    Question on show FPS.
I set my sequences to run at 62FPS (16ms) and in xLights it runs beautifully. Really smooth. But when I run my actual lights (from the sequencer or xSchudule) it seems like it’s only 20-30 FPS.
To my knowledge in theory it should all just work as my biggest light set is only 287 nodes. Each prop is connected to its own port on a controller, I don’t daisy chain. So I know pixels per port isn’t causing the FPS issue.
My computer is definitely not the issue as it’s a workstation/gaming/editing/rendering PC (I know a lot of things 😂).
Each controller has its own network so I know networking and bandwidth isn’t an issue.
My controllers (for pixels) are the Light-O-Rama Pixie 8, and the Holiday Coro Alphapix Flex.
When I’m running the show off xSchudule it says “FPS: 62” but when your watching it it’s still only 20-30.
Anything I’m missing? Was I suppose to do 58FPS instead? I haven’t tried 40. Not that 40 is bad I just want to run my show around 60.
    Thanks!

What equipment do you need? I'm a beginner beginner, I decorate old school every year. I'm not saying your videos are not helpful, but it's over my head and I can learn it, but I don't know what I need beyond this or if I want to invest in the project yet and invest in the time to learn what you are talking about. Does that make since? Like maybe a pre video to this to things you need, how much that will cost, and can I use things I already have? What if they are old school things? Or do I have to buy all new things? Thank you.

Hey there, I am happy to do a video overview describing all the gear you would need to get going. I will work on that once I wrap up this series. In the meantime, I have a majority of our parts we use listed on our website www.bostickfamilylightshow.com/Product-Links/ From there you can find links and pricing to give you a ball park idea..

You can use something called LOR which allows traditional AC lights (old school) and also add Pixels like we use to combine the two. You can also add more pixels or AC lights over time to grow into a larger show. I don't have experience with LOR, or using AC lights for a show like this, but I do know others that do it, and know its possible. The average estimate for building a show is about a dollar a pixel.. this helps cover the cost of the controllers, misc hardware and other gear you will need on top of the pixels to set up the show.. If you are good with DIY, you might be able to knock that down considerably.

@@BostickFamilyLightShow Thanks a lot for replying. It's something I've thought about for years, but I can't even begin to comprehend what it all entails. I wanted to make an arch over the driveway that looks like it shoots blue light one way, and another that shoots red light the other way (I have Heat and Cold Miser who battle on each side of my driveway) but again, no idea what that will entail for me. Again, thanks, I'll subscribe.

@@Ilovesmesomeketchup You're welcome. I have a pixel video coming out soon, and then I am going into some of the props.. After that I will see what videos people want and start working on those, an overview is on the list
