To the final fantasy XV team, Thank you guys for working so hard on this game, even though I'm pretty sure there were some really stressful and hard moments during the development of this game, but you guys really have made a true diamond in the rough. Also, the game is a masterful exploration of what an open world game can be, has a combat system that is infinitely more interesting than the snoozefest that is turn based combat, and manages to implement the same strategic focus the series is known for into real-time mechanics. The game also has a damn good story, in fact, it's one of the better ones in the FF series, it's no FF7 in this regard, but it's still incredible, that is, if you actually paid attention to what was happening in the story and lore of the game, since it is difficult to follow, I'll admit. Ardyn also happens to be one of the best villains I've seen in a game for quite some time. The game also manages to have a really awesome magic system without having it break the game, even the Ring of the Lucii manages to completely live up to its hype while not breaking the game. Even the ability to summon a black hole manages not to be overpowered since it doesn't work on stronger enemies. The DLC also added a lot to this game, and contextualized the story to make it a bit easier to follow, so definitely check it out before coming to a final verdict on the game.
Real talk. Ardyn is an amazing villain and Darin De Paul does an outstanding job voicing him! Also, please Square Enix bring back the cancelled DLCs! I know you're squishing them all into a book but I want to play them!
There is no way they are doing that. This DLC was barely made, and it was made with the intention of being a grand finale. They're not putting the already exhausted dev team onto another couple of DLCs when they most likely have FFXVI already in the initial development stages. They're more likely to move the now available crew over to something like that so they have something big to deliver once the FFVIIR has been out for a while and died down, especially since that'll bring in a lot of new fans that'll be thirsty for whatever could live up to FFVIIR. These huge companies have to think way ahead and constantly deliver for their shareholders to stay relevant. Ain't no one gonna invest in major resources for some DLCs for a game that's already been out for more than 3 years.

It isn't happening and if it did it'd take another couple of years to get them done to a high standard of quality. The development team has put an insane amount of years, sweat and work into XV but it's time for them to move on. Let's enjoy this last DLC to the fullest.
I walked into the finale knowing I would feel happy but more so sad. I enjoyed this episode: it introduced new mechanics, insomnia explorable in a stable state and most importantly a lot of lore. But I know this is the end. I had an incredible time supporting this game for many years and it ended up connecting with me on an emotional level. For that I will I remember this game for eternity and thank everyone who helped make it!

One of the best antagonist ever, a good man that becomes a bad man this is one of the FF characters that deserves his own game. He deserves a more difficult and epic final battle against Noctis and his friends.
Ardyn Lucis has now cemented himself as *one of the greatest Final Fantasy villain* . He might be an even better villain than Sephiroth or Kefka Palazzo. Kefka just became pure evil out of blue while Sephiroth's development as a villain wasn't as good as Ardyn's.
The intense reaction to Kefka stems from the fact that he is one of the few villains in Final Fantasy, or any game, that succeeds at his master plan before he is defeated... similarly to Ardyn
He is a good villain because of his motives. Even in the game. SPOILERS Its hard to tell if he just wanted to plunge the world to everlasting night with the starscourge or if he was just grooming Noctis on the path to finally killing him and ending it all. I mean so many times he could have just outright killed Noctis but he kept helping an pushing him almost as if he wanted Noctis to realize he was the one true king and awaken the power to end it all. His motives were never quite clear even in the end we still had questions that hopefully this dlc answers. To me Sephiroth will always be my favorite because of his connection to cloud. Not so much the writing. With Ardyn though he is definitely one of the most well written villains in the franchise. I also like Ciaus from final fantasy xiii-2 I know those aren't the most popular but I did like his story as well.

The director of the game left Square Enix and the team that worked on ff15 has already started working on new projects so it's not going to happen sadly.
I was very much prepared to be hit with feels throughout this DLC's story, but some moments still caught me off guard. If there's one thing I kept repeating over and over in my head while playing, it was "Poor Ardyn". No doubt, this man has been dealt such a cruel fate. That aside, it is super cool to be playing as Ardyn!

Loved the Ardyn DLC. It really did give more of a back story to him but to bad you can continue with the last few DLCs. I was really looking forward to Aranea and Lunafreya DLCs but oh well. Thank you again! Hope Ardyn joins Dissida Final Fantasy one day!

Kxaria there are Xbox users who play Final Fantasy? i guess they experienced they never experienced the best Final Fantasy games… the fanbase there exists maybe 6-7 years, at PlayStation we have fans who follow Final Fantasy since 1997… but hey i hope everone will enjoy what we played in the past (when some FF classics getting releases on Xbox)

A fantastic final dlc, for a fantastic game. Thank you to those who created final fantasy 15 and all of the teams who have done the dlc. I have really enjoyed this game from the moment of release. Final fantasy 15 went off with a bang with episode ardyn, such a great dlc!

So, that's an anti hero, he intended to do good, but went sideways in the end, his true objective wasn't evil per se, it just converted into it due to the circumstances he lived.
The Chancellor was right, the best was left for last. I absolutely loved the episode, and I thank every single member of the dev team, past and present, from the bottom of my heart for all the joy this game brought me over the last two years. Over the last 13 years, in a way, since I waited for it since the first trailers were revealed way back. It's not over though. I still hold out hope for some improvement to the mod tools, but if not we'll do it ourselves somehow, and keep this universe alive for years to come. Also, to Taskforces Aranea, Noct & Luna: I'm so sorry we never got to see the fruits of your work, but know that you're appreciated nonetheless.
This gave me the context and closure I needed. This is finally a complete game in my heart. This is my favorite Final fantasy game because this dlc made it whole. Everything together is the full game to me. I am thankful the team finished this. This is a true final fantasy game and it deserves the praise for a job well done. Every time I see new content for FFXV I get excited and literal chills. I already know that the story is a broken mess, but if you put everything together and you piece it like a puzzle, you will see that this story is one of the best Final Fantays ever created. There was so much potential...but just as the people in this game were cursed...so was the game.....I want this game to be remade, but with the respect it deserves. They took out so many plot devices they were going to use and changed the whole story around...really, this is the Final Fantasy that everyone wanted, it's just that the execution was piss poor....everything is there for it to be one of the greats....I hope that Square realizes this and remakes this game into what it was supposed to be.

Hi i have a question & its been a long time that i want to ask this i have a final fantasy xv standard the first release before the ffxv royal edition was release i was wondering if i buy the ffxv royal edition can i still continue my save file at my standard to the ffxv royal edition?
How are people getting this episode? I'm in the US and even downloaded the 1.29 (9GB patch) and it's no where to be found?! I also do have the season pass, but if I have to pay for it I will. Seriously why is this just not appearing on the PSN?

Every time I see new content for FFXV I get excited and literal chills. I already know that the story is a broken mess, but if you put everything together and you piece it like a puzzle, you will see that this story is one of the best Final Fantays ever created. There was so much potential...but just as the people in this game were cursed...so was the game.....I want this game to be remade, but with the respect it deserves. They took out so many plot devices they were going to use and changed the whole story around...really, this is the Final Fantasy that everyone wanted, it's just that the execution was piss poor....everything is there for it to be one of the greats....I hope that Square realizes this and remakes this game into what it was supposed to be.

How are people getting this episode? I'm in the US and even downloaded the 1.29 (9GB patch) and it's no where to be found?! I also do have the season pass, but if I have to pay for it I will. Seriously why is this just not appearing on the PSN?
You can find it from the game itself, just go to the game from the PS4 main menu and scroll down within the game and you can find it below together with the dlcs.
