Flying IFR with my YOUNGEST PASSENGER YET! | Pilot Vlog #3 | Angel Flight in Cessna Turboprop

- This was one very special flight for us in the Cessna Conquest Turboprop! Our passenger was only 8 weeks old! Just a baby still. Unfortunately, she is in need of open heart surgery which requires regular visits to the Vancouver hospital. Without an airplane, it would be a 2500 km journey by car, making the trip pretty much impossible. Through the Angel Flights Alberta network, we were linked up with the baby and her mother to do a volunteer flight to transport them from Fort St John to the Boundary Bay Airport in Vancouver and back! This video of the return trip back to Fort St John. What an honour it was to be a part of this organization! Thanks to all that were involved in making this trip possible!

Great to see this. I flew for Angel Flight for several years and even served as the Idaho wing commander in the 1990s. It really gives you a good feeling to see the faces of parents whose kids have been helped by this service.
Wonderful video with great commentary. A huge thank you for being part Angel Flight Alberta!
Thanks so much! Will gladly partake again
Honestly watching this is what helps me get through all my subjects in ground school. This sounds like a dream what you do, and thank you for sharing it with us.
I’m really glad you enjoyed It!! it means a lot!! Once you finish your licensing, let me know and come do some flying!!
Thanks for sharing brother. Estimating the flare is always tough at night.... Thanks for donating your time and resources to help this mom and her lovely baby. Hope she is alright.
Thanks so much! Haha and yes the flare sometimes happens late when it’s late ;p
Your guys are awesome, thank you for what you do.👍🙏🏻🇺🇸
Thanks so much. I owe it to the people that lined it up :)

Great job guys! Thank you Conquest is a good plane for all around use.
Thanks! It is a great airplane! Very lucky to get to fly a few of these 425s
Nice video! Thanks for the video and tour service. I’m looking to do Hope Air in the 340A (no Angel Flight out east) - been documenting my trips on RUclips similar to you for the learning and to spread the Twin Cessna love.
Thanks a lot!! I’ll check yours out too!! The 340 is a great machine! Narrower cabin but great performance!
Great video! Looking forward to more!
Thanks so much!!

Anytime! :)
@@EvanLuft does she have the black-hawk engine mods or is it worth doing
No not this one. I’ve flown 4 other 425s, and only one had the -135 blackhawks. :) they would be great in the summer!
@@EvanLuft any other benefits Evan, just curious
@@scotty11782 Well, the main benefits are that they are newer engines, and you can run them a bit hotter. At any given time your max power is limited by either torque or engine temp (ITT). Where we live up in Canada, we are almost always limited by torque with the exception of cruise at higher altitudes due to the colder ambient temperatures. Therefore, the blackhawk upgrade wouldn't give us any performance benefit because we always reach max torque before max temp. However, if you lived in say Phoenix or Florida or the Sahara haha where it is much hotter, then there is probably a benefit. Takeoff in Phoenix might cause you to reach max temp while in the climb out, in which case the blackhawks would allow you to operate hotter, and thus, reach your max torque power for longer. In summary... in Canada... a blackhawk 135 Conquest vs a stock -112 would see the same performance because they would both be at max torque during climb. :)
Eventhough I donot live in Canada I thank you for your service. We do have Angel Fliight here in Australia also and Angel Flight intregues me. I am not a Pilot but even at 63 I am determined to get my Pilots License so that I to can join this Free service to patients etc. God Bless everyone who is involved with Angel Flight all over the world.
Thanks a lot! Yeah I am realizing the angel flight network is much larger than I originally thought! :) the perfect age to start flight training is… whatever age you are right now :p
Thank you my friend.
How is the babe, thank you excellent fly.
i think they are doing good! :)
We're doing ok, still hanging in there and waiting for a date for surgery! (Likely will happen at 3-4 months, they figure.) Thanks for asking. 💕 We're so incredibly grateful to this group of guys for flying us. They were great company and it was such a luxury to fly to her appointment and then to be able to fly right back home afterwards. They took great care of us and we can't thank them enough for what they do! If you'd like to keep updated on baby Alara's journey, we do post updates to a GoFundMe page set up by a wonderful friend of ours. 😊 gofund.me/47ab15b3
Thank you again to Angel Flights, North Cariboo Air, everyone else involved with our special flight...and of course to our four angels that actually flew/accompanied us. ✈❤ Wishing you guys a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Is it just the video, or are the landing lights not that bright? Still the old retractable lights?
It was actually because I only use the taxi light for landings when it is good visibility. Sometimes I prefer it. It was pretty dim though. They are the new LED lights too
EVAN, DO YOU FLIGHT INSTRUCT AT ALL? YOU ARE SO METICULOUS ON ALL ASPECTS OF THE FLIGHT. THAT WAS SURE A BEAUTIFUL THING U DID FOR THAT MOM AND DAUGHTER!! STAY SAFE PLEASE...bc
❤❤❤
