- Ray Lamontagne's acoustic (and beautiful) cover of Gnarls Barkley's song 'Crazy'
I remember when
I remember, when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that phase
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space
And when you're out there
Without care
I was out of touch
It wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Probably
An I hope that you are having the time of your life
Oh but think twice
That's my only advice
Come on now
Who do you
Who do you think you are
Woah Woah
Bless your soul
Do you really think that you're in control
Well I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me, yeah
My heroes had the heart
To lose their lives out on a limb
An all I remember
Is thinking I wanna be like them
Ever since I was little it looked like fun
It was no coincidence that I've come
I can die when I'm done
Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably
A la la la la la la
a la la, a la la, a la la, a la la
yeah, yeah, yeah
wo-ah, woah, woah, woah, woah
lay lay lay lay
a la la, a la la, a la la, a la la - Видеоклипы
So annoying that this is not on spotify.. One of my all time favorite covers
Yes!!!!
@@shawnlawton5674 was just looking for it there. : (
Very annoying indeed!!!
Months later and it isn't even on Soundcloud anymore... Sad days, my friends...
Why is it not on Spotify. I wanna know
My life would have not been complete without having heard this.
This!!!
Agreed. Yes exactly. This man has completed my musical souls needs ;)
How would you know?
mine too i guess
@@MrHandsomeboynow i dont make the rules :/
One of the rare covers that completely transforms the song, while paying proper homage to the original.
Elegantly Professed
This is the guy who wrote it

That smokey voice is killing.
its melting
Hmmm :)

This man's voice is HONEY.
this man's voice is the bees knees
+Shan-chan Ichiban It's the bear's hair
+Sorryscene Best response to the way i feel ever.
+Sorryscene Honey as fuck. Too bad his last album wasn't.
No doubt Mike D. Ray must of been on a coke binge and needed some fast cash. LOL
This man has more talent than 90 percent of the mainstream artists today.
@@asosyalpicimamk I've been in music 25 years . I would say I know the majority of them. New ones are always coming out but honestly the majority of radio play is 50 percent talented artists and the other 50 percent talented PR departments
I'm not trying g so the % is larger
No. Love him & this cover, but no.
@@augustin3 if you are in the music industry you know- this guy is absolutely more talented than 90%
He writes his own songs which are phenomenal and he creates simple beautiful arrangements himself, and he plays and sings beautifully- the high high high majority of artists have co-writers or ghost writers and can’t do an arrangement to save their lives, let alone sing well without auto tune lol
Don’t let the cowboy chords fool you
I JUST found out through 23 & Me that this artists mother is my Dad's 1st Cousin.
This guy could cover *any* song and it would sound amazing!
Get him to cover Barbie Girl by Aqua, and make that argument.
@@themightyleeoh5867I was about to post that exact same suggestion 😂
10 years later, I am still listening to this vid.
👌 Best cover ever?
Lamontagne is a big mountain of talent.
+Kleyson Pontes talent plus life lived hard, a struggle, a huge heart
Never. Ever. Assume.
+Cy Borg it's not a physical struggle to survive, but a psychological one.
urgh
I get it
I love that this was posted in 08 and people are still viewing and liking it. Keep good music in circulation.

this is SO unbelievably good, 4.15 minutes of procrastination well spent...

This just may be my favorite cover of all time. Hendrix 'Watchtower' and Jeff Buckley 'Hallelujah' level awesome.
Personally, the greatest cover of all time is quite easily hurt by johnny cash, that song is brutally better than the already good original by nine inch nails
Pre1321 saw him last night. He has soul x
Jeff Buckleys for damn sure. Still brings a tear to my eye every time I hear is rendition. His dad was a singer as well and you can hear where he got his voice. His dad was Tim Buckley.
@My name is August West
Brash? Arrogant? Yes.
One-hit wonder? ......
You'd be hard-pressed to find a Brit who can't sing along to all of "Don't Look Back in Anger", and most of the rest of the world will come in on the chorus.
More people have bought Oasis music than all but 4 other bands. In history.
3 of those 4 are Queen, the Rolling Stones, and (of course) The Beatles. (Also ABBA, but the 70s were confusing, and there's no accounting for Scandinavians)
Oasis were jerks when they were young; but if you're counting hits, character doesn't enter into it. I'll take their music and leave the tantrums.
Also, Ryan Adams' cover of "Wonderwall" is absolutely incredible!
@jkaanta8555 To be perfectly frank, at the time, Americans could get 12 cds for a penny through BMG and other companies. And Oasis was one of those CDs. Not a soul I know went into the store and asked for Oasis. It was literally force fed. Also. I don't know any of the words to Don't look Back in Anger, and neither do any of my 40+ year old friends. Wonderwall? Every douche bag with a guitar played it, and all of us cringed in unison and hated that guy.
...when the performance is so good, you dread the song ending, and you want it to flow forever, like a river.
Rivers don't flow forever, every river has a source and a mouth.
William hick forever describes time not distance
Chris Roland well then it is incorrect to compare it to a river, no river flows forever.
William hick Stop your nonsense and enjoy the music. Like H20, water is ever-present and ephemeral. Riverbed is just one of the 'solid' entities that contains it when it is not traveling in more invisible evaporated forms or in form of raindrops, condensation, fog, etc. etc. If I have to take sides, Chris Rolad is the smartest in his response because he understood I was referring to the quality of 'timelessness' or dissolution of the barrier between visible and 'invisible' or immaterial matter that nevertheless can still touch us, envelope us...
You sound fucking high.
His voice really adds gravity to the lyrics. Never needed this song more than I do now.
I could not have read/heard something more relevant to my today than your shared emotion of thought. I am sliding off the face of the mountain ,I had no business climbing. Or creating.
Thank you. I just caught my breath!
This version still kills me. Ray's passion and voice and the slow/acoustic rendering of it just make the lyrics seem so more profound than in the original.
This is an italian composition taken from the soundtrack of the spaghetti western "Preparati la bara!", by Ferdinando Baldi; The track composed by Gianfranco & Gian Piero Reverberi, is titled "Nel cimitero di Tucson"
His voice could smoke salmon. No idea; it was the first thing that came to mind.
I can't explain why that sounds so accurate...but you're _right_.

This version gave the song it's true meaning!!! Mind blown!!!

Great cover. Ray is a very much needed and soulful voice in a time of technology overdose and terrible generic studio music. Bless this man and light to all 🌈🙏
Probably the best cover I've ever heard of a song
I can't explain how much I love this song and version of this song
Better version,.God I love this guy!!!!
This song is fuckin' great, man. Absolute masterpiece.
Musicians out there, this is how you cover a song.
Why isn't he crazy famous? The music industry is fucked up :/
Ray Lamontagne is pretty famous. songs on the radio, songs on commercials. you just have to listen to a certain genre of music to know hes famous.
Thats why: its an industry, not the bes place for real artists
so true, so tired ...
Lynda Clark He is famous no doubt but he is not overly celebrated in music. Never see him perform at award shows or even given acknowledgement for this music.
i remember when i been a little younger music was soo damn nice , now days i dunno there some sh!t and alot of butts shakin 😏
His voice is like a cup of hot chocolate on a snowy, winter night.
Intense and soulful. Love his voice SO much!
His music speaks to me. He sings of the human experience. It's a shame artists like these don't get the attention they deserve.
Love this version! He infuses the song with so much passion.
DAAAAAYUUUUUM...That VOICE and such TALENT...Drips honey
Wow. I'm blown away.
Last time I BBQ'D I didn't have any BBQ sauce, I was playing Ray lamontagne while I was grilling and smoking.. my ribs were "smokey" and "sweet" and the brisket was "tender" and very moist.. it was such a simple thing..

He makes me feel like there are still prophets among us. I met him once after a show he did in my home town, he was a very quiet but incredibly genuine person. People had been crowded around him for a while before I finally got a chance to talk to him; they weren't really trying to get autographs, they just wanted to give him a hug and tell him how much he had helped them.
