I understood it as Sailng... as if their car magically turned into a boat.
Sailing would be "plevem pod parusom", literally translated as "floating under sail". While "plevem" could be said in reference to sailing, without specific context, floating or swimming would be a more accurate translation.
Kryptos Using the same logic, I can say the floating would be "derjimsya na plavu".
Maybe what they meant was. "Are we sinking? No, we are not. Sooooo where should we sail to?"
Basically, one of them was talking about actually floating. But the other was using the same word, but to mean that they are sailing.
Think about it "So, where are we floating to?" Just does not sound right.

It's legal to ride a mobility scooter down the road in the UK. Just as long as it fits certain criteria that make it a 'Class 3 Invalid Carriage' and is registered. The Russians actually have a pretty common reaction to sudden trauma. I once spun out across a busy freeway (across the median, across on-coming traffic, across the service road and finally stopping safely in the grass next to the side road). Me and the car were fine, but my memory got a little fuzzy then. A guy saw it happen and pulled over to see if I needed help, and he said that I seemed really calm for what had happened. I apparently agreed and started driving again but about 10 minutes later I was crying in a gas station bathroom because HOLY FUCK I ALMOST DIED!

yup it's an adrenaline dump survival instinct to survive the moment and everything is unfolding once the event is over it drops and you start to realize everything that happend in an overwhelming flood of context. but the Russians we just saw are on a completely different level than that. they didn't try n get out they didn't stop video taping I mean the backing away from the explosion I get that one but the driving into the bridge I mean it's one thing not to scream and to think things through and react in life saving situations it's a total different thing to go meh who gives a fuck and make a dark joke about it like it's just another Monday at work. a fuck another traffic jam at most not even that bad. I mean if they at least slowly attempted to do anything to save themselves in a calm rational manner ok that's normal to me from situations I've been through and that you just can't get out of or be scared during etc.

I am living only a few hours drive from the Russian border. People here including me have pretty much the same calm reaction to danger and not any reaction after either... Maybe it is the long distances and isolation that does it, or that our government bureaucrats act like we live in soviet union and tries their best to ruin your life. Dying does not seems so scary when your life is hell...

In the town I grew up in, there were these two guys in electric wheelchairs who were super drunks. On nice days, they'd be just cruising down the main streets, shirtless, beer in hand, ain't giving a fuck. Our bus driver had to plan her route around them.

I once had an amazing mailman. I'm serious. He would bring little dog treats to all the neighborhood pet dogs and make friends with them and always had a smile and was very friendly and always in a good mood, no matter what. We never missed any mail, or deliveries when he was our guy. He was so wonderful, that honestly, I still feel torn about feeling slightly guilty at thinking he was probably up to something I'll never even know about. Maybe he was secretly a serial killer or something. Then again, maybe he just really was passionate about his job and a good person. I'd love to think that's true. I'll never know for sure...

The first video is in the UK, In the UK its perfectly normal for people to do that, Sure its annoying but its not that he just doesn't give a fuck its just that he's old and probably doesn't know what inconvenience he is causing or that he is an old fart and is deliberately doing that because the government took away his license for drug driving. If you notice in the video of the person riding their non-car mobile unit (whatever you call those things) in the road... they're not "driving" *that* much slower than the rest of traffic. It still takes a lot of chutzpah to do what that person did though, and you get the impression that they wouldn't have otherwise cared.

Sure they are, at least some of them. They have the ability to remain completely calm in deadly situations. That's a gift. Usually the first person to die in a deadly situation is the person freaking out. The only ones not to be celebrated are the small vehicle driver and the mail lady, because that was heartless not caring whereas everyone else was I don't care about this deadly situation not caring.

In relation to #2, I live in Beijing, and that's so accurate you wouldn't even believe. Everyone thinks of China as a police state and super controlled and stuff, but honestly if I see three cops in one day I find it abnormal, and that's walking around the most populated areas. Yeah internet censorship is a thing and their jails are terrible, but the cops don't do shit until they have to.
As a mailman, that last one cracked me right up. Not only is her ridiculous 'driving on the lawn' approach hilarious, but we're actually specially instructed to avoid any situation where we would have to reverse because of the ridiculous blind spots that the trucks have. And the mail people around my way enjoy leaving nasty notes about shoveling the proper amount of snow away from the mailbox, and not leaving the trash can so close to the mailbox on trash day and whatever other crap that would be quicker to just deal with than to write letters about.

Today I discovered that I might be Russian. That is exactly how I react. I never get why people are so scared of shit....especially fun things like explosions. Hell, I wouldn't have even backed up. As far as the car in the river, the obvious thing to do is just go with the flow until maybe you can find a way to drive out. It's like how when you slide off an icy road into a ditch you don't hit the brake in panic (like most idiots), you keep on that fuckin gas pedal and drive back out of the ditch as soon as you have enough momentum and lack of "steepness" to get back on the road.

My mail carrier is the crazy version of Samuel Jackson. He chills in front of my house EVERY DAY for over an hour. The first half hour is legit lunch, second half hour he smoke 2 blunts and watches porn on his phone. No fucks given.

The mobility scooter clip appears to be from the UK, where mobility scooters actually have the same road rights as bicycles. A mobility scooter is legally allowed to drive on, I believe, anything but a motorway and as such that clip was perfectly legitimate driving, and possibly more legal than driving on the pavement.
