- Panchiko. For some of you, you already know what I am talking about and know the actual masterpiece their entire discography is. For others you probably have no idea of what I’m talking about and probably think I just butchered the Japanese gambling game. But no this band is probably one of the most mysterious bands to ever exist on the internet. If you look on streaming platforms it says their album deathmetal was released in 2000, no this is not a mistake on streaming platforms but the fact that the band didn’t gain popularity until just this decade. So why did they go unnoticed for so long? How were they found? This will all be covered in this video. The Mysterious Story Of Panchiko

It's easier to be a critic than a creator. Physical pain isn't necessary when you consider it's just one person's opinion. And their opinion is no more valid or absurd as yours or mine

I too damn near shit my pants and dived out the window at that.
i didn't know anything about this band and the mysterious lore. i just found them on spotify one day, spotify algorithm is quite something to recommend this to me based on my listening history. i immediately fell in love with the music and since have been listening every of their songs to death. i'm just devastated because there isn't more and i can't quite find something that hits the same as their music.
Maybe you can take a look at their sources of inspiration for more similar bands. But panchiko is a rare gem for sure!

Don't be devastated. I know one of the band members, look into their influences as a starting point, then similar artists and you'll find countless avenues to discover new music. If you are US based they're literally just about to go on tour 🙂

I saw there first live show in 20 years yesterday such great people so nice and funny plus got a vinyl signed a sticker and a tshirt plus badge but they sounded amazing

things like this always make me wonder how many amazing recordings are on cassette tapes in an attic or basement, stowed away because someone thought it wasn’t good enough, or it was just never dropped for whatever reason

I’m currently in the phase of being obsessed with this band. In 2022, I randomly came across them on Spotify through my recommendations. One of the first artist’s I followed on Spotify lol.

I was looking at similar artists on Spotify about two years ago and I found panchiko, I’m so glad I did but I wish there was more
Their story kinda reminds me to Vashti Bunyan story, only less tragic.
I'm glad this guys can see how much we appreciate what they did decades ago
so happy they're gaining traction, they've gained easily 100k monthly listeners on spotify within the past couple weeks and all of the songs have surpassed at least a million listens, really hope it causes them to release more music

Panchiko is my all time favorite band. D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L, All They Wanted, Stabilisers For Big Boys and Untitled Demo 1997 are my all time favorites. This band is my heart.

idk not really misterios imo. they were just not known anywhere and didnt get signed to any label. so they had just a few copies of their EP for friends and family, and someone found their cd in a trift shop years later and posted it online. thats all.
I mean, it was misterious when the post was posted on 4chan, when noone knew anything about it, but now when we know they just didnt get signed anywhere and the band just dissolved, its nothing really misterious anymore
I haven’t seen anyone else say this but I kinda think panchikos sound is kind of like deftones if they were a more chill sound love both bands

yo I just got into "Panchiko" rabbit hole, did little reaserch and found that at first EP's rip was foating on file sharing sites, The original anonymous 4chan poster subsequently disappeared and deleted the photographs thread became inactive but that haven't stopped rip to spread via file sharing sites, But in 2017 as you said it was uploaded to youtube by user named "sticki", after some time sticki deleted his channel but ep was uploaded by their new channel "dismiss yourself" and this upload is still up i link it below. After some time "dismiss yourself" uploaded the bitrot free version (also linked below).

I went downtown after work for literally no reason, walked across the street to mercury lounge to see if anything was going on and saw a looooooooong line of hip peeps. Asked them who was playing and they said panchiko - the rest is history
