I don’t interact a lot with my neighbours either...it doesn’t mean I’m weird. It just means I like my privacy and dislike nosy neighbours 👌 the amount of mistakes and wrongly convicted people in the justice system is terrifying 😳 it’s definately a broken system
So because he played clarinet, liked bees and didn't talk to his neighbors he was weird and therefore a suspect? wow. I hope none of my neighbors ever turn up dead. and the fact that he didn't attend the funeral means absolutely nothing...they just said he never talked to the neighbors. at least the cops and prosecutors apologized to him after he was found to be innocent. Most departments would not ever do that. I guess they can have props for that.
One of the most disturbing aspects of this case is that one of the informants was an undercover police officer who very clearly lied about the jailhouse confession. If the police had done their jobs they could have solved this case and brought about justice for Christine. Instead, her killer got to live his entire life and end it on his own terms. Knowing who he is is not justice.
In order to believe there are many false convictions, one must believe the justice system is deeply flawed, but I don't, I believe the overwhelming majority of convictions are correct and as evidentiary science grows the percentage of false convictions drops even lower
32:17 We can only hope the guilt ate at him every day since the murder in 1984. And of course the fear of being caught. I hope he was constantly looking over his shoulder, never able to get comfortable.
Police that time got something right. The criminal is "someone local and knows the family" Maybe if they didn't focus too much on Paul Morin, they might have caught the real murderer.
All those years that poor man suffered all because he kept to himself .... I'm as weird as this man as I only wave to my neighbours..... RIP Christine...
Such a tragic death! May this innocent child rest in peace! I'm glad they at least apologized to the poor man who was wrongly convicted. But he'll never get that time back again.
I'm thankful for these shows. I find each episode informative and educational. I'm learning a lot about Canada's judicial system and how the police operate. Although it is sad that the system has many flaws that can potentially wreck lives.
I am so glad for the family that they figured out who murdered this little girl. It is sad that the true murderer didn't go to prison. It is sad also for the strange young man next doors life being ruined over and over just because he was different and the police just pushed for a conviction. Thank God for DNA.
So sad what happened to Christine. Glad DNA found the killer, even though he had passed away. Too bad police targeted wrong person like Guy. Wrongful convictions exist.
Wtf is weird about a man playing a clarinet? My son played when he was little and loved it...until his insensitive father said it was a girls instrument.
They better run his DNA to other cases that are still open, he probably did it again and he couldn't live with himself anymore, i think because he made a other mistake,
Things were different then and sadly predators took advantage of this. Young children and teens shouldn't be left alone to to wander in their neighborhoods its not safe. Its not even safe for grown women to jog alone and its almost 2021.
I am so angry Hoover died before the piece of sh** could be interrogated and confess exactly what happened!!! This poor family. Christine, Paul Morin, her mum dad and brother 💔
I remember this case, I feel so sorry for guy and remember his mom weeping, I never think Paul did murder Christine the trial took place in London court
I am so glad they finally figured this out. Now let's move to the law suites. They made that man life a living hell. Now let's imagine all the poor saps, who do not have the money to afford good representation. Yeah that's wht I thought. SUE
I recall this story very well as my cousins daughter played with her all the time. My cousin moved from the area the month after Christine was found. RIP little angel
I remember this story so very well. It’s one of those storys just stick with you for life!! There had been a few that had done this to me🥲😭💔💔💔💔 only to have my own niece story to the list. My niece was 7 yrs old when her caregiver murdered her in 2008 in Toronto , Canada 🇨🇦 her name is Katelynn Sampson . May all these yg girls rest in heavenly peace🙏🏽 I still keep all the families in my daily prayers. ❤️🙏🏽🇨🇦. My heart will never be the same! I’m BROKEN!!!! 💔💔💔🥲
Whoahaha, "Christine's father, Robert was incarcerated at the time". They slipped that in rather casually. Shows what trash that family were. It is always a friend of the family. And the mother and son knew it. Poor Mr Morin. Poor Christine. The only 2 decent parties in this farce of justice.
It’s good that the cops apologized but if they hadn’t had tunnel vision all those years ago maybe they could have found the real killer before he died.
I’m glad that he got his “justice” finally. It was a scary story when I was a kid growing up and watching now recognize every street/building in this video…but media is media…mostly lies…now back track…
"Is it justice?" No. It isn't. This subhuman got to live his life however he pleased until he chose not to any more. While the little girl whose life he took didn't. Not to mention that men like him... it's highly unlikely that she was his only victim.
I grew up in Newmarket and was around same age as Christine. This case was a huge deal. My mom worried for us kids because there was a local killer on loose.
Humans are flawed. Some have bad intentions and some have good intentions but we are all flawed. That is all I know. Thank God for genetic evidence. I also wonder how many innocent people have been convicted of something they did not do in times past ? I’m glad we all live in a time and place where science can prove innocence beyond a reasonable doubt. RIP Christine ❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️
Supposedly if one of my neighbours went missing I would be the main suspect since I do not interact with neither of my family nor neighbours and I’m weird , how original!
Just because he kept bees, played the clarinet and kept to himself doesn't make him weird... He probably didn't go to the funeral because he never talked to her or her parents... I understand why he never talked to them, they're judgemental people.
I don't talk to my neighbours. I don't socialise. I read and write and play the viola. What happens if my neighbour dies? This is an appalling story. The gentleman who was accused and spent 18 months in jail should have received more than just an "unreserved" apology. He deserved compensation for a wasted 18 months of his one precious life on earth.
Im from queensville I live in a very small village i live 2mins from there house and everyone in this town is friendly but you need to fit in or else the town is still like this
I don’t interact a lot with my neighbours either...it doesn’t mean I’m weird. It just means I like my privacy and dislike nosy neighbours 👌 the amount of mistakes and wrongly convicted people in the justice system is terrifying 😳 it’s definately a broken system

So they destroyed a mans life for nothing.
After being allowed to try him for the same crime twice. Double jeopardy anybody?
I do not socialize with my neighbors. I wave when I have to and that’s about it. I guess I’m a weirdo. 🤷🏻♀️
I always get suspicious when someone plays the clarinet.
Precisely, anything you do will be a sign of guilt once they decide you are guilty!
It's odd that a 22 year old man didn't take interest in his 10 year old neighbor?
that poor man went through hell. It's almost as sad as christines murder
It makes you wonder just how many more lives have been ruined by false convictions.
It's scary. So many tortured souls.
In order to believe there are many false convictions, one must believe the justice system is deeply flawed, but I don't, I believe the overwhelming majority of convictions are correct and as evidentiary science grows the percentage of false convictions drops even lower

*police* : we have a suspect
*courts* : ok, what kind of evidence do you have?
*police* : he's weird
*courts* : uum ok
Guy seems like a super warm and nice guy. His eyes tells the truth.
What I’ve learned from this channel is the Canada justice system sucks🤷🏻♀️
His story is just as tragic as hers.
Oh my GOD they ruined his life and reputation.
I never believed Morin killed Christine...I think her spirit pushed and pushed until the truth came out....God bless you Morin...
Imagine if the cop actually did their job when the little girl first found missing, instead of just wanting to get things done asap

What an awful story. Just messed up all around. These people got no justice.
How did they find him not guilty at the first trial and guilty at the second one when evidence from the first trial was proven as lies?
First time I’ve ever heard of anyone being tried twice for the same crime. That’s disgraceful.
At 14 years old, Steven Truscott was sentenced to death in 1959 but only in 2007 was his conviction overturned.
I was going to say this case reminded me of that one. It's truly sad that history keeps repeating itself
I thought once you were found innocent, they couldn't try you again?
So sad what happened to Christine. Glad DNA found the killer, even though he had passed away. Too bad police targeted wrong person like Guy. Wrongful convictions exist.
Rest in peace Christine, you finally have justice.
Wtf is weird about a man playing a clarinet? My son played when he was little and loved it...until his insensitive father said it was a girls instrument.

I don't interact much with my neighbors...am I weird...hell no.
He stayed positive through it all I would have been devastated- rip
Just love those 'jailhouse informants'....so reliable.. ;-/
Seriously they called the family after the announcement. Should have been the other way.
Poor guys seems like hes on the spectrum so deemed as a weirdo therefore must be guilty 🙄
Things were different then and sadly predators took advantage of this. Young children and teens shouldn't be left alone to to wander in their neighborhoods its not safe. Its not even safe for grown women to jog alone and its almost 2021.

And this is the reason why there shouldn´t be a death penalty - you can never be sure, that you got the right one. So many wrongly executed.
I am so glad they finally figured this out. Now let's move to the law suites. They made that man life a living hell. Now let's imagine all the poor saps, who do not have the money to afford good representation. Yeah that's wht I thought. SUE
Fly high beautiful little Angel.
Oh I'm glad to see this second part of this story!
Isn’t this what you call double jeopardy?
What a horrible situation. I hope Morin is doing well.
Since when are we judging those who are different?...
Uh.. since always
They just destroyed a mans life with thier own suspicions...
Isn't that double jeopardy??
I recall this story very well as my cousins daughter played with her all the time. My cousin moved from the area the month after Christine was found. RIP little angel
Poor guy, schizophrenic and falsely accused - he must have been terrified and so confused! 🥺😣
Defense attorney's wig is really amazing.
disappointing, does not say how they came upon real suspect nd if he had further instances of violence.
I'm most definitely hook on this channel 👍 New Subscriber.
How? What about double jeopardy? Not allowed here in the USA. Maybe Canada
Either side can appeal a verdict. Yes, that's also how it works in the USA.
They talk nicer about the real killer than they did about Morin, which was innocent... Strange family.
It sucks that police didn't even TRY to consider another person
Oh those poor parents,😭😭😭😭
How sad this story is ! ! The family now got the truth .💓
I remember this story so very well. It’s one of those storys just stick with you for life!! There had been a few that had done this to me🥲😭💔💔💔💔 only to have my own niece story to the list. Sad there’s always those that suffers terribly for the next guy to be given a fair chance. God bless all involved.
The court need to pay Morin.

Truly a tragic story
i sincerely hope Guy Morin SUED TF outta the City, the PD, and those bumbling investigator Detectives.
Why was Christine Jessop's father in jail ?
Fraud.
I pray that innocent man wins a lawsuit
GOOD GOING COLD CASE YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. So happy for everyone The family truly has justice and Guy there is know doubt that he is innocent
I’m glad that he got his “justice” finally. It was a scary story when I was a kid growing up and watching now recognize every street/building in this video…but media is media…mostly lies…now back track…
After watching this I'll never talk to a cop again
RIP Christine I feel sad for her mom
The Jessop family suffered so much. I can feel their pain. Right to the very end.
I feel bad 😞 for pure girl Rest In Peace angel 🙏🙏
What’s happened to the father? Where is he at?
"Is it justice?" No. It isn't. This subhuman got to live his life however he pleased until he chose not to any more. While the little girl whose life he took didn't. Not to mention that men like him... it's highly unlikely that she was his only victim.
Poor kid - a dodgy family friend and a father in prison. Some kids just don't have a chance in life.
May Christine Jessop Rest In Peace. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have always been so sad for him. He really was so damaged by hypotheses!
I grew up in Newmarket and was around same age as Christine. This case was a huge deal. My mom worried for us kids because there was a local killer on loose.

I agree, we are blessed to have Good Lawyers who defend the innocents.
I am sooooo jealous of Ken's hair !!!!
Moral of story. ...keep your kids chained inside homes! Period
Just because he was weird, they believed the mother?! Smh!
I feel like if one court finds you guilty and another finds you not, you should have a 3rd trial tiebreaker.
Let's hear it for the M & M's!
I don't talk to my neighbours. I don't socialise. I read and write and play the viola. What happens if my neighbour dies? This is an appalling story. Mr Morin was lucky not charged guilty or he will be locked up for something he didn't do.
Im from queensville I live in a very small village i live 2mins from there house and everyone in this town is friendly but you need to fit in or else the town is still like this
I have one child I don't know what I will do if something happened to her
Omg, an innocent????
Horrible
Defense James Lockyer had some beautiful Hobbit hair going on back then.
We all a little weird, so does make anyone of suspicious?
Ken is dedicated to that mullet.
Wait what--doesn't Canada have the Double Jeopardy Clause?!
Very well done.
We have a court of law.
We need a court of justice.
That dude did not look 24 lol
