Jonathan, your way to drive your car is very very impressive. Compliments are our way to thank Misha and people like you for sharing hotlaps like this in Misha's channel. Sometimes are good, but some other times are more than good, like your laps. Push 911 on a little i30n represent many of us i guess!
Hey, listen. Just because you own a Porsche doesn't automatically make you a pro driver. And remember, you don't own the track. So, if a less expensive car comes along and wants to pass, you better move aside and let them go. It's only fair!
@@Secretlyanothername The porsche did a bad job at making his intentions clear tbh. At first i thought he would stay behind the other car because he moved to the middle and all of a sudden he brakes hard. Didnt indicate for the overtake etc.
@@Secretlyanothername Like the others are saying. Porsche moved for the pass and then... didn't pass. He held up traffic to a car that was clearly about to pass him and the Ring Freaks car. Hence why he instantly got over because clearly he noticed them almost go off the track in the mirrors so either he realized cut them off or thought the person behind is reckless and must certainly the one in the wrong.
18:38 That would have been a pretty epic save if using regular controls/pedals but to pull that off with essentially 1 hand on the wheel was really impressive 🙏🏻👏🏻 The idea of having throttle and brake on the same HAND control, and not being able to use both simultaneously is so alien to me I don't think I could ever drive (safely) at speed. Lots of respect for this drivers ability 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I had the pleasure of Jonathan taking me out for a couple of laps in August this year and what a gentleman he is. Blew my mind how quick we went around in his gt4.

My old autocross group had a guy who used a wheelchair. He would strap his legs down and used a clip that held the seatbelt tight. He had the same push pull style throttle/brake control. The guy constantly beat me by a few seconds on 70 second laps.
I absolutely enjoy seeing guys like this. He doesn't let anything get in his way and has fun the way he wants to. This is very uplifting and motivates me. Congrats on the setup, that sounds like a nice solid ride
I think when people comment that Misha rags the cars he drives, they need to watch this video. Very calm and controlled compared to when the owner drives it for a lap.
What a great driver and to be using the hand controls too, the gent is such an inspiration, showing that being disabled doesn't mean you can longer follow your passion for racing. With enough heart and determination you can achieve your dreams
Misha said it's like learning to drive all over again, and he's right... this is WAY more difficult than using your feet. I have an IMMENSE amount of respect for disabled drivers who still strive to enjoy their passion and dont let their disability hinder them. Its is absolutely inspirational ❤
Jonathan is some driver. I had the immense honour of a passenger lap with him in that Hyundai on a very wet Circuit Days Nurburgring track day last October. It was an absolute hoot.

@@edinburghwatchcompany247 hello there sir. Nice car! 💪 Well that might work :P Jokes aside, I myself never thought I'd even notice when I swapped to a LiPo. It's only ~15kg reduction, after all. Then the very first corner out of our drive in, I thought to myself "hey, why does this suddenly turn in so good?", then remembered I had switched the battery :P So, really, you do notice a lot - highly recommended.
Those lightweight automotive lithium batteries are at least as safe as the batteries in your phone or laptop. They have integrated battery management, and some will even “die” at a voltage level that still allows you to press a jumpstart button on the battery. Sort of like a reserve fuel tank. And it prevents the voltage from falling to a dangerous level.
I would not want to challenge this guy to a race he's too good, the car seems well set up and perfect power to almost get into trouble :). It does need aero to make it even more of a weapon ;).
