  • Chapter 2 explores the topic of operator rotations, if not micromanagement. Rather than to name the hour shifts or to dictate how you rotate, I'll teach you how to understand the concept of rotations for you to best choose what to do.

    That's the video I've been searching for so long. People always talk about best combos and ‘base game changing operators’ but somehow the concepts about what to do, when those operators are recovering is seemingly never mentioned anywhere. Especially early switching and staggering sounds like easy concepts in retrospect but doesn't come to mind intuitively.
    Probably will still stay in the ‘taking appropriate operators but neglect actual combos’ group because niche-y account and not gonna E1 or E2 for base only - but just knowing what is possible is a huge help. Thank you!

    For more casual & new players, I advise just to know what "staggering" is. HOWEVER, know that you can still play the game just fine without it.
    Why, I'm saying this? Because staggering is kinda tiring, and makes you feel burned out more easily, depending on the case.
    The increase from staggering is okayish, but nothing for the player need to feel stressed at.
    If you are playing AK, hopefully you'll stay for a long time, which is why, comfortable gameplay should be your priority.
    Kukki's explanation in this video and the previous one might be daunting, but just know that base management IS ACTUALLY EASY once you dip into it.
    And
    There are in-depth arguments for min-maxing AK's base, which is nice, but the game is lenient enough that even the casual (but-running) base can enjoy the game and upgrading operators just fine.

      I leave that for people to intuitively understand that, as long as you understand numbers are to be kept high, you would figure that certain 3-operator combos are hard-linked and shouldn't be cracked open.

      Yea, especially when they would drain 0.65 morale per hours (assuming that you have 5 operators in the command center) that would mean they would last a little over 36 hours with full morale.
      Adding the fact that Fiammetta only need 12 hours to fully charge her morale, it make it easy to rotate Shamare and Bibeak every so often just to keep at least one of their skill ramped up.

    • @Draggyrider
      @Draggyrider 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@kukkikaze I think you should mention that especially for veteran players who have a lot of 3 operator combos, you can stagger the whole team instead of a single operator. E.g for 2 trading posts, you only need 3 good combos (instead of 4) where each team works for 24hrs and you rotate one team every 12 hours. Since you are checking in twice a day anyway, this lines up nicely for staggering without too much micromanaging.

  • @lushowski

    Kukki, great video, but maybe you should add an explanation about how productivity really reflexes on production, because some people tends to confuse productivity with time reduction, like in the case of the Training Room, and that's a concept people think also applies in the other facilities, but it doesn't really work like that. Keep the good work!

    Tbh, most of the stuff is pretty self explanatory for me, but what makes me stumble is understanding weird stuff like Rosmontis, and no, it is not easy to see how much she does, because there are so many different operators in different parts of the base that add to that, that I gave up after a while.

    • @SuzakuBlitz
      @SuzakuBlitz 9 месяцев назад

      Rosmontis and Mr. Nothing are both operators that do require a lot of operators to make work. There is a Google Spreadsheet that is out there that does indicate each part of the combination and how they interface, which may be worth looking into if you want to deep dive further

    • @tempota7792
      @tempota7792 8 месяцев назад

      PeterYR has videos that explain almost all the convoluted combos, including Rosmontis's.
      The basic gist is, Rosmontis needs E2 Whisperain, Iris, and someone (forgot) to be worth it, right? And nobody would E2 WR or Iris just for the base (they take like a year to ROI), so basically, just forget about Rosmontis, unless she or her supports are your waifus.

    For an endgame account like mine there are very few facilities that don't have two equally good shifts. I just swap my entire base every 24 hours and there is never more than about a 5% difference in productivity. Also, a 32 hour rotation of two shifts means you will end up with shift changes in the middle of the night. Like, change shift at 12 noon, then 8pm, then 8pm the next day, then 4AM! Then 4AM AGAIN! Nah, I'm good. It's a fun game but my entire life is not going to revolve around it.

  • @ian59
    @ian59 9 месяцев назад +2

    1 concept that I would add for people trying to determine their own rotations that don't have a degree in astro physics or want to build excel spreadsheets is Ratio Equality.
    The core idea for this concept is that for your 1st best group the thing that determines efficiency of production is not how much morale they have when you take them out of the trading post or factory but how long they sit in the dorm with max morale. So there's nothing wrong with swapping out your best group when they're not low on morale, say they're at 50% morale. However, the longer they sit in the dorm with max morale the more efficiency you lose.
    So how to apply this to thinking about your rotation is to understand that if I have a 1st best group that can work a maximum of 36 hours and then recover their morale in 6 hours and I am going to express that as 36/6 then:
    36/6 = 30/5 = 24/4 = 18/3 = 12/2 = 6/1
    The reason this can be valuable is in case the 36/6 requires you getting up at like 4 am to swap operators you can use a different equivalent ratio that fits your schedule better and you won't lose any efficiency of productivity. In general most people want to swap their operators less so you would usually choose something from the left end of this spectrum but in some cases the 30/5 might fit your schedule better than the 36/6 would.
    There are about 12 operators in the game that are an exception to this, examples include: Scene, Bibeak, Kafka, Ceobe, or any operator that doesn't reach their peak production until they've worked for 5 hours. For these types of operators you want to leave them in their respective work zone as long as possible to optimize their productivity.

      If you want the answer now, the shamare bibeak tequila combo takes 2 year to pay back. Proviso needs 7 month. Every other 5* is not worth to E2 for base only as they payback time is so long that the arknights server may close long before they pay back, just choose them if you also are going to play them or if have spare resources.

      For someone who not always E2 any operator, E2 a base operator that give you best combo or able to work long is always worth. Especially if its add more storage. Since i only login AK like twice a day and the usually comp storage is too low that usually max up like 8-10 hours so thay 90% speed is useless if your max on production

    While you did touch upon recovery that affects all in dorm, i hope you include people who adds recovery to single unit as well (Shining/Honeyberry/Saileach/Lancet 2 are who i use)
    Personally i have 1 all-recovery and 1 single-recovery, just so i maximize recovery for 1 unit. But this is really for people who log in more than 2 times (I do it on average 4 times - cycle every 6 hours)
    I also set an order of importance (ie people who give better efficiencies - ie Feater with 35% - would always be the ones that enjoy max recovery), and for every one that gives baseline (30%) i would just put into dorms as long as there's a replacement
    Obviously this only works if you're willing to invest into E2-ing units for base exclusively , which i've done solely to increase the number of choices i have on hand (Proviso, Bubble & Vulcan, Waai Fu, Mayer)
    For info: I run a 252 with right side max (came from a 243), with 1 T2 trade and 1 T3 trade (I invested in a Proviso combo hence this is efficient for me - don't do this otherwise), and 3 T2 Factories (EXP) and 2 T3 Factories (Gold)

      4 stars and 3 stars only need E1 for their second skill. Frostleaf, Purestream, Vermeil, Bubble, are small example of operators with good second base skill.
      As for 5 stars and 6 stars, many of them do need their E2 for their skill. But, E2 them simply for their base skill is really not recommended unless it's Proviso or you're planning to use them a lot.

      Proviso, Shamare, Gnosis, Młynar, Ling, Mulberry, Rosmontis, Morgan, Delphine, Gladiia, etc. all need to be E2 since the important skill for their combo that is their second skill (if you're interested).
      Operators like Tequila, Pozy, Tuye, Mizuki, Highmore, Chongyue, MonHun gang, Rhine Lab factory crew, etc. can be E0 for the base, but gets better at E2.
      Meanwhile Dusk apparently doesn't have base skills that scale by promotion, so she can be left at E0

      Other than the pointers mentioned by others, the easy way is to look at the left panel as you assign operators into the facilities.
      That panel will show you the state, time remaining and base skills.
      If there is a new skill to unlock or upgraded upon promotion, then that panel will show that to you
      eg - at 6:18, you can see that Kukki's Frost second skill is locked, with the panel stating that to unlock it you need her to be at e2.
      Another one, at 1:53, Kukki's Wildmane skill has this double arrow on the right corner of the textbox. When you click/tap on it, it should say "upgrade at e2" or something along that line.
      ** these 2 examples require e2 just cause they are 5* ops, as pointed out by the rest.
      hope this helps

    I like the idea of the base and base skills
    but having a standard 2 4 3 and leaving it already feels comfortable enough for me
    You have to "have a "best combo" and "second best combo" for 1 facility" is the crucial part
    You have 4, 4 facilities (more or less) which means you need to have like 3 x 4 = 12 ops who have a good mentioning base skill to changing
    the changing things already tired enough, you have to check on every op's skills and then check on combos,... and then you realize that you don't have this or that ops. And you think that is it? NO! You have that OP but didn't build them.
    It also notes that it is not worth e2 an op for their base skill as they cost much more materials than they could have gained for you. Not to mention that it also tired to maintain the daily basis of swapping op with all the things happing in life too.
    For a mobile gacha game that comes in the long run. I think you should have just ignored all the base concept that is too complicated and felt happy to play it every now and then, more than try hard with it and stop playing the game for like a year or smth. The gameplay itself is already stressful enough

    • @dindapriska
      @dindapriska 9 месяцев назад +2

      Honestly, you don't really need to have complicated combos to make the base functional. Those combos are mainly just QoL updates that'll help you gain more resources. You can make by with whatever base skills you have, just make sure you don't make silly decision like putting gold workers to a factory that generates EXP and vice versa.
