"You shouldn't care if I don't like what you like." Amen! The fact that we all have different tastes is what makes this hobby so fun. Great video, Justin.
I had similar feelings for Bentley Intense, found it unpleasant, particularly in the opening. An alternative I like a whole lot more is Azzaro pour Homme Intense EDP (2015) which is underrated in comparison!
Man…you could be a professor on the subject of fragrances. Gonna have to remember some of these alts. Hope your week is going well! Thankful for your positivity and kindness bro.
My man! I agree, new LNdL 2021 is over hyped, but the OG (2009) was great. LNdL Bleu Electrique is like the 2009 OG LNdL mixed with 10% LNdL Frozen Cologne. It's amazing. Has 9 hours of longevity on my skin and the smell... 10/10. Love your content, dude. Subscribed.
La Nuit De Lhomme is one of the best mens fragrances ever created. Its mass appealing and brings lots of compliments. I wear it for every occasion in the fall and winter to this day in 2023. Good video Justin.
I never comment on your videos but I just wanted to let you know real quick that I think you are the best fragrance channel of all the channels that I am subscribed to. You know what you’re talking about and you are very nice to listen to, as you have a great way of speaking. Keep up the good work 🤙🏼
The last few weeks I have really started to enjoy Justin's content a lot more. You re coming across as very happy and content in your own skin. Also loving the crossovers with the music. I don't know what's up but long may it continue!
I share the same sentiments with 4 out of your 5 picks. In my opinion, Bentley Intense is a magician in the winter. Whether u want attention or compliments, it's there in this one.
Nice opening with Diz, Night in Tunisia! Love the editing so you can play multiple parts...great sound and vibe. And fantastic topic for the video. Good one!
I'm glad you're here, Justin. Thanks for linking to your brother's channel. Looks like we align in more ways than I first anticipated! God bless you my brother from another mother!
I absolutely love the fact that he highlighted Carlisle. When I first smelled Carlisle it was like death. It has such an absurd opening and then the immediate drydown isn't any good either. I would also say Red Tobacco is the optimal appealing version of Carlisle.
I’m in and I watch most of your videos. I love this channel because this is the one place I hear about fragrances I otherwise wouldn’t have heard of. Is it a coincidence or do you, more often than not, prefer the pricier options?
Thank you! What I can say is that I prefer interesting scent profiles with good quality. That usually leans towards more expensive fragrances, but not every time.
Blind bought Bentley intense based off hype, thought it smelled too mature so I gave it my dad. Smelled it when he was wearing it one day and thought it was really good. Guess it’s just more suited for the older man
The hype was always about the intense version but the og bentley for men is so much better and much more wearable throughout the year. And it also still has plenty of power to last.
Yep a CLASSIC! Night in Tunisia ! Since I am a vocal guy I heard this in high school performed by the Manhattan Transfer! Dizzy and Charlie Parker.Good Choice!
Its amazing just how much goes into shaping our perception and subjectivity. We could smell the exact same thing from the same bottle and it can be perceived differently.
Great list and concept! Some of the overhyped ones I do love (Bentley Intense and La Nuit especially) but would love to give the alternatives a try. Wouldn't mind a part 2 of this down the line.
Excellent video! I’ve never smelled Bentley before ( never tried). I don’t see the hype around Encre Noir by Lalique. I purchased, sprayed once and gave it away. It was too much of something that didn’t agree with me.
They are hyped for a reason, same fragrance can be used with 100 people with 100 different personalities, people sweat differently, act differently, body scents are different. Not all the people like it, so it is just the personal preference.
Loved this video, my friend. Great alternatives for those popular scents. Maybe a Part 2 is worth it with the likes of Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel, Versace Eros, etc.
Hello Justin, how are you? Nicely done!! I love how Bentley Man Intense smells in the air. People look for you when you wear it. I do dig Pasha Cartier!! Stay safe brother!
Light blue intense reminds me being a kid and walking into Hollister and stores alike for the first time- I do believe light blue intense is worth the hype. On the other hand, I believe that la nuit de lhomme is slightly overhyped. It reminds me of a sweeter version of f black and I like f black. I do enjoy la nuit but I feel like it's slightly overhyped
Nice list and nice alternatives! I also don’t understand the hype around Bentley Men Intense (synthetic sweet and harsh) and D&G Light Blue Intense. I am curious to try the alternatives mentioned! I don’t know Pasha de Cartier Parfum and Jacques Fath Curaçao bay, but do know that I love the original “Chambre Noire” it’s so smooth and sexy! Have you tried it? For D&G: Heeley Sel Marin or Bvlgari Aqva Marine are way better!
But that’s just the thing-even if it doesn’t match reality for you, it might match it for other people. It goes the other way too-something might live up to the hype for you, but the person next to you might find it mediocre.

Funny enough the only major reformulation that happened to LNDL was like six months into its release. I had an original batch and it performs the same as it always has. The aftershave was stronger and more masculine than the original Edt. I hate when frags get hyped because it's always to make money. You can buy in bulk the initial batch of a perfume, wait for a refirnulation or two then release a video saying how the new batches just aren't as good as the old ones. Then you got $300 bottles of 2012 LNDL selling off your eBay store. Of course only the biggest influencers can do this. Youre one of the few I trust. I know a prick that hypes any new perfume up and directs you to his affiliate links to blind buy it.
I feel that Thierry Mugler Pure Malt and Ultra Zest are both extremely overhyped. Pure Malt smells like plastic on the dry down to my nose and Ultra Zest is basically Pure Malt with creamy citrus on top. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense is a little off putting up close, but from my experience its a compliment monster in the air. Great video JC and I'll be looking forward to sampling some of these alternatives
Thank you Justin!!Great video!! I'm going to try some of these alternatives. I like to stand out and be different from the crowd even in how I dress.I always have.
This waa my first time watching a video from you, and once you mentioned Pasha de Cartier I had to follow you. One of my favorites that I own, great choice. Dont give away all of my secret favorites thou.
I know what you mean about Bentley. I blind bought it based on the hype. I don't mind it. I mean, it's ok.. on the dry down there is just something about it that I'm unsure about!
Great shout on Lhomme Ideal Intense. So slept on. Only picked it up by accident as meant to get the Ideal EDP, but a brilliant mistake as I love that scent.
Greetings Brother Justin. I thank you for your insight. I have been very educated. By your channel and Ross. I also listen to the Chaos channel and Gent scents.
I Love Light Blue Intense and I find it very unique because its aquatic BUT Musky, very hard to find perfumes that are aquatic and musky at the same time, they are mostly freshy aquatic fruity scent. And the musk makes it masculine and versatile, not just an everyday day light or gym fragrance imo
It don't matter what I wear or how much it costs, because me being a member of the fresh squad, people are always blown away by my freshness no matter what I got on!
Hi, Justin! Thank you for another great video:) I would like to thank you for all your work and effort that you put in your videos, i really do love them and honestly think that you deserve more viewers! i know that you’ll get even more appreciators and i wish you good luck with that 😉
Love that you are talking about things you dislike. I find it interesting because it's gives more color to me as a viewer about your tastes. Although sad to see Carlisle on you list :(. Definitely my fav frag so far out of the ones I have tried. Although first times I tried it especially first time I remember it being waaay to harsh (I gave it like a 3/10). I think it was the opoponax for me because the harshness reminded me of the OG Interlude from Amouage which also has opoponax. But after a short while I started to adore it and now it's a solid 10/10 for me. Anyway I love your content, always put a smile on my face when I see your videos popping up in my feed.
But JC you recommended Bentley Intense as a good cheapie...and I started to buy it.😂😂😂 I gotta lay off these overhyped fragrances and buy the ones I like. With all the recommendations/reviews in the RUclips frag community, I’m suffering fragrance fatigue. As such, I’m in the process of simplifying my collection to just a few fragrances. As much as I love blue fragrances, I find it redundant to have 10 bottles of blue juice with similar note breakdowns. I just want a few fragrances that I enjoy wearing without being influenced by the opinions of others. That’s no diss to you...it’s stay fresh for life. ✌🏾
I’ve never recommended Bentley Intense! Haha because I’ve never liked it. And I haven’t had the bottle for several years now. I feel you on the simplification front! Nothing wrong with that.
I love Bentley for Men Intense, but it reminds me of another one that is discontinued, Lubin Idole edt. With that said your replacement is awesome. I started to get that, but felt like you when comparing it to Bentley. It would be redundant to me. Great video and you have great taste in fragrances.
Hey Walid, are they similar? For tropical situations as mine (Brazil), can wear Bentley Intense only 45-60 in the year. I was thinking of Pasha Parfum or Mustache EDP, looking for more versatility...
@@tarcisovillela6862 Pasha to my nose is heaven. I couldn't smell it when I first got it and posted a bad review. But after a few applications, it became evident this is one of the best scents I have in my collection. You see, Pasha is one of the first to start using a new molecule called Ambrocenide. My nose wasn't used to it but once it was, oh boy. Pasha and Bentley intense don't smell alike at all.
@@tarcisovillela6862 Yes I have it, beautiful scent. I wasn't able to appreciate it fully, on me it last 15 minutes. It might be the same thing that happened to me with Pasha parfum. am planning on wearing it after the summer ends (which should be soon here In Canada).
I personally love LBEI, it gets the job done and I get compliments from wearing it all the time. Wouldn't say it's overhyped but I will say that it's a scent that people will lean towards because it's so easy to wear for just about everyone. Great video as usual!
@@marxman300 I don't think overhyped is the right term for it. Does it get used a lot, yes. Is it a bad fragrance, no. Overhyped means that the claims are exaggerated. It's been said to be a nice, clean, people pleasing scent and people smell it and think it's a nice, clean, pleasing scent. Like I said it gets the job done so I wouldn't say it's overhyped at all.
The intro was 🔥 Great trumpet work. Glad you touched on the options of fragrances. I'm definitely going to look into All those. I'm always open to stretching out my collection. ✌️
I couldn’t agree more! It’s so important to find fragrances that you love for you! Although when a cousin of mine smelled my bottle of Xerjoff’s Renaissance and said it smelled like “an old lady” that stung a little😂😅
New to this channel but I am impressed with a Justin’s knowledge of fragrances. I look forward to catching up with more fragrance reviews! Great job Justin!
I agree on Bentley intense. When i put it on the first time, I wanted to wash it off. Way too smokey!!! Smelled like something was on fire and not in a good way. Was confused about the hype.
Love the videos. In my opinion I do agree with a lot of what you said. I think a lot of fragrances that’s overhyped or fragrance that people like might smell good on some and not others. I definitely don’t like how certain fragrances smell on my skin. I tend too go far fresh clean smells. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Keep doing you and be blessed
I felt a certain way about Carlisle when I first got it. But after macerating for a year, my thoughts changed and so did the scent. It's one of my favorites to wear out of my collection and gets noticed.
I generally don't like many people. I'll never know who Justin is as a person but a like him, i trust his advice and i get a sense that i can trust him. I just wanted everyone to know. Also Bentley intense for men is massively overrated and i wish i never purchased it .
@@dylancarl1438 It smells bad, yeah. People say it smells "niche quality", yeah right, smells cheap and caustic to me. Nothing to do with age either - I'm over 30, and I absolutely hate this fragrance.
@@dylancarl1438it’s pretty good for the price tag. I’d get a sample online first before buying a bottle. Lalique is the house for Bentley and I have never gone wrong with their fragrances.
It gets over hyped due to the cost. It does smell more expensive than discounted prices. Smells very mature and boozy and sweet. Are there other scents that do it better? Absolutely
I feel you on the Bentley, I had almost the same reaction to it. I like most of the notes and it could have been great for me, but something about the bay leaf note was just too strong and made it kinda funky.
Great video and a very courageous move to do as people don't like having someone saying their darling fragrance is overhyped. I never got Bentley for men Intense because of Ross at TLTG reviews. He pointed it's not a very wearable fragrance and while getting rave reviews, I noticed that it's never on any list of actually wore fragrance or top of the season. Also, I got rid of Light Blue eau intense last week as my wife didn't like it that much and I felt there where better summer scents for me.
Bentley intense was hyped by Jeremy fragrance so much a few years back along with Mont Blanc individual. So whatever Jeremy hyped the other reviewers at the time were hyping and reviewing everything they saw him doing. It was only a few reviewers that we’re doing their own thing at that time. The majority of them were on jeremy’s 🥜.
I used to look forward to Jeremy’s vlogs but he got religious and started acting like he’s on drugs or something so I stopped. The good thing is that I found Justin’s channel along with Ash, Dallas & Corbin !
I’m recently watching your channel and I really like your intros, your style and these alternatives are awesome! Guerlain L’Homme Intense is a great fragrance! Keep going Justin 👍🏻 Keep talking about things that you love!
Maison Martin Margiela Music Festival is the best version of the Bentley for Men Intense DNA in my opinion and it never gets mentioned in the conversation. Also thanks for mentioning Light Blue Intense, I never dug that one all that much either, the original is better. All love, can't wait to try Brass & Soul!
I literally ordered music festival last night on a whim and it's one of the few of theirs i do not own.... Is the cannabis/hashish note in it too obvious I wonder?
@@Safefragrance not at all. I was a bit worried as well, but it follows a lot of the same MMM earthy/patchouli vibe as most of the other darker Replica lines. Sparkles in the opening and gets powdery and sweeter in the drydown. Nothing super dank or fresh-weedy though, if anything, it's a faint earthy/sulphuric patchouli. I'm willing to bet it's safe enough for Safe Nate
I think Jazz Club would be a good choice as well to Bentley, the performance may not be the same but I think that's a good thing since it's basically a casual night out scent that I'd wear to a chill party that I'd be at for only a few hours. On a side note, been also loving Coffee Break.
@@harrywillman8456 ah thanks for such a good note breakdown buddy... My favourites of the house has to be by the fireplace and at the barbers... And don't let my name fool you...i will go pretty brave and ballsy with my scents. 🙌😉😂... Like the new one from zaharoff called the siren... Man that is such a good scent... Also ha e you tried fly away by Thierry mugler... The annoyingly trendy two note accords of grapefruit and cannabis...it surprised me how nicely blended it was with the grapefruit popping off of something that again smells more hemp and plant like than cannabis...has been a good summer compliment fragrance so far...

Great video with amazing substitutes for overhyped fragrances nowadays
Greetings Brother Justin. I thank you for your insight. I have been very educated. By your channel and Ross. I also listen to the Chaos channel and Gent scents.
I Love Light Blue Intense and I find it very unique because its aquatic BUT Musky, very hard to find perfumes that are aquatic and musky at the same time, they are mostly freshy aquatic fruity scent. And the musk makes it masculine and versatile, not just an everyday day light or gym fragrance imo
Good Info to have! Enjoyed! Thanks!
Thank you!
It don't matter what I wear or how much it costs, because me being a member of the fresh squad, people are always blown away by my freshness no matter what I got on!
Yessir!!
I agree with you with Bentley intense, how ever the regular Bentley for men is better as well as absolute and azure.
Great video concept bro and great list of alternatives as well!! I've been seeing Scotch Porter pop up a lot recently
SP is awesome! Thanks bro!
Great video Justin. Love your honesty brother. Plus starting a video with “A Night in Tunisia”? Yes sir!⚡️⚡️⚡️
Yes! :) Thanks bro!
Hi, Justin! Thank you for another great video:) I would like to thank you for all your work and effort that you put in your videos, i really do love them and honestly think that you deserve more viewers! i know that you’ll get even more appreciators and i wish you good luck with that 😉
Thank you so much! :)
100% agree on Carlisle and the Argos recommendation. Triumph of Bacchus is currently my favorite tobacco fragrance.
Great video Justin! I feel 241% fresher after watching this. Didn't realize you passed 40k subs. Congrats! Great channel and great content
Thank you so much Brian!
I have to agree Carlisle isn’t me either. But I respect everyone’s opinion and right to think it’s an amazing fragrance
Great video man like your opening remarks they are great and I have learnt a lot
Thank you!
Love this video! With so many options and so many older colognes out there, this helps us try something else.
Thank you Jeff!
Thank you Tarik!! I will try Carlisle again in the Winter.
Carlisle?!! Beautiful juice
I'm glad you dig it!
I respect you for the video, you got me at Bentley.. focking hate that shoot...
I’m with you on Bentley intense. I don’t know if I have a bad batch but this smells awful. And I like masculine fragrances. But this....nope.
Some enlightening recommendations here 🤓. Curacao Bay by Jacques Fath sounds very up my street. Nice one, Justin!
Thanks Anton! It's really nice!
I love Bentley for Men Intense, but it reminds me of another one that is discontinued, Lubin Idole edt. With that said your replacement is awesome. I started to get that, but felt like you when comparing it to Bentley. It would be redundant to me. Great video and you have great taste in fragrances.
Thanks Tyran! I still gotta try Idole.
I think you will like that better than Bentley. I had a couple coworkers try them. They didn't like Bentley but they liked Idole.
Pasha de Cartier Parfums is one my all-time favs but so is Bentley Intense :)
@@walid7885 Thanks a lot, man.
I think I'll try it.
What about Mustache EDP?
Very curious about it...do you know?
@@tarcisovillela6862 Yes I have it, beautiful scent. I wasn't able to appreciate it fully, on me it last 15 minutes. It might be the same thing that happened to me with Pasha parfum. am planning on wearing it after the summer ends (which should be soon here In Canada).
@@walid7885 Thanks a lot, man!
All the best for you!
I personally love LBEI, it gets the job done and I get compliments from wearing it all the time. Wouldn't say it's overhyped but I will say that it's a scent that people will lean towards because it's so easy to wear for just about everyone. Great video as usual!
lb intense is very overhyped.everyone talks about it for summer lists
@@marxman300 I don't think overhyped is the right term for it. Does it get used a lot, yes. Is it a bad fragrance, no. Overhyped means that the claims are exaggerated. It's been said to be a nice, clean, people pleasing scent and people smell it and think it's a nice, clean, pleasing scent. Like I said it gets the job done so I wouldn't say it's overhyped at all.
The intro was 🔥 Great trumpet work. Glad you touched on the options of fragrances. I'm definitely going to look into All those. I'm always open to stretching out my collection. ✌️
Thank you!

I couldn’t agree more! It’s so important to find fragrances that you love for you! Although when a cousin of mine smelled my bottle of Xerjoff’s Renaissance and said it smelled like “an old lady” that stung a little😂😅
That hurts! XD
New to this channel but I am impressed with a Justin’s knowledge of fragrances. I look forward to catching up with more fragrance reviews! Great job Justin!
Thank you so much, John!! Welcome!
Thank you so much!! I actually did a video on clean fragrances!

The riff you played in the opening was Dizzy Gillespie "Night in Tunisia "
Great video....Part 2🔥🔥
I felt a certain way about Carlisle when I first got it. But after macerating for a year, my thoughts changed and so did the scent. It's one of my favorites to wear out of my collection and gets noticed.
Night in Tunisia! First one of these intros I've been able to name lol
Haha! 👌🏾
I generally don't like many people.
I'll never know who Justin is as a person but a like him, i trust his advice and i get a sense that i can trust him.
I just wanted everyone to know.
Also Bentley intense for men is massively overrated and i wish i never purchased it .
Wow. I am honored to read this! Thank you
I loved the intro, A night in Tunisia!! 🎺🎺🎺
Saludos from Barcelona :)
Thank you Oualid! :)
Dolce and gabbana light blue intense is my most complimented fragrance it's perfect last 9 hours on my skin
Very nice!
Bentley intense is something I will never understand lol
I want to get it because I hear amazing reviews, however, it seems like it might smell bad to be honest. Do you own it? Should I buy it?
@@dylancarl1438 It smells bad, yeah. People say it smells "niche quality", yeah right, smells cheap and caustic to me. Nothing to do with age either - I'm over 30, and I absolutely hate this fragrance.
@@dylancarl1438it’s pretty good for the price tag. I’d get a sample online first before buying a bottle. Lalique is the house for Bentley and I have never gone wrong with their fragrances.
@@dylancarl1438 i was excited to get Bentley intense...i gave my bottle away, i hate it
It gets over hyped due to the cost. It does smell more expensive than discounted prices. Smells very mature and boozy and sweet. Are there other scents that do it better? Absolutely
I definitely agree with you on the Bentley intense...I blind bought it due to all the hype on the internet.. I can't stand it.
Yeah try Carlisle outdoors once the cold hits. And yes. Triumph is fire. Another option, mystery tobacco by CH
Thanks Michael! My bottom line is still encouraging folks to wear what they love. Just because it’s overhyped doesn’t mean it’s not good. 😊
I own it and like it. Its def not designer or mass appealing but its a vibe.
❗💀❗💯🎯
Yup. Jeremy is a weirdo sociopath. Justin is KING.
He also hyped La Nuit De L'Homme, Ultra Male, etc.....waaaay more hype than Bentley Intense. People still on that dick it seems.
Thank you brother!
I hope you'll enjoy Brass & Soul!
