I got a kickass super simple recipe that we've been making since at least the 80s. Melt 1 bag of butterscotch chips and 1 bag of semi or milk chips together. Once melted, stir in 1 cup of Original Harvest Crunch cereal. Plop 'em down in bite-size lumps like this and refrigerate. Feking delicious!

Mom gave one to our German shepherd dog. , ( this was before anyone told the dogs they could not have chocolate) she couldn’t chew it either. It lay outside for months before it finally dissolved in the rain.

I grew up with these!!!!!!!! My mom sent them to me in Iraq for Christmas, I was so touched and homesick. One time I was making these and realized I didn’t have enough peanut butter and used Nutella instead. Like, a 50/50 mix of peanut butter and Nutella. It actually worked out pretty well
Yeh I agree every dish I’ve made and I’ve made a lot f different dishes I always use dry measurements for liquid and it always turns out perfect so fight me on that.
Tip: line your measuring cup with plastic wrap before putting the peanut butter in it. Then just "flip" it into the pan. Not only does it keep you from having to wash the measuring cup, but you retain the full amount of the measureed ingredient when adding it to your recipe.
My grandmother's chocolate oatmeal cookies. A staple in my family. The role of baker of these little balls of joy has now passed to my father. Granny made sure he could duplicate them perfectly before she passed so that he could make them for his brothers every Christmas. They are incredibly simple and really are delicious.

When my mom was little, in the early 60's, she and her friends would crowd source the ingredients for these and go to someone's house to make them. My grandmother would ask "Are you making that junk again?" So forever after, those are known as junk cookies in our family.
These are also "no bake" cookies around these parts. My Grams made these all the time. I used to take pack lunch to school in elementary. Yes I'm a Gen Xer. Loved these cookies. Couldn't get enough. Yum yum yum.

It's just casual conversation about something we found amusing (this isn't even covering the idea that English may not be their first language). While I agree that under most conditions punctuation and spelling are important, this is not that place (considering the conversation)

My grandma made these for us growing up and will occasionally make a batch. They've easily always been one of my favorites, I told her she had to teach me the recipe. Very good cookie lol they're delicious especially when they're still kinda warm and gooey

I grew up calling those preacher cookies. My grandma said it's because they were the quickest and easiest thing to make when you knew the preacher was coming over haha

When my mom was little, in the early 60's, she and her friends would crowd source the ingredients for these and go to someone's house to make them. My grandmother would ask "Are you making that junk again?" So forever after, those are known as junk cookies in our family.
Your mom and her friends sound so wholesome. Bet they didn't get into much trouble growing up. I would have loved doing that cookie thing.
Our aunt would make these during "her time of the month"
So they were known as "PMS cookies" to us

These are also "no bake" cookies around these parts. My Grams made these all the time. I used to take pack lunch to school in elementary. Yes I'm a Gen Xer. Loved these cookies. Couldn't get enough. Yum yum yum.
My grandmother used to make these for me. I now have her recipe box (which my grandfather made for her - bonus points) and still make these to this day.
My late husband made these every Christmas for years. Once in a blue moon, he'd make some just for the helluvit. lol Haven't had any since his passing, now I must make some! Thanks for the laughs, and the reminder!❤

I make these about every other week. My grandgirls love them. I sometimes leave the cocoa out and add a cup of raisins, a cup of chopped walnuts, and a teaspoon of cinnamon. They are great too!

It makes sense that it came from the 50s because literally everyone was trying something new. People came back from the war, credit cards were being advertised like crazy, house wives needed new recipes for their husbands, and the world of cooking and baking was being experimented on with more than just corn, bread, and milk.
