I have lived in Thailand for 27 years and speak, read and write Thai fluently and this movie was so accurate with the Thai culture and even the boys and parents speaking with Northern Thai dialects. I was in the cave totally engrossed and moved by this excellent movie.
In my Opinion this is the best "Based on true Events" Film that has so far been created. I felt Like I was in that Cave. I was nervous, anxious and all of that. Everybody who worked on this Film has done an incredible Job and I Hope Something Like this never Happens again. My biggest Respect.
I just finished watching the movie. It was incredible. Ron and the actors did an amazing job or recreating the events. I'm still amazed at how they got the team and coach out in real life. Amazing.
I couldn't agree more. Usually my expectation is lukewarm towards events already happened, especially after watching the documentary, but this film kept me on edge through out the entire time. I love how it delivered the tensions and pressure from all characters - divers, team, coach, parents, officials even farmers, something couldn't fully deliver in documentary. Through out the movie I saw no unnecessary drama or political blockage, everyone just keeping a direct approach rescuing the kids. I specially love how the two governor was like "Do what you can. I'll take all responsibility."
Although the viewing experience is very good, there are subtle details that make the rescue look not as hard as the real environment. Especially the underwater scenes are mostly too clear compared to the actual environment. I suspect when the rain pours into the cave the water will become very muddy so it would be hard to see things underwater. The film "The Cave" resembles that feeling although the storytelling in that film is pretty weak. Diver Rick Stanton also pointed out that the cave was full of muddy water and they had zero visibility underwater. But I also understand this change is for the viewer's experience, otherwise they can only see muddy water on the screen and have no idea what is happening in the cave.
As t was said with Ron is all the little details in the movie. He showed the unsung heroes that you don't really see, As the Farmers who let their fields be destroyed, the villagers who helped keep the caves from flooding more by working on the drainage pipes The people who came up with the idea of how to drain the cave, the people who feed everyone. Everyone one was a hero in this in some way. Ron just showed us everyone that was there and again all the little details that you never saw
There are very few good movies nowadays. Ron Howard once again showed how to make a masterpiece! Great job and amazing tribute to all the great men who took part in this rescue.
It was so realistic, I was just grateful i knew the full story. I couldn't have done 2.5 hrs waiting to see if the kids made it out alive. Great film. I just can't believe these divers aren't more well known. They are true heros and should be stars in their own right . Well done Ron Howard and all the actors for telling this story so well.
Brilliant movie, great actors and film team, director etc. The best thing for me was the fact we got to see how the Thai people worked together behind the scenes diverting millions of gallons of water to try to give the rescuers a chance, I didn’t know that, I am in awe of the farmers sacrifice too.
After watching this I give mad props to the rescue divers!! I am Closter phobic & cant imagine diving in the caves and having to dive anywhere from 5-7 hours each way is courageous! And then having to do it with 13 kids & coach sedated for that length of time. It kept my wife and I on the edge of our seats! Great job to cast and crew! And again mad props to the real heroes and also to the kids and coach for surviving till they were rescued.
I love how they kept a clear geographical progress for the audiences through out the movie, details such as time-lapses not only show how much trouble the divers went through, but also the experience. You could see the length of a 5 hour dive by the cave-divers took Navy Seal 7 hours, putting the Seals at more risk at burning oxygen.
Excellent Portrayal of the Events which unfolded. The Cave Dive scenes had me Terrified for them and Praying for the Best Outcome, even though we knew it before hand. Authentic, Heart Wrenching and Accelerating.
This firm is so realistic, specially the drowning scene. Once I was diving in Puerto Rico at a depth of 120 feet when I ran out of air. Desperately I started to ascent but I realized that I was not going to make it to the surface alive. I got lucky that I found the bubbles of one of the divers that was about 50 feet from me and with all the strength I had, I swam trying to squeeze the last ounce of air in the tank. The sound of the air left was like a whistle, just like in the scene. It gives me goose bumps just to listen that sound. Ron Howard did it again!
Kudos to all involved. As a former Caver, Diver and Firefighter of many years, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this movie was. I had just watched the Doc 'The Rescue' and the movie complimented the documentary well, the dramatisation of the movie actually helped, convey the reality of panic and fear underwater.
It was really nice to finally have some representation for cave diving. Until now all we really had was Sanctum and The Cave. What I was worried about was that this movie would be sensationalist and put in a lot of dangers to the divers that never actually happened but instead it stuck to the events as they happened which I appreciated
Beautifully portrayed the whole event. I followed the incident which happened in2018, and Ron made me glued to my chair till the end of the movie. Great Job by the whole team....
I find this movie so scary watching those big guys navigating through underwater narrow passages, let alone taking extra inexperienced soul to safety. I couldn't breathe... with all those suspense... This story will go down to an epic history. I love the portrayals of every one who is involved in this movie. Humanity stood out and won the admiration of the world!
Hurray for typical good old Aussie humour - Dr Harris telling each kid "See that man over there? He's the number one diver in the world" had hubby & I laughing each time between all the tense, nerve-wracking moments. 😅
Guys, what a great job - I love this movie and have already watched it like three times and it has not yet lost its luster or excitement and still draws my attention through each scene. Love the cast - everyone and I mean everyone did such a fantastic job. Ron Howard, you never disappoint - you are definitely one of the greats of our time. So entertaining, so very enjoyable and so thankful for the true outcome.
Ron Howard once against delivers a MASTERPIECE you know the outcome but it still doesn't tell you the whole story this movie told the whole story and then some.
I spent 3 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in a small village called Mae Pao in Chiang Rai provence. This movie was so realistic in terms of the language, culture, mannerisms, location, food, sleeping rooms, reverance towards local Buddist monks, even the sentence structure and cadence of the English language when spoken by the Thai people, that I was transported back in time and became a part of it all. Thank you
I am still watching film as I found the tension even though I know the outcome unbearable. I am reading Jon Volanthan book 13 lives on strength of movie and gives 13 life lessons and ordered Rick Stanton books. These people and the coach & Boyz are just true heroes. I in awe of cave diving like RNLI who does this life saving work as volunteers. These " ain't regular guyz " they are super heroes. Hope this film wins lots of awards.
loved the film. wouldve loved to see more of the boys ordeal in the cave however i understand this film was more about the rescue efforts than the boys themselves
Saw the movie last week...amazing....everyone involved was essential to the storytelling...Ron Howard--GOAT! What Colin Farrell had to say was gold. Master class right there. The experience of watching was intense. People in the theater, myself included, were gasping. I was sitting on the edge of my seat; some of the scenes were so uncomfortable when they were underwater I literally had to tell myself it's just a movie it's just a movie but yet I realize that it really happened and then the recreation there were obstacles as well. I don't know where I was or what I was doing but I never heard anything about this story. The kids in their coach were very brave that's where all the people involved in the rescue. To put the retelling of the story in Ron Howard sounds was nothing short of brilliant.
A director's work comes full circle with 13 Lives! The hard work, The Peak... followed by the lows & struggles... and now Back on Top! Good job Ron Howard! Carpe Diem.
Everyone involved in this was amazing. Even though I was aware of the situation….this gave me such a different and respect for everyone involved! It was amazing. Thank you to all! I cried then and cried even more this time…just understanding more of the details! Thank you
I'm not sure how those cave divers manage to squeeze through such small gaps when they have balls that need transporting in a wheel barrow. Massive props to them 👏🏼💪🏼
4years ago na pala nangyari to diko na natandaan .. ngayon napanuod ko tong movie na to grabe napap jusko lord talaga ko . Para yun talaga ang ganap ng araw na yan ganda ng pagkaka gawa ng movie totoong.totoo👍
Truly such an incredible story. So inspiring and powerful. It's a miracle so many of them made it out alive. My heart goes out to those who didn't. Very gripping movie, you truly felt like you were there experiencing it all with them. One of the best movies I've seen in awhile.
Great film/movie! As Colin said, it is about the innocence of the kids & the world coming together. Very well done. Seeing all that went on to do this rescue adds to the appreciation of the real life events.
Doggone it, Ron, that rescue was INTENSE! I guess we are lucky we didn't have to travel the whole 6 hours with each boy. You are a master of movie making!
Hats down to Ron Howard! He told the story beautifully in every aspect. I live in Thailand and I lived through everyday of this event then. I've seen documentaries on this & watched the movie with skepticism. But I ended up so touched by the movie. Though I know what the end is like, the suspense still got me glued to my seat. A standing ovation to everyone in this movie! This is a must see movie!
At the edge of my seat from the very beginning to the very end. Great job Ron and all the actors who played the roles of real people. And the young actors who played the real people of witch this movie is made. Must see movie
The best movie based on a real story for me, hats off for every person that contributed to make this masterpiece 👌 I didn't know the end of the story so I was frightened and I thought half of them at least will die. The rescue team are real heroes I am really so amazed every single time I think about how they did it. Thanks for telling such an amazing story like this 👏
This looks so good. I saw the documentary about the rescue on Disney+ National Geographic, which is also excellent. There was so much going on that I didn't know, despite watching it unfold on the news. Looking forward to watching this as well.
Very fantastic movie to tell its smart reacue how to bring all footballers out of the cave, I was amazed how you can this movie communicate realisticly as I followed this news in Thailand at that times and this movie told all true as Thai media reported 4 yrs ago.
Even thought it was not an action movie I was really scared and anxious watching the movie it’s so interesting and intense how the story takes on and what they do and all the problems and jsut life changing to the kids, it’s an amazing story I would watch it again.
i just watched movie n the way movie shoot it feel we are there in cave n underwater scene is so thrilled i can't imagine how the real rescue do that ... hats up those who did this rescue in real .....we all heard about this rescue in news but never expected this high level ofdangerious situation was there....
Great movie, one thing I found it did even without mentioning it was how incredibly idiotic Elon Musk's idea of a "mini-sub" was, now the guy was trying what he could but the fact he was unable to listen to experts who told him it wouldn't work and then continue to push his idea regardless shows the arrogance of the man. Should make the water more muddy for some of the scene to make it real. the part of many climber look for the mountain shaft will be great too if there is some little landslide accident
My one complaint is that they deleted the Air Force Pararescue Divers. They made the evacuation look like a Brit only operation when it was a relay. The Brits had the first third, the Thai SEALS and Us PJ’s had the rest.’ Also, it was a PJ that did the mask test and trial run with a boy in a local pool
I have lived in Thailand for 27 years and speak, read and write Thai fluently and this movie was so accurate with the Thai culture and even the boys and parents speaking with Northern Thai dialects. I was in the cave totally engrossed and moved by this excellent movie.

there wasn't any "unnecessary drama" unlike what happens in a lot of other "based on true events" stories.

This movie is so good. The minimal CGI contributed a lot

I, too, have claustrophobia and I barely made it through 127 Hours. I hope to see this.
Excellent Portrayal of the Events which unfolded. The Cave Dive scenes had me Terrified for them and Praying for the Best Outcome, even though we knew it before hand. Authentic, Heart Wrenching and Accelerating.
Same

My nervous system was in knots through most of the film. Hats off to all involved!
Ron has hit another home run with this movie! Congratulations!!
Kudos to all involved. As a former Caver, Diver and Firefighter of many years, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this movie was. Great movie... great actors that did their part perfectly... They made this miracle rescue look real. Great job everybody.
Ron Howard should get a directing Oscar. This movie is amazing. I was on the edge of my seat and I knew the outcome!
Just watched the movie, and this was enjoyable to watch. I didn't mind that this was a 2hr movie. Every moment was gripping.
I know the actors were truly frightened by swimming parts. Know this you knocked it out of the park. You really honored the story.
Hurray for typical good old Aussie humour - Dr Harris telling each kid "See that man over there? He's the number one diver in the world" had hubby & I laughing each time between all the tense, nerve-wracking moments. 😅

Great job! I 'm a Thai-International actress who love the story you make for a great movie. I 'm excited to watch it soon. ❤
There is nothing like community love and devotion. Awesome film...
Watched it last night. Even though you know how it turns out, it was still gripping. Well done, again, Ron Howard.
As a diver caves scare the bejesus out of me, so hats off to the cast for doing their own underwater stunts.
Ron Howard once against delivers a MASTERPIECE you know the outcome but it still doesn't tell you the whole story this movie told the whole story and then some.
Wow, just wow.
Everyone involved just stunning!
Those boys are the heroes of this story.
Just got done with the movie and I can’t help but more admiration to all the rescuers especially the divers.

Absolute incredible film and has climb the ranks fast in my all time list. God damn this is the side of us we need more of.
loved the film. wouldve loved to see more of the boys ordeal in the cave however i understand this film was more about the rescue efforts than the boys themselves

Best of the best
I love Ron Howard movies...always worth the time invested.
Fantastic movie, watched it several times.

I did spelunking throughout Indiana in my 20's and later in life became a certified diver. I cannot imagine mixing the two at all.
Absolutely amazing movie, deserves Oscar awards!
One of my favorite movies of 2022 so far... I just cant stop thinking about it
Truly such an incredible story. So inspiring and powerful. It's a miracle so many of them made it out alive. My heart goes out to those who didn't. Very gripping movie, you truly felt like you were there experiencing it all with them. One of the best movies I've seen in awhile.
One of the best films I have ever seen. Beautiful
Virgo Mortensen is one of my favorite actor specially when he played the role of a father "Captain Fantastic".
Great film/movie! As Colin said, it is about the innocence of the kids & the world coming together. Very well done. Seeing all that went on to do this rescue adds to the appreciation of the real life events.

Hands down, the best movie of 2022
Awesome job by the whole cast. Really impressive film 🙏

Fantastic movie! True story... actors did a great job!
One of the only films to end with a happy ending but when the credits hit I just and to cry just trying to grasp what had transpired
Its a super duper fantastically terrific movie.
Fabulous film that was able to inject so much tension even though the outcome was known.
One of the first cave rescue movie i've watched and best as well
I watched the documentary before this movie and this film couldn't be more real than the real events themselves.
amazing movie, must watch!
I watched "The rescue" documentary after this movie
and I surprised all the intense moments are really happen in real event, not made up drama
Even thought it was not an action movie I was really scared and anxious watching the movie it’s so interesting and intense how the story takes on and what they do and all the problems and jsut life changing to the kids, it’s an amazing story I would watch it again.
Great film!

Amazing movie. I watch 3 x. Best movie of 2022
Great movie, one thing I found it did even without mentioning it was how incredibly idiotic Elon Musk's idea of a "mini-sub" was, now the guy was trying what he could but the fact he was unable to listen to experts who told him it wouldn't work and then continue to push his idea regardless shows the arrogance of the man. Also while I was waiting for a film mention, I'm glad he wasn't mentioned at all in the movie as his name really should have zero relation to the events of this rescue.
Totally agree. I remember he was angry when the governor said no to him, he tweeted and let the world knows. What a narcissist!
And ended up smearing one of the team and getting away with it. I like musk but this wasn't his finest hour.
and then called Vern Unsworth a pedo....
without his maps of the cave...the rescue mission would have taken longer....
It’s ironic this was an idea by musk because it did occur to me why didn’t they just get a boat and paddle them out but I guess it was too narrow.
@@Nazaba09 That and the cave system was completely underwater. Boats aren't super useful at paddling underwater.
ITS AN OSCAR WINNER FOR CERTAIN......EXCEPTIONAL FILM
Incredible film...Ron, you nailed it as always 🙏
By far my numbre one favorite new movie! Loved it 😍
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! 100/100
I know the news but I don’t know whole story, glad I don’t know and I watched tonight it tonight . I’m so amazed
Fantastic movie.
If you want to see a really great Australian film with similar cave diving action , watch the movie "SANCTUM" !
I loved this movie and highly recommend.
I'm love this movie very much because is reality same like true resuce story .👍
Should make the water more muddy for some of the scene to make it real. the part of many climber look for the mountain shaft will be great too if there is some little landslide accident
ce film est excellent. bravo
I enjoyed the movie is amazing lapho I didn't even known the real story behind the movie
Excellent job all around
I think Viggo is the coolest man in the world!
Colin, honest as ever! Brilliant. Not of that Star Sh*t with him.
If this movie wins all they movie awards then it will be a bonus
Good to see Colin Farrell is a cat dad
this felt really like a documentary.
ผมรู้สึกว่าคุณใส่ใจในเนื้อหาเรื่องนี้มาก และพยายามเข้าใจเรื่องราวที่แท้จริง เราจะติดตามคุณ
Excellent movie
Best movie i have ever seen
Where is the movie?!?!
แค่ยกเชียงรายไปที่ออสเตรเลีย
ก็สุดยอดแล้วน่าทึ่ง👍👍
รอดูเลยครับ...
ไม่ต้องรอครับ ดูได้แล้ว ใน prime video
So this part 2 of Apollo 13...cause it's 13 again in the title. Ron Howard got a total of 26 now
My one complaint is that they deleted the Air Force Pararescue Divers. They made the evacuation look like a Brit only operation when it was a relay. The Brits had the first third, the Thai SEALS and Us PJ’s had the rest.’
Also, it was a PJ that did the mask test and trial run with a boy in a local pool
You need to watch The Rescue the real divers tell the whole story and who did what when.
Very enjoyable movie.
tremenda pelicula de lo mejor del 2022
Outstanding movie
There second version of the cave rescue movies watch out for it
