel. I’m a 5th generation in this county. You think it’s dead now? You should of seen it in the late 60’s and 70’s when I was a kid. I went to the Valerie theater as a kid. Saw Star Wars there. The street between Coaches and Subway use to be Main Street, US 41 until they 4 laned it in the mid 90s. Good job on the video I will say of my hometown. Your video doesn’t portray it but outside of that area is bustling with horrendous traffic out on the main street. Those roads are not traveled within the Square very often because it’s not the main roadway through the town.

      We have seen pics of the old hotel and that would have been so cool to see!we have been to the courthouse before and it has some really cool history! That’s so cool you saw Star Wars at the theater. It’s neat to think about how the town was back in the early years. Thanks for all the info!!!

    Looks like a great town. The courthouse and the movie theater gave me a "Back to the Future" vibe. 😁 Looks like you could easily do a dinner at the Side Bar Tavern and then walk next door to see a movie. That theater is really interesting since besides movies, the schedule shows it has live music and comedy shows too. You should check that place out. I'm curious about the décor. Thanks!

      Good call on "Back to the Future"! That is true. There is a lot of history in downtown. We will have to check out the theater sometime! They do offer other entertainment than just movies and they try to keep a busy schedule. We will add that location on our list. Thanks for watching!

    Love these towns! Outside of family-run it must be so hard to get and retain staff to keep places going. Enjoyed the tour as is usual. 👍🇬🇧

      Hello! Don’t exactly remember when we were there but maybe a Monday or Tuesday. That day was not normally how it usually is. It’s usually a little more busier than that. The weekends always have something going on so it gets pretty busy. Fun town to visit if you haven’t been. Thanks for watching!

    Because of so many advertising the area and telling their family and friends it has caused prices of homes to increase dramatically. Just a couple years ago homes were $185k on average. When you discover a low cost paradise area keep quiet about it and don't educate the realtors and don't them them how expensive homes are where you are from. The less they know the better

    • @thealtemlife
      @thealtemlife  9 месяцев назад

      We worked in real estate in that area and it’s definitely a nationwide thing of prices increasing. Everyone wants a quieter spot but close to everything and when you search that, Inverness comes up. The new Suncoast Parkway has brought a ton of people there because now you can get to Tampa fast. You are right next to a heavy tourist spot of Crystal River. Prices go up just like everything else has, unfortunately.
