Ya know, the coach got a LOT of heat internationally for taking the team that deep into the cave. But from what we'd read & heard, the team planned to go anyway & he went to be with them to make sure an adult was there. I completely share your thoughts on this. I can't imagine what would've happened had those boys not had him there. He's lightyears ahead of the level of maturity that most people reach in their lifetimes. Just wanted to ask if you were welcomed by the locals? Considering the fact that a tragedy did take place over there, so is it appropriate to visit it as a tourist site? I am asking this question because I am pretty much intrigued to visit the cave. P.S: Beautifully executed, the video encapsulates the respect you have for this whole place.
From what we understand locals and tourists were going to the cave before the accident since it was in the National park and a site for prayer. We spoke to several groups that had been there many times before the accident. It is a beautiful cave and there are more caves in the area to explore other than just the one. The people have done a great job for creating a memorial of the lives lost while also educating visitors about the importance of cave and diving safety. Definitely recommend going if you are in the area. Thanks for watching!
Your videos are so nice and also very informative. By the way, the stalagtite you showed is actually not called a stalagmite, it is the oposite, stalagmites point up and stalagtites point down. I did some speleology in my younger days. Love y'all.
Thank you so much Eddy! I feel like I must be the only one that never got taught the difference between the two when I was in school growing up. I had multiple people reach out to me afterwards to tell me the difference🤣 Thank you so much for supporting us!!!❤️
An easy way to distinguish between the two is: Stalag/has a rounded sound. (gh), so just imagine water bubbling up from the floor. It's going to have a rounded top. Now, a stalagTITE has a sharp sound. An icicle hangs down and is sharp at the bottom. So, if it's hanging from above...

They got caught out which is a simple fact. It was an annual tradition to go into the cave to welcome new members to the team. They were also celebrating one of the boys birthday.
