- Susan Tedeschi performs "Rock Me Right" at the Farm Aid concert in Bristow, Virginia on September 12, 1999.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

This is the year that Derek Trucks met Susan Tedeschi. I can see how he fell in love with her. Very Pretty lady with great voice, Guitar playing and great song writer.
SUMMER 1999, I was workin' for a small independent radio station out in Modesto, California. The job didn't pay worth a damn, but I could get free tickets and or All Access Passes to see just about any artist that came to the Central Valley. My wife and I was first row, front and center when Susan opened for Buddy and B.B. @ the Stan State Amphitheater in Turlock. I had heard of her but hadn't heard any of her music till that day. That Green Telecaster she was sporting should have been my first clue... lol. Needless to say she "Rocked It Right" her entire set. Then Buddy Guy invited Susan back out on stage towards the end of his show. Buddy had her playin' his black and white polkadot Stratocaster, and no jokin' round, Susan got down! What a great concert that was... I sure miss the 90s!!!

I saw her in Denver in 1999. Flew to Jacksonville 2019 to watch the Tedeschi Trucks band. Both concerts were kick ass, but i certainly miss the rawness of Susan's voice, and her awesome 🎸 skills❤

Susan is 49 today.KFOG radio out of SF played this song around the time it came out-bought the CD the same day-now,with Derek Trucks, they carry the mantle of Derek and the Dominos,Leon Russel,Joe Cocker,Delany and Bonnie and other great bands.Derek found a keeper!!!!And her playing a Tele just puts icing on the cake!!She had that guitar on her album Just Won't Burn.The whole band is great but that bass player takes it to another level.
I first saw Susan Tedeschi back in the '90's when she opened for Jonny Lang. Walking into the venue I noticed a stand set up selling Susan's CD's. At the time, I figured she was just another local so so performer and doubted she would sell many CD's. Needless to say, as soon as she finished her set I ran right to that stand and purchased a CD. I have been a huge fan ever since.

Got to work her and Derrick last summer. Great time, great folks ants super nice. Their summer tout had 60 folks. All friends, family and kids! And they played with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, opened with Doyle Bramhill.

Killer performance on the part of every band member.
Saw her the same year this came out in '99 at the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival in Davenport, Iowa. She rocked it then, too. Relatively unknown, she was the crowd favorite. Can't even remember who else played but remember her hot, hard driving vocal on this song. Saw her again in 2003 at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA and met her briefly. What a talented and sexy woman!

Susan Tedeschi has a wonderful voice especially for blues and blues/rock and shes no slouch as a guitar player either, she is so much more than just Derek Truck's wife
