Notice when how this scumbag's attorney says he's sorry for what he did them proceeds to talk about reasons he's "sorry" that have everything to do with him and how it will ruin his life and said NOTHING about being sorry for ruining the lives of his innocent victims and their families? Makes me sick.
He should never get out. I think a basic rule should be, If your victim can’t live life above ground then the criminal can’t live life past the prison bars.
I can’t believe they let him out unsupervised to a healing lodge? Also when they spoke about him they almost seemed sympathetic to him when he pled guilty? Saying he did feel remorse?! WTF- he’s obviously just playing everyone, he was acting in his own interests.
Tina Wu, you're an absolute warrior angel! You saved your precious sister and brought endless honor to your family and your name. You are a brilliant being and your memory is canonized by your noble sacrifice. To Theresa and the Wu family, my deepest condolences for your loss.
I remember this case. This guy and his wife both worked with me at IKEA at Leslie/Sheppard at the time. The entire store and staff was in absolute shock. His wife quite working after the story broke out. We all felt bad for her, and the embarrassment she endured.
(Ret.) Det. Gary Giroux was one of the best detectives in the city. His skill is legendary. I know that Crime Beat could do other stories of the many cases he was involved with and solved. Crime Beat, you guys do such a good job producing these shows.
The real danger is the justice system. They think they can “rehabilitate” someone.. I don’t believe it can’t be done, but in a person like this guy. Nope. He literally killed people and then went to feed, barb &hug his children with the same hands 🙄 I hope he never gets any chance for parole. Tina Wu didn’t get the chance to live, why should he get a second chance @ life?
He's very sorry he got caught ... he was never sorry for what he did ... only that his life, family, and freedom are now lost to him forever ... parole should never be granted, as Tina will never experience life, and Teresa must endure her wounds loses, both physically and mentally ... just as his other two victims still have to face their fears and trauma
Wow the Canadian judicial system is way too lenient! He should rot in prison!😤. So sorry for the people who were unfortunate enough to cross paths with this wolf in sheep's clothing😔
as a young girl in the late 90's / 2000's, girls stopped sleeping in basement bedrooms because so man were snatched or killed by intruders who got in via the basement window. scary stuff
That interviewed victim of him came across as so strong and dignified! Huge respect for her. It's good to hear that the surviving sister has achieved success and family bonds in the aftermath of their violent tragedy. Glad that the cop, even retired, keeps in touch and follows the killers and rapists rehabilitation still. And that Toronto will be safe at minimum another 4 years from the perpetrator.
this is why i lock my doors and windows each and every night before bed, check, then double check! at least a creep would have to break something to get in, give me some time to get my louseville slugger.
It’s sickening to hear. Having lost a child I know the grief. And all the rippling effects that never leave you. My heart goes out to all that suffered because of this sick individual.
How can you watch this and NOT like Jeffery Chang! He is a scholar and a Gentleman! Shit I’m a grown man and I just wanna squeeze his checks! And that phone call must of been the hardest thing he’s ever had to do!
I noticed my mom's windows with side locks could be jimmied open, so I installed centre pin locks in all windows (drilling shattered 1 window). If I saved her life nobody will ever know.
He’s sort of out? A pit bull bites a person or two and they’re put down! This animal killed, murdered a human being & he goes to a healing lodge? Wtf? And to the lawyer: the victim doesn’t get to know why & what difference would it make? She’s still dead after being terrorized, and the others suffered as well!
Much Respect for Detective Giroux. He is definitely one of the best in Homicide. Deepest Condolences to All affected by these Heinous Crimes. God bless the Women.❤️💔💙🙏🙏
Defence lawyer: he was very remorseful for what he had done. He was gonna be i jail, he was losing his family, children, so yeah, he was very sorry..... Yada yada yada... Uhm. No. He was feeling very sorry for him self for what HE was gonna lose. He wasnt sorry for what he took away from others. Pleading guilty is not a sign of remorse. Its just a thing many people are adviced to do, to get a lighter sentence - even those who are actually innocent.
Anthony thank you for presenting such a sad story.I was brought to tears, how brave the survivor lady has coped with this heinous crime. Bless you, your an inspiration.
This coward has the nerves, to blame his actions on Mary J! Chop!! Those dreads off!!.. Sleep in Power to Tina!💚💞💕 Love, Peace, Light and Comfort to family and friends.
The only thing I may have felt inclined to raid when stoned, if I could have only summoned up the energy to do so, is the cookie jar! I wonder if, while incarcerated, he sheared off that heavy flea infested shaggy carpet he carried around on his messed up head.
Can some one *please* explain to me the pathetic laws in our country? How do *three* serious criminal charges "murder, attempt murder, sexual assault with a deadly weapon" = 20 years only? Couldn't they try him in court for each charge separately?
Finding it harder and harder to watch these because of how upsetting it is to find out the sentences for such heinous crimes. Really hope things change for the future in the justice system. Someone needs to do something...
These stories on this channel... done very well. Speaks volumes on the information provided. These families have been through so much. RIP to all taken.
Thank you for this. Very sensitive account of the horrific crimes, and I really appreciate the way the victims and their families are at the heart of the narrative, as it should be.. So much hatred and violence in that man, no criminal history. So many lives destroyed, and why? What matters is that we know how he destroyed lives, long after he became a prison number. The grace and dignity, of the Korean family is incredible, as is the strength of the disguised victim fighting through constant fear. Let psychiatrists learn what they can from this man as part of his rehabilitation before parole, if that is possible.
How many times are they going to talk about how “he was driving them to their flute lessons when tragedy struck,” “when tragedy struck,” “then tragedy struck.” These are murders, not a meteor that fell out of the sky or getting struck by lightning. They would still be beautiful, thriving women if it weren’t for some scumbag.
How can they release this man ..... bizarre that the laws of each country are so different . He would have got two life sentences here so 50 yrs minimum , probably do at least half of that before parole would be considered. Sick dude ....glad one of the sisters survived .
Please stop your hypocrite way of insulting the society. Don't call it a life sentence. Call it what it is, 20 years, (hopefully). When a murderer confess to such heinous crime, it is a worse crime to call it second degree murder.
Some people are just evil. Some are just evil in small amounts their whole life; making life miserable for others. Some like this guy, just do it all at once....they're still evil.
It’s incredible watching these shows and other shows about Canadian justice. I’ve come to the belief that the Canadian prosecutors a their police and judges are just plain lazy. They’re ready to take plea deals and light sentences for the most horrific crimes, with no thought of the victims or their families. Bow your heads in shame.
I am 3 mins in and I'm getting chills. R.i.p to those two innocent ladies😢😢 Thank you for uploading this! I just finished watching another one and it was sooooo sad🥺but I'm glad the justice system dealt with the murderers 😠 Rip Ryan Lane
I'm so sorry for those young girls and all his victims. Rest in Pease sweet girl. She was so innocent it was not fair was all taken away from her and to all those other women I'm so sorry for y'all's pain
Why? Just why would a man that has no previous convictions, does not fit the profile of a normal sex offender kill and rape anyone, let alone target Asian women. This is baffling and scary.
Why on earth dies Canada not have the same punishment as the US? If you get LIFE IN PRISON... YOU STAY THERE FOR LIFE. THATS WHERE THIS GUY SHOULD BE.... PERIOD. My guess is he will offend AGAIN.
Ok I’m calling complete BS ... in my youth I’ve been high on ‘copious amounts of marijuana’ and never once thought hey let’s go break into someone’s house and either sexually assault them or stab them if they fight back... and I know I’m not the only one who’s gonna call that out... that’s just an excuse drugs don’t give you crazy/violent thoughts like that
He was very sorry for what he had done!!!!? He was only sorry for what he had done because he got caught and would no longer enjoy his life with his wife and children!!!!
"No meaningful reason for his release" ??? WHAT THE HELL! Holy shit... you seriously allow someone with a life sentence to go on parole? What is THE POINT???
Yes. I've been looking for something to watch tha I haven't seen already. I love Saturday night true crime. Thanks for the upload. This is so sad. What a monster!
He wasn't sorry for what he did. He was sorry because he got caught. If he was sorry he'd go to therapy to deal with his urges, not to assault and kill
I sincerely hope that Theresa Whu (she may have a different last name now but I apologize if I am spelling her maiden name incorrectly) has been able to live a fulfilling life and does not live in fear of men, especially those that look like that creep whose name doesn’t matter. I hope her family is able to honour Tina’s memory and life in a way that doesn’t recognize too much who ended her life and how he did it. He doesn’t deserve to be thought of in correlation with any of his victims. I honestly believe that these types of criminals should be stripped of their names so not to enhance any pleasure they get from the public knowing of their crimes. They should be given a number only when spoken about in the media and made to understand that part of their punishment is that they can not be acknowledged or fought for by anyone other then their lawyers and possibly one family member that has to be approved by a board much like a parole board but that criminals of this type will be discriminated against to utmost possible degree and warehoused with minimal amenities of which they must work for. Sorry for the tangent. I hope his living victims are aware that we are rooting for them and I hope that they all have access to any resources necessary for the rest of their lives and the lives of their family members. We should be spending money helping the victims not allowing brutal killers to attend healing retreats.
Hiding in plain sight This monster should have been locked up forever. Never again to walk amongst normal people. A leopard never changes his spots and if this monster ever walks free he will do something terrible again. It’s not a case of if he offends again but when., the thought of him being set free chills my blood.
Broke into 2 innocent young women's home, girls really, and tried to kill them both, would have succeeded if one hadn't made a desperate call, and we're supposed to believe he's remorseful. Yeah, sorry he got caught. All women should now be on absolute alert, particularly Asian women.
This show is so much better than crime watch daily! So horrendous over the top narrators that sound like game show hosts and no reporters talking to closed doors super dramatic and loud. Glad I found this show. The other one is unwatchable for reasons already stated.
Ground window apartments .. Never understood, and I never will..🤷🏾♀️ What idiot came up with this idea?🤦🏾♀️ As for myself, an apartment, top floor! I like to see them try.. 😁
We've got murder, attempted murder, rape, attempted rape, and breaking and entering (not to mention premeditation). That's enough to get you life (if not the death penalty) in every state in the US without the possibility of parole. But because he pled guilty and happens to be part indigenous, he got 20 years. What about the victims? What do they get? A lifetime of horrible memories and PTSD. I think Canada deserves a boycott.
Ever.
LIFE SHOULD MEAN LIFE!!! HE IS DANGEROUS. SHAME ON JUSTICE SYSTEM.
I can’t believe they let him out unsupervised to a healing lodge? Also when they spoke about him they almost seemed sympathetic to him when he pled guilty? Saying he did feel remorse?! WTF- he’s obviously just playing everyone, he was acting in his own interests.
Typical case of someone that regrets having been caught and going to jail. Not for what he did.
Tina Wu, you're an absolute warrior angel! You saved your precious sister and brought endless honor to your family and your name. You are a brilliant being and your memory is canonized by your noble sacrifice. To Theresa and the Wu family, my deepest condolences for your loss.
Who cares what he is going through??? He took a young girls life. He should NEVER be released. He is a predator.
Thank you for sharing these Canadian murder crime stories , I’m a Canadian
I remember this case. This guy and his wife both worked with me at IKEA at Leslie/Sheppard at the time. The entire store and staff was in absolute shock. His wife quite working after the story broke out. We all felt bad for her, and the embarrassment she endured.
Thank you for not having commercials every five minutes very much appreciated
Marijuana did not cause this.
I feel so bad for those sisters 😓 how does a murderer get to go to a healing lodge! You’re in prison.
(Ret.) Det. Gary Giroux was one of the best detectives in the city. His skill is legendary. I know that Crime Beat could do other stories of the many cases he was involved with and solved. Crime Beat, you guys do such a good job producing these shows.

Ayyyeee crime beat, I like the podcast but I prefer this hands down. Tragic story. RIP tina. and as always, our justice system can piss off
as a young girl in the late 90's / 2000's, girls stopped sleeping in basement bedrooms because so man were snatched or killed by intruders who got in via the basement window. scary stuff
I live on a first floor but I never open my blinds completely to many crazy mentally unstable people around
I would never live in a ground floor apartment, it's not safe at all
What a monster. Took out his resentment towards his wife. Jeffrey Chang is such a kind, handsome man.
So what kind of crimes get life in Canada.....these sentences are so offensive to the victims families......😒
I’m wondering thé same I watch an other documentary a guy killed 8 people one of the worst serial killers in Canada and he got 25yrs prison time
AGREED
You get more time for drug charges than murder and rape.... makes me sick
This is so heartbreaking the poor sisters and the one who fought hard and lost her fight.
Best true crime channel ever! The documentaries are so well done
RIP Tina Wu and thoughts go out to all the survivors who went through such torment and fear
Her sister saved her life. I cant imagine it’s very sad. And this man is evil and deserved no parole on top of that he is a family man. #smh
That interviewed victim of him came across as so strong and dignified! Huge respect for her.
It's good to hear that the surviving sister has achieved success and family bonds in the aftermath of their violent tragedy.

USA loves ❤️Crime Beat!
“Smoking a great deal of marijuana” was the only identifiable possible cause?? 👁👁 😂💀 Seriously
Anthony thank you for presenting such a sad story.I was brought to tears, how brave the survivor lady has coped with this heinous crime. Bless you, your an inspiration.

He failed as a human being indeed. Total failure 😣😡.

Well tragedy DID strike. What's your issue man?
do not let this guy out. he deserve to rot in jail.
How can they release this man ..... bizarre that the laws of each country are so different . He would have got two life sentences here so 50 yrs minimum , probably do at least half of that before parole would be considered. Sick dude ....glad one of the sisters survived .

This police officer ,, is a really good ,kind hearted MAN , YOU CAN SEE HIS EYES WATERING UP AS HE SPOKE . They’ll get the person or persons .

Our justice system is so shameful. My sympathy to all the victims.
The Canadian justice system is a freaking joke
I like you Antony Robart you are a well conducted and lovely reporter!

Get real defense lawyer heart check very pathetic. How about remorse for the victims and their families.

Stop protecting predators!!! Tell us where the pos lives so people around him know to be cautious!
Would not consider toronto a safe place at all. Quite opposite. Fellow canadian here.
Those basement apartments are so unsafe.
A real chameleon turns into anything you want so he can get what he wants he’s pure evil
These type of attackers are cowards.
those neighbours are something else! (first survivor) thank goodness one of the neighbour was actually helpful.
U have got to be kidding a healing lodge for the murderer what a bunch of BS.... They need to keep a big eyes on this guy.😡
Yes. I've been looking for something to watch tha I haven't seen already. I love Saturday night true crime. Thanks for the upload. This is so sad. What a monster!
Don't abandon the women in your lives and love/protect them at all costs.
He wasn't sorry for what he did. He was sorry because he got caught. If he was sorry he'd go to therapy to deal with his urges, not to assault and kill
Another crime beat episode. Thank you for sharing ♥ ♥ ♥. Can't wait for another video. Best crime videos ever.

20 years for killing a kid, shame on the Canadian Justice system
WTF? Indigenous Guyanese gets to go into a healing lodge? What a ridiculous reach.
That healing lodge nonsense is an affront to all the victims. That has to go!
Amazing thank you I love crime beat channel
This is horrific. I hope they keep this monster under full surveillance.
Thank you Crime beat
SENDING LOVE, STRENGTH, PEACE, AND HAPPINESS YOUR WAY! STAY BLESSED AND KNOW YOU ARE NOT ALONE 🙏
So so sorry, Daddy and Mama......so sad.....so VERY sad.....God bless u w peace as u recover from this terrible loss...🥺😔😥

You absolutely cannot blame marijuana for that kind of behavior. And that is scientifically proven. Alcohol, yes, but not marijuana.
Broke into 2 innocent young women's home, girls really, and tried to kill them both, would have succeeded if one hadn't made a desperate call, and we're supposed to believe he's remorseful. Yeah, sorry he got caught. All women should now be on absolute alert, particularly Asian women.

What idiot came up with this idea?🤦🏾♀️
As for myself, an apartment, top floor!
I like to see them try.. 😁
We've got murder, attempted murder, rape, attempted rape, and breaking and entering (not to mention premeditation). Love DNA...those poor people..
I recall this Case it was Sickening.💙
