So even in the HD console versions, the pocket edition character models have no mouth movement whatsoever. I'm just... perplexed by this art direction.
I might have considered getting the game if they had done that. MIGHT have. But that's such a lame decision that sucks out the life of a game that has already had the life sucked out of it. Oh well. My brother has a PS4 and a copy of FFXV. If I really wanted to play it, I would have done so by now and I can in the future. I don't need some half-baked port of an inferior version of the game on my Switch.

The FF games I enjoyed the most were the DS remakes of the early games - keeping the adorable simplistic look of earlier times, while adding in 3D and incredibly lively and expressive models. I was so hyped for Pocket Edition until I saw that they have ZERO facial expressions. No mouths, permanently angry eyebrows, that's it. How does a 10+ year old handheld game look 100 × better than something developed nowadays?! I had hope that they just wanted to not overload old mobile devices, but this port just ruined all hope.

Like, we know Switch can't run FFXV.... because of how much of a mess Luminous is, PS4 can barely run it for what it is actually doing. SE said that an Unreal port would have been promising, the issue is that this game is directed by Tabata, so even if it was possible, we weren't getting an actual Switch version. But no matter how much you hate Switch, its pretty obvious this is doing the opposite of pushing it.
I'm so happy that Square insists on going back and fixing all the issues with this game to make it live up to its full potential. I can't wait for a fleshed out world, with tons of lore, and tons of unique and interesting side quests. While all of the characters were shallow as puddles at launch, I'm sure every character will be fully fleshed out and have layers upon layers of complexities and nuances to their motivations and actions. I have a few questions. This game was originally designed for tablets and phones, and touching was the primary input. It was also released on PC (via the Microsoft Store), and it too only works by clicking. I'm assuming they added controller support for this game, so will Square update the PC version to include controller support as well? I'm sure they forgot the PC version even existed, not too surprising.
It’s hilarious seeing all these Switch owners being shocked that the switch can’t handle current gen games just because Bethesda barely got DOOM and Wolfenstein on it, and those two games don’t even make 720p 30fps. I don’t know what Nintendo is gonna do in a few years when next gen rolls around, they’re going to have to release a more powerful and expensive switch. The tradeoff for portability is lower specs at higher prices.
I have the game on PC already but I'll get this version for the switch since it's an interesting alternative. I'm assuming the touch controls are gone now so I can actually enjoy playing this version of the game with proper controls. It's always fun to experiment, I can admire that.

Given that the dev teams behind XV get bashed for every decision they make, or are ordered to make, it's better safe than sorry to port this to all consoles. They recently launched a new gameplay mechanic on PC (avatars over Noctis's image), and people with console versions went absolutely ballistic that it wasn't made available for consoles, too, like the adult children they are. This just helps them not have to hear that sort of bitching again.

Will it be exactly like the original Game or will it have the content that could be made before?

Looks cute, but I'd rather play the regular version on my PC than buy this on Switch. Square could've tried a bit harder with the port.

People who are upset that the Switch isn't getting the regular version must be Switch Fanboys. Not every game can run on the Switch. You can't just say that they should just downscale the graphics and stuff and be done. No, porting a huge game takes a long time to develop.
And I don't get the hate for Pocket Edition either. Bunch of "LOL Mobile Game" idiots who doesn't understand that this game is exactly the same as the original version with a few less missions and chibi sttle graphics.
I am glad we are getting Pocket Edition for the Switch. If it was the original version, there is no way in hell I am purchasing a half-assed physical copy then download the rest of the data to play. Heck you guys should be happy we're getting a main FF game on the Switch.
And I was a serious veteran of final fantasy series until FF13 and FF15
Cute but the people wanting this are probably better off just buying the original game. I feel like they'll get more attached and into it that way. This is just my opinion. Although I bet most people that are in the comment section have already played the original and just want to see how this pocket addition will do. I know I want to see. I can recall A lot of these lines from the other game, sort of touching in a way. Even though the ending wasn't the best to me. I mean, it's the only way to play the game on Switch so it's better than nothing I guess? Hopefully it'll be dirt cheap, otherwise there was literally no point in porting it to PS4/XBO.
