VERY COLD Winter Flight with Cancer Patient | Angel Flight Pilot Vlog #3 | Cessna Conquest Turboprop

- On this charity Angel Flight, we got the opportunity to help a family who's 11 year old daughter has been battling cancer her entire life. She has been to chemotherapy too many times to count and her family has gone to such incredible lengths to give their daughter the best opportunities and best life they can. With temperatures as low as -50°C at the airport, this trip was only suited for a turbine turboprop aircraft (Cessna Conquest 1). This is the typical type of winter flying that we have to do during Canadas sometimes harsh winter months, but despite the circumstances, everyone was all smiles and we all had a fun filled adventure together. Angel Flights Alberta, its volunteers, sponsors, and volunteer pilots have truly changed the way I look at flying. Through their network, they have been able to help so many people (like Lauren and her family) at times when they need it most. Hope you enjoy the video. Links are below! Great volunteer work wishing the girl a full recovery.
Thanks so much!
What an honour for you and the team to make such a difference for that little girl and her family. Well done guys ❤️
It's a real honor and opportunity to help someone at such a young age with health needs
It is :)
Another great flight! Thank you Evan and the rest of the crew for sharing what you and Angel Flight Alberta do.
Thanks so much Peter! Means a lot. Hopefully we'll get to do some more flying soon!
I'm an M1 abrams crewmember and it uses a agt 1500 turbine ive gotten so used to the sound of it helps me sleep just hearing the subtle wine of the turbine engine
That’s amazing actually. Sometimes there are just certain sounds that are surprisingly peaceful. Like the hiss of the wind over the windshield when the airplane is around 200knots. The sound changes pitch and it will almost put me to sleep sometimes.
@@EvanLuft I hope that I can, some day enjoy working as a pilot. Keep that bird flying there's not whole lot of her kind left.
@@fly000125 Yes one day soon!! What are you flying right now?
@@EvanLuft no man I'm actually deployed right now I'm driving tanks in the middle east for uncle Sam I plan on going to flight school in a little over 10 months time when I get out
@@fly000125 thats awesome! Be safe over there! and when you get back hit me up if you need flying school advice!!
Great video! Definitely doing something good here. Wishing the girl all the best and all the strength in the world!

Боже, храни Лорен!
Good job. I really like that airplane. How that little girl fares well with her treatment
Really sad to say but she passed away a couple weeks ago. We wanted to go to the funeral, over 800 or so attendees. She had so much support, which is great but sad ending :(
Hope Lauren is doing well ❤
This video killed me, so emotional
Just wondering Evan, do they ever let you follow up or keep track to see how the patient is still doing. I hope the treatments worked for this little girl. Your videos always leave me with a warm fuzzy bro.
They do sometimes! Usually through Instagram etc :) or Facebook :)
Why so far to get chemo? Very nice to do for sure! Sad to see little one's go through that!
I think it’s a specialist centre as well but not too sure. Thanks! Me too!!! :)
Just crave that turbine sound
I know right!
-40 C = -40 F.
Good Job !!!
