I thought about doing this, but on a smart watch. Can turn boat (etc) if go overboard. Manoeuvre from bow when setting anchor, lines, etc. However, at what point do we stop getting comfortable, less alert, careful, relying on non-redundant electrical.

A channel for your anchor winch. I think you should aim to weigh anchor and set sail without getting out of bed!

I called the Australian Maritime Association about the electrical connections, and they said " Awaygo, That's the way to Go"
Starlink and Alexa voice commands it's endless.

Perfect remote for shallow water steering sitting on the bow. I was to do the exact same thing with my solar powered electric canoe

Yes! In thought inside a reef lagoon a few rungs up on the mast navigating around boomies. Solar powered electric canoe? Awesome 👍

You'll find so many uses for that! My throttles are already wireless, i want to do the same with the steering now specifically for when I'm up front after a storm and the sea is full of debris. My autopilot is an ancient st4000 so no remote for it, my plan is to convert it to a pypilot.

You have to do it with the dinghy. That way you can control the dinghy from the bigger boat.
I'm sure you can imagine some uses for that... I can think of a few off the top of my head.

wagos are good for connectivity, but not waterproof so they wont hold up long term. solder splices are the one to go for, they're rated for aerospace use. we've used them on helis offshore no problem.

Future proofing a boat includes prepping it for sale, boats are always for sale……….at the right price.
