- In this #shorts video I show you how to make one of my family's favorite cookie. These No Bake cookies are super easy and soooo good! You can't go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate and with the oats it makes these healthy, right?
No Bake Cookies
Ingredient
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup milk
3 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
3 cups old fashioned oats (if you use quick oat use 2 1/2 cups)
Instructions
In a large pot add butter and milk. Once butter is melted add sugar and cocoa. Stir until combined and bring to a boil. As soon as you see small bubbles along the edge of the pot, set a timer for 2 minutes. After the 2 minutes remove from heat and add the rest of ingredients. Immediately drop spoonfuls onto parchment paper as the cookies set up fast.

Made these tonight. I used 2 cups of oatmeal and 1 cup of coconut. They are a big hit. And so easy. Thank you!
My folks love these so I make them all the time. I've found you can use hot cocoa mix instead of unsweetened cocoa and it works just fine. You can also substitute the peanut butter for a cup of marshmallows, or even halve both and use them together. I intend to experiment more in the future with these!
For those who don't like oats, you can add rice crispy cereal or chex cereal
That's a great alternative! I never even thought about that! When I looked this up to double check the recipe I was between making rice crispy treats or these! I should have done a combo! Thank you for sharing this idea!
@@ameliawelsh9058 You're very welcome, my mom used to make these when I was a kid, absolutely love No Bake cookies :)
Just made them and was short on oatmeal. I immediately spotted crushed frosted flakes as the perfect substitute! Great minds think alike.
why i did that but its not hard , they not set us hard
I’ve been making these for at least 65 years. I like to use crunchy peanut butter in mine, and I normally make a double batch and share them with family & friends.
I tried recipe and it is great! Just remember to melt the butter before you put anything else in
Tried this recipe, I felt like they needed about 1/2 cup of more oats, to not be so "loose." Adding the extra half cup of oats made them form better, and made them more stable. Thank you for this easy recipe, I will keep it and use it a lot- I expect, in the future. 😊
My step mom always made these for me so i wanted to learn how she did it thanks
Back in 1967, my late mother used to babysit for a family from time to time. She would have been about 19 - 20 at the time. They made cookies like this, & mom loved them. Eventually they shared a copy of the recipe with her. I grew up loving these cookies any time mom made them. About 20 some years ago I was given a copy of the recipe. The only differences I've noticed are 1) mom used to place them on wax-paper lined plates before setting them in the fridge to set up.
2) I've always known these as "oatmeal candy cookies".
I just made these, and I can’t believe how delicious they are! And so easy!!! I substituted the peanut butter for almond because I have a peanut allergy. Definitely perfect for late night cravings!
O.M.G. I just made now and it was the best no bake cookie I gave ever made.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just made these (eating 1 now)! THANK YOU for making this simple short that didn't require me listening to a long, drawn out story, just to get a simple recipe. Easy & delicious!
Agreeeeeee
These my fav cookies but I use my grandmas recipe and I’ve never added peanut better before Ima have to try
I've tried that recipe and OMG those are sugary cookies. I like to use a quarter cup of sugar and powdered peanut butter because it's easier to measure. This lady does a nice job filming😊.
Add 1/8 tsp cayenne. Makes it more Yum I can’t explain it. I use 4 Tbs cocoa and I use pure maple syrup now no sugar. Just enough to sweeten. I freeze mine now because they are a different texture with no sugar. Chewy from not using sugar.
Thank you thank you thank you so much! I just made these with almond butter as I have an allergy to peanut butter... And I must say they came out incredible!
Yay! I bet they were delicious with almond butter.
I remember eating these at my grandparents and we called them dog drops lol!
Love the name! 😂

I’m gonna make these for my nieces and nephews
Thank you so much ❤
As a cookie lover, I'll definitely gonna try and make this one! Thanks for the recipe!
My mom and aunt has been making this for years, it's very nice
Really good! I like using crunchy peanut butter. 😊
Me too! 😊
I love no bake cookies
💖👼🏻🌺
😋❤️
Looks good asf
Turned out perfectly! I used half and half instead of milk and it worked just fine.
So glad you liked them! I’m sure the half and half gave them a little more creaminess. Thanks for letting me know.
So tasty and good , nice recipe Chef Kristi .
Yum!
beauty!
Made a big batch last only one left gotta make some more!
I understand they don’t last long in my house! 😊

I love no bake cookies! I got the recipe from a loved one (ex husband’s mother) back in the 80’s and it is the exact recipe you used. 💜

@@moraleslove1227 yes
Thanks made a double batch fast😊
Awesome! 👏🏼
Good work
Thanks 😊
My Mom made these and called them Cow Patties! I loved them!
I’ve never heard that one. 😂
@@ChefKristiThymetoCook I had a co-worker in Louisiana and she had a really old cookbook from MS, and this recipe was called cow patties.
@@kathyrama4570 interesting.
I just made it. It’s not too sweet I think I added a lot more cocoa.
Hi! Is it requiere to freeze them ? Or can the cookies be cool down in their own once they are place on the paper?
When my mother makes her no baked cookies they never last long because she had all five of us running for her cookies. When my dad was alive he went running for the cookies too. I'm hoping that she will make it but not even for sure if she will anymore because of my father being gone
With those ingredients it had to be good!
oh yeah
Can I use margarine from a tub
While in highschool we went to a girl's house. The kitchen light wasn't on but these same cookies were laying out on wax paper.
She said to help ourselves. I was hungry and love them so i gobbled down about five.
Somebody turned the lights on and ants were all over them. Her mom walked in as we were carrying on and was so embarrassed. She kept apologizing.
My friends had politely not said anything about how many I ate until we saw the ants. They were teasing me. So she really focused on me. Apologizing and apologizing. It was bad. I never went back to that house. They probably thought it was bc of the ants. But it wasn't, I just didn't know that girl very well.❤
What can I use in place of the peanut butter (peanut allergy)
You can use 1 cup of butterscotch chips with or without adding cocoa.
I'm glad u watched this. Never eating them again. All that sugar 😢
How long do I cook them what temperature
As soon as they start to bubble around the edges set timer for 3 minutes. They are temperamental though if you cook too long they are dry and not long enough they don’t set up. Cook on medium heat.
Then, dip them in chocolate 😊😊😊😊. So chocolate covered cookies
Is it 1 cup of butter?
I stick of butter or 1/2 cup
Sorry but I make these the other day the first part is amazing don’t change that but maybe add less oats and to make the timing a easy thing wait for it to boil and set a timer for one min or near that
How long do they last?
They are best eaten within 3 days but can last up to a week. Mine never last that long. 😂
Hey chef, don't be mad but I modified your recipe justa touch. I did everything you did but gotta little glutinous along the way. I increased the milk to 3/4 cup because I was also adding a 1/4 cup of semi sweet chocolate morsels, 3/4 cup of peanut butter chips and a 7oz. Bag of sweetened coconut flakes mixed together dry with the oats. Poured it all in together & mixed it all up good. Dropped em on the parchment paper & aluminum foil because I ran out of parchment paper. Dusted them with powdered sugar & patiently waited to see if they would even set up. Didn't take long at all for em to firm right up. Upon tasting the concoction I realized they weren't worth a dam! Don't do this!!!
Nawww, I'm just kiddin wiya. They turned out purdy good if you like coconut. Surprised me that I nailed the amount of milk to increase to compensate for the other added ingredients. My ole lady seems partial to em too! Wow! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I abused your recipe & say thanks for the quick to the point video.
😭😭😭😭😭
Instant or old fashioned?
Either will work. I like old fashioned the best myself.
Wait do we put it I in an oven
No oven that’s why they are called no bake cookies.
I made these today and I added more oats and no peanut butter my son has an peanut allergy. But they sticking to.my wax paper didn't have parchment paper. Why are they sticking.
I’m guessing omitting the peanut butter changed the consistency.
Hi! Do you know if i can reduce the sugar? Will it affect the consistency of the cookie?
Unfortunately I don’t think you can reduce the sugar because I’m not sure it will set up if you do.
Thank you for the reply!:)
What if you don’t heat up anything? Just mix it all up?
It won’t work unless heated.
Does almond milk work?
I’ve never tried with almond milk but I think it should work.
Spray the wax paper with Pam cooking spray because they will stick. Nobody likes eating paper.
I’ve never had that problem 🤷🏻♀️
@ChefKristiThymetoCook I do. Why do mine stick to the paper. I'm forced to use Pam to stop it from happening.
@@user-yh6gd4cw7r I honestly have no idea. I’ve used wax paper and parchment paper and even aluminum foil and never had them stick. They easily peel right off.
Mine turned out dry any way to fix them
Unfortunately sometimes they are drier than other times. It has to do with the level of humidity and cooking them too long.
How long do these last
They are good for up to a week but taste the best within 3 to 4 days like most cookies. 😊
What if I don't have vanilla extract?
It’s fine without it! 😊
okay, you just need 1 small cube of butter you dont need a whole stick...
Can I use soy milk
I’ve never tried making them with soy milk but I think it would work…
@@ChefKristiThymetoCookHi Kristi round 2 I enjoyed my cookies so much that I wanted to make more but my work schedule kept me so busy.I did mentioned that I used soy milk but it was Almond milk.I got the week off and will be making a lot more
I didn't see any ingredients names is it in the bio
The recipe is in the description box.
Substitute for peanut butter
Any nut butter will work.
Why are some videos saying 3 tablespoons of cocoa some say two help!
better with out the peanut butter. had to cook them for 3 minutes or they never set
11:43 I have been guessing really well the prices but with this one I was SPOT ON… I saw that and went, 25 dollars. I don’t know, maybe living with the Argentinian economy makes me see everything as really really expensive.
Literally let mine boil for 2:45 and they still were gooey trash.
Sugary cookies
Um those are not cookies
My cookies never seem to harden…I don’t know why
Your not boiling them long enough. As soon as it starts to boil set the timer for 3 minutes.
@@ChefKristiThymetoCook ok, thank you!
Can I sub honey?
Unfortunately you cannot. They won’t set up if you use honey in place of sugar.
Too much sugar 🤮🤮🤮
