@@3782MC Oh that's good to hear. What was the rake before ? I run the slightest negative rake. Also How did you like those Potenza race tires you had. I am very close to getting a set myself
@@spareroomracing3168 Prior to last October, I was somehow running negative rake with the front sitting 5mm higher than the rear 🤦🏻♂️ This would explain the understeer bias + other weird handling that I never got used to, and is hopefully a thing of the past. I didn’t rate the Potenzas actually, which is why I’ve only run them twice so far. For semi-slicks the cornering grip was pretty average, although braking performance was good as I never managed to lock up the wheels. Oddly, I also get better fuel economy on the Bridgestones over my Continentals…
@@3782MC That sounds about where I run my car ha Front 355mm Rear 352mm center of hub to fender. And yes outright grip would be lower then say a top tier tire like the a052 but should last longer and handle better in the wet. It will be my first semi slick on the gt86 so either way I will get a good bump in performance :)
@@spareroomracing3168 To be honest I’ve been very impressed with the Continentals, which has proven to be a superb all-round tyre. Relative to the Potenza, you lose a small amount of dry cornering grip but the CSC7 works really, really, well in the wet and has also been good on wear. They’re also ~half the price of the Potenzas, but are >80% as good in the dry which makes them the bargain of the century (I genuinely can’t wait to get rid of the Bridgestones 😂)
Nice Lap!
Thanks man! The car handles much better now that the rake angle’s been corrected.
