This is the most concise and accurate video I've seen on Christmas light programs. I'm using xlights for the second year and the software keeps getting better every release and the community is very supportive. Thanks Tech Guy.
This takes a level of skill and patience I’ll never know! I’m the guy in that song “The Twelve Pains Of Christmas” who’s screaming about putting up the lights.🤣 “Now why the hell are they blinking??? Fine! You’re so smart, you rig up the lights!!!”
Nice overview. I invested in a couple of strands of twinkly lights 1st year and having fun with them. Basically side hobby now. I’ll save the elaborate light show for the veterans and professionals. I am just want to be better than the ordinary lights but still make the lights dance with effects. Will be sure to join all the groups. This is just fun.
You start small! I am in the same boat as where to start??? I am starting with a small digiquad controller. Then purchased 15 ft of led strips and one small led panel from Ali express to start playing on a small scale literally on a work bench. To get started this way it’s a much smaller investment and hopefully a less painful learning curve. Then RUclips how to videos.
Thank you very much for this video, little by little I want to enter this world of a house animated with lights, for now I have achieved it with digital and solid rhythmic LED lights and video projections, but it never looks as great as yours. Greetings from Costa Rica
would love to know where (and what brand) you purchase your gear (lights, power supply, housing boxes, etc...) also if you recommend regulated or non-regulated LEDs.
Hi, I would like to know which brands and names of the products you used to build this project.Very interesting indeed, if you could specify as I wanted to build it here at home but I don't know where to start
Hi good job you have done l am looking for sources to get all supplies together to start a mega tree project give us some tips where can we find all kind of stuff thanks for your contribution to the community. Jimbala
There are probably other vendors with similar products, but the one I used is this: www.holidaycoro.com/PixNode-Net-RGB-Pixel-Node-Mounting-Net-p/775.htm
I want to start a small theme park. Do you have trouble shooting issues with the operation. Weather? Shortages , anything that would upset a paying customer
Omg 😅 im even more exited now I was going to do lor this year I just wasn’t sure if I could do it so if I get it can I pay you to help give me guidance and ask questions
Hello sir, I am putting together my pixel LED light show for Christmas, but I want to make some sequences to the rhythm of music, and I would like to know what program to use so that the pixel LEDs work to the rhythm of the music. Thank you so much.
What do the AplhaPix boards control and is there a factor that decides between a falcon, falcon differential, or AlphaPix for the controller for the specific area of lights? @@TechSupportGuyTV
This is so amazing i dream of doing this some day! It looks expensive 😆 but some day! Thank u so much for this vid I’ll definitely be coming back to it!
Looks beautiful for a visit. That said, I hope that you have kept to the spirit of Christmas and have worked with your neighbors across the street to make sure it is not a nuisance to them. I have seen one too many loud displays, running late into the night for weeks on end, blasting into the neighbor's living room.
Hi, great video and hopefully I can do a light show for this Xmas. What do you use the FM transmitter for? Is that for the music or just to start and stop the show?
I keep the Rapsberry Pis up and running 24/7, but have the controllers (and power supplies to the LEDs) on timers. I've seen too many photos of burned up pixels to leave them on 24/7.
I wanted to get falcon also but ran into the same out of stock. I ended up going with Dig Octo controller and its working well with WLED so far. Its way cheaper than a falcon also. I'm a total beginner and will move to a show in xlights over the summer.
Are their communities that provide the configured files for songs so you don’t have to custom program each song? IE… download a majority of it and tweak … or no… cause every yard will have different illumination items… hrmmmmmm
Yes, you can do a search for the xLights shared Dropbox. Also, there is www.xlightsaroundtheworld.com/ where a couple of songs are selected each year. The sequence is released in such a way that it's (relatively) easy for people to adapt it to their homes.

Thank you for the compliment! You're right -- xLights and the volunteers who keep it going are amazing!

Good info to get me started. Just found a falcon 16v3 at value village for $20 and figured it would be something cool like this

The best video for beginners.straight to the point.,👏👏
Thank you! 😁
This video is 3 years old. For someone starting from scratch, would you still recommend the WS2811?
0:26 Light-O-Rama can also run pixels, not just ac controllers.
Xlights, similarly, can run ac controllers as well as pixels and rgb.
Thanks for the information.
Where do I even start for a new comer?
Save up a lot of money 💰
Get a loan at the bank!😊
Don’t

@@davegladys9820 I really appreciate it!

Just thinking of getting into this. Great video. I have a small lot in The Villages FL. Thanks
Excellent job
I love it
Can't wait for your 2021 Christmas lights tutorials.
Thanks. Best information ever.
where can you buy the RGB leds from manufacture
would love to know where (and what brand) you purchase your gear (lights, power supply, housing boxes, etc...) also if you recommend regulated or non-regulated LEDs.
Would love to do this but i dont know how
Awsome job.
Hey I was wondering where did you get the virtual Santa?
From the trunk of a car from a man with two 🦷
amazing!

Where do you buy this sll

Where did you get the pixel holders for your pillars ?
There are probably other vendors with similar products, but the one I used is this: www.holidaycoro.com/PixNode-Net-RGB-Pixel-Node-Mounting-Net-p/775.htm
So, when ordering the WS2811 lights, where did you buy them from and how did you find a pixel-per-foot amount to know how many you needed to order?
The fixed asset tag on that projector 🤫
I want to start a small theme park. Do you have trouble shooting issues with the operation. Weather? Shortages , anything that would upset a paying customer
can I use the controller to work with DMX lights and KVANT lasers?
Omg 😅 im even more exited now I was going to do lor this year I just wasn’t sure if I could do it so if I get it can I pay you to help give me guidance and ask questions
For your 4 pillar led pixel nets are you running 2” or 3” spacing?
How important is using a switch to control the light show? Is this preferred over jumping from controller to controller? Thank you
Where do you get the board for the lights
Hello sir, I am putting together my pixel LED light show for Christmas, but I want to make some sequences to the rhythm of music, and I would like to know what program to use so that the pixel LEDs work to the rhythm of the music. Thank you so much.
How many falcon controllers do you use for your current setup?
Only one Falcon, plus three Falcon differentials. There are also two AlphaPix boards in the show.
What do the AplhaPix boards control and is there a factor that decides between a falcon, falcon differential, or AlphaPix for the controller for the specific area of lights? @@TechSupportGuyTV
Hello, what kind of controller would you recommend for a drive thru light show?

That’s what the fm transmitter is for. People tune to the station in their car and can hear the music in synch with the lights.
Hi, great video and hopefully I can do a light show for this Xmas. What do you use the FM transmitter for? Is that for the music or just to start and stop the show?
It’s to broadcast the signal so cars can tune in and hear the show
What controllers are you using?
Why did you switch from LOR to xlights even though LOR makes pixels?
Where did you get the mounting boards for the LED lights?
holidaycoro is one of the vendors
can we still do light o Rama
Thanks for this video.
This will be my first year in this hobby.
I have one question, do you keep the raspberry pi & the falcon controller on 24/7?

@@TechSupportGuyTV Thanks for the info.
I want to get into it so badly but I dont know what controller to get.. Falcons are always out of stock when I check.

Beautiful job 👏!!! I have a few questions, did you use the WS2811 around the roof line? How did you attach it?
The LEDs for the roof lines are attached to ChromaTrim. I have a handful of zip tie mounts permanently screwed into the house.
well done video did you stop making content?
Do you have any websites to get ws2812 RGB led lights?
What ab ur electric bill
I'm surprised this is not DMX controlled. Why is that?

Time and money well spent
What virtual Santa did you get? Any suggestions?
Do you know a good site or manufacturer that I can order by a large quantity please let me know I would appreciate a lot @tech support guy
How much does it all cost
One arm and half a leg!!😮
couldn't you just use a bluetooth projector?
It’s beautiful, but Looks expensive. and a bit complicated
My question is how much did this all cost lol
First born child!😟
I will pay you to come to my house and set this up, complete with a material list for what I want
Electricity wise how much is the bill
LOR is still the best, nothing has come close
It works by having your neighbors block the fucking road when im just trying to go home
No need for all that garbage these days!
