it is the xeon 1230 v1 v2 v3 ? cause i have the V2 and i guarantee you that my fps are much higher than that with a 1660ti, by exemple i'm never under 35-40 fps on cyberpunk high setting (no fsr) and you drop on 25-28 pretty frequently, i have a second pc with a i7 6700 and the 1230 V2 is better than the I7 on all my games (not much)
I think it's the V1. It is the slowest of the bunch. This is a pretty un-impressive CPU. I heard the faster models also use less power, so overall they seem much better. Sorry for the late reply by the way.
That's great! Have you considered upgrading to maybe a RTX 2060? But then again now that I say that even the older GTX 1070 you have access to frame generation.
i might not have really been paying attention cause im lazy and all but.. why the different gpu, and why the different video settings on each cpu?? what was the point of the video? Don't take it as a hate comment, am just confused
Good question! I tested with 2 different graphics cards because I didn't think I was going to compare the CPU's. But I decided to later on. When testing the i5, I used the GTX 970, as it did not hold the CPU back in nearly all situations. And for the Xeon, I went with my faster RTX 3060, as I thought it would need a more powerful GPU to get everything out of the CPU. But overall, the GPU difference is not much of a factor in the results I got. Especially when the Xeon with the faster GPU still was slower than the i5 with the slower GPU. It was a video just to see what the difference between a weak 8 thread Xeon, and an i5 is, on the same socket. They cost about the same.
That is not ridiculous. You can compare 2 things that cost the same. You can also compare an i7 970, to an i7 14700, to see how things changed over the years. It does not always need to be the same generation. In my case, they are the same price, and the same socket. So both CPU's are an option for someone who has an LGA 1155 motherboard.
Hey dude.. i have the exact same thing as yours and it performs 10x better. the difference is that mines is V2 and yours is older, you want the V2 not the v1 or anything older Edit: Aswell as that.. dude ur using a 3090 with a damn 13 year old cpu!!? WHAT DID YOU EXPECT, THE BOTTLENECK IS HORRIBLE
Even my i5 13400 F doesn't perform 10 times better. I have heard good things about this V2 though. Of course I picked a fast graphics card for the reason why I don't want to hold the CPU back. I'm not testing the graphics card in this video. I'm testing the CPU specifically. If I had let's say a GTX 750 ti in the computer I would be getting GTX 750 ti performance. Not the performance the CPU can provide.
Why are you comparing an Ivy bridge I5 with a Sandy bridge Xeon?? You should be using a Ivy Bridge based Xeon like a E3 1240 V2 or E3 1270 v2! Terrible video.
I am comparing these as they are on the same CPU socket, and are a similar price. Also, if it's terrible, what can I do better? Is it the voice overs? The editing? Or just a topic you don't really care for?
Did you expect the CPU to perform like this?

This is v1 not v2

This video is def a step up in in quality and editing, good job.
Thanks!
I would say, those meltdown protection patches are installed..right? Disable them..
What are those? I just use it stock.
E3-1230 v3 would be around 100% faster than that lol
Can even be paired with a rtx 3060ti or rx6600 xt without bottlenecking them
This one is the V1 I think.
I have 1230 v2 and gtx1070 since 2013, and still perform well for gaming & 3d modeling stuff.
That's great! Have you considered upgrading to maybe a RTX 2060? But then again now that I say that even the older GTX 1070 you have access to frame generation.
@@digitaljon1109 Probably. But i prefer upgrading whole pc parts in future :)
can you try the e3-1230 v2 ?
I might try it some day. But I won't go out of my way to get it. (:
I died laughing when you explained the settings differences in GTA V. LOLOLOLOL
Nice! What was funny about it? ;p

Just paid $15 for the v5 total of 247 for a rx 580 opitiplex with 16gb ram 500gb ssd
Awesome! Is it working good?
I use 1230v2 and its still good cpu for $19
Lots of people want me to try out the v2. I might try to do that someday.
RTX is fine bro wtf
What do you mean?
I think you will find a difference in emulation ps3 games
Maybe? I never played those before.
