So for anyone wondering - I did a strand test on three methods. 1. This recipe to the dot. 2. This recipe, without the purple shampoo. 3. My own concoction of 1 part dawn dish soap, 1 part conditioner, 1 part baking soda, and 1 part 20vol developer. My hair - bleached once on virgin hair, applied Arctic fox Virgin Pink once same day after bleaching. I’ve had the pink in about 3 weeks. After trying several baking soda + shampoo methods to remove dye from hair it barely lightened. My hair was very healthy, I condition frequently and leave in argon oil. I left all methods on equal amounts of hair for exactly 15 minutes: Method one, from this video results: somewhat dry brittle hair, but totally lifted all the color. Purple shampoo did nothing really to tone, because my hair was pink before, and purple would not cancel pink. Hair was a light gold, the same color my bleached hair was before dying pink. Method 2: same results as method one, dryish and the tone was the same. Method three: exact same lift results BUT my hair was super duper soft. Like hella soft, I guess the conditioner really worked wonders because I had literally no dryness or damage. Some intense conditioner left the dry parts soft after about 30 minutes of leaving it in, but it still felt a little more dry than the 3rd method. I don’t think the purple shampoo is necessary if you don’t have it, purple doesn’t cancel red or pink, green would. I also would mix a conditioner in there (believe me the sulfates in the dish soap will do plenty on stripping the color). If you want to tone your hair wait another day or two depending on the health of your hair. Then dye or leave it as is. I’m extremely happy with the results but highly recommend strand testing!
This was so helpful thank you a ton. I'm doing your method, any tips?! 😭 I'm trying to go white/silver for Xmas from bright pink. The dye I used was magenta semi perm from ion. I did it in the beginning of September n it has naturally fadeing since then / I've used purple shamp n others to fade it as much as possible for abt 2 weeks now for sure. It is a split dye tho so do I not get it on any of my natural black?! Would it damage yes right? Also my developer is 30 so I will be diluting it to 20..im useing purple conditioner for it aswell instead of shampoo.
It didn't work. Got the ingredients mixed correctly. Didn't do anything. Didn't Change it purple even. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I tried everything all the videos said to do and nothing.
This worked for me! Thank you! I had neon pink hair (semi-permanent). My natural colour is dark brown. I made the mixture exactly as you said (equal amounts of everything) and left the mixture on for an hour without a cap (because I didn't have one). My hair now looks like it did after it was bleached before the pink was put in. Just gotta bleach the ends a little more, then tone, and I can be a nice blonde! Definite upvote :)
@@meganhaase698 It depends. Toner is used depending on the current state of your hair and what colour you want it to be. Look up some of the basics on Google. The most important thing is that it will not lighten your hair. You can't use a super platinum blonde toner on hair that is orange; it won't do anything. Find the level your hair is at, then go from there. I personally used a Wella toner but since this was years ago now, I don't remember what exact one.
I am truly thankful that women like you are reaching out and empowering women like me to take charge of our own self-care, without paying an incredible amount of money or having to wait for an appointment. Hey! So I used this and it didn't work to take out my VERY pastel pink stains (arctic fox is great until I wanna take it out lol) BUT I've found this method works very well for lightening my roots! I have naturally dark brown hair and this helped lighten it to a caramel color, then I do it again once or twice then I have platinum roots!

I hope this works as well for me as it did for you!!! Fingers crossed!!!!
This is exactly what I'm going thru todayyy I had magenta semi perm from ion in and I have to go white for Xmas ASAP. I've been slowly fadeing it since the beginning of fall. Asking if it worked well! Was your hair dry and very damaged after, do u think it's worth ittt. Any tips!? Literally any input could help me I'm just a lil nervous if anything 😹
Ya girl got a bag on as well. But I used this like dawn 4x strength and like...it's a bleach replacement, it says. So I may have done a bad thing. But oh well
I love the pink on you - enhances your skin tone beautifully. I'm a nurse and I get this all the time from my work :doesn't make difference to how I do my job .
Heck no it don't. I've had my share of surgery and my best nurses and doctors had tattoos and colored hair and their own vibe. Thankful for them (you) all!! ❤️❤️
Open brain surgery for my aneurysm. I had fun with the nurses. Day 2, guy nurse comes in. Talking to my bf instead of me, about turkey hunting. Lol. So I fake cried and got all serious and said "nurse, please tell me, will I, will I ever be able to wiggle my right ear again?" He looked so confused, so I wiggled the left and he about peed his pants laughing.
Job hunting brought me to this video researching how to get bright pink out of my hair. I have been dying my hair pink since I was 46 for F*** Cancer. I am 53 now and have to remove it because it is frowned upon in the mental health field. Doesn't make sense since some of us dye our hair certain colors because it has meaning to us. It helps bring awareness to some causes. You think that would be respected. Thanks so much for your helpful video.
I'm sorry you had to get rid of your pink hair for your new job. I understand it's frustrating, especially like you mentioned, since you were doing it for a good cause, and honestly just because having colored hair is fun! Doesn't make you any less professional.
This really worked and I am SO happy with my results! The pink is gone and I am left with a pretty very light blonde. Thank you! No yellows or oranges at all!
I tried this recpie to remove my artic fox virgin pink hair colour, and it worked!!!! It all came out. I put in a deep conditioning hair mask and it's back to blonde!
Updated below.... I cant recommend. IT WORKED! I did equal parts of baking soda, 10vol developer, the generic Sally's purple shampoo, and dawn dish soap. Massaged it into hair (not scalp). Then put a plastic shopping bag on my head for 30min. 🤯 Update: Multiple hair masks to try to restore moisture and repair damage..... My high still Feels Like Straw and is a tangled mess.
I had to do it so many times to get rid of the blue and still struggled to get it out. Yes. It is very drying. Had to do constant deep conditioning treatments. But yes, very very drying
I'm shocked by how similar your pink color at the start of the video is to my own hair color! Mine is ever-so-slightly more purple/magenta than yours, but it's so slight that maybe one shampoo will take me to where you were. I just re-colored my hair because my previous dye job (it was the same color as the one I currently have) was washed out to pastel levels, and my roots were starting to show so I colored it again just so I wouldn't have to re-bleach my roots yet and because it's been about 7 weeks since I colored it and I was bored... BUT, I've been (very badly) wanting to dye my hair a silvery ash-blonde color. My complexion can't pull off platinum, but I really want a grayish/slate-ish/smokey silver color. My hair is naturally dark so when the roots grow out a bit, it'll actually look cool.

I saw this video and immediately ran to my kitchen 😅 it definitely work but my hair is now super dry (that’s on me for mixing 30vol developer instead of 10vol 😢) I kept the mix for 15-20mins as I was cleaning the mess I did in my bathroom. Now I put some coconut leave on conditioner and wrapped my head with a towel. I’m praying I still have hair tomorrow morning 😂 But hey, it was fun! 😊

Didn’t work for me ((so sad)) it made my bright pink less noticeable but didn’t come out all the way. My hair now feels like hay :( how can I get it soft again and can I try this again in like a week to get the rest of the pink out?
I had a similar outcome. For some reason, my hair likes to retain dyes & pigments I'm always told fade easily! The strands that did release the most pink were also the ones that felt the most like hay afterwards. I used the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo (love it) and the Conditioner (meh) right after I rinsed out the stripper, and then air dried before using the Olaplex No. 0. After 10-20 mins., I then put the Olaplex No. 3 as a mask overnight. Will probably resort to bleach (after a 10-day wait) to even out all my colors, since I also have major root growth (that actually lightened 1 level w/the stripper since I'd had to use 20 Vol. 😮). I know I'll probably end up cutting off a foot of hair, but I'm giving these so-called bonding products a chance to help me save some length. heh heh 😉
Anyone tried this on red hair ? I still have pink left from the red dye after bleaching it, don't mind it but if I could get a full blonde without bleaching a 3 time that'd be nice
the developer is what is lightening the hair- without it you'd just be using a bunch of soap lol. i think it has to be dawn because of the chemicals in the soap help with the reactions
A lot of people got better results when they added baking soda powder to the mix, I have magenta hair and I’m about to try it like that.... I’m nervous bc I have work tomorrow regardless 😆
Oh my god this worked better than I could’ve ever imagined. I left it on for 20 minutes and all of the pink is completely gone! For context, I had blonde highlights (a lot of them, you can check my Instagram @hayyallee to see) and decided to dye them pink (check my Hair 💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️ Highlight on IG to see that). I used “Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink”. I decided I didn’t want the pink anymore after several weeks and tried this method (used Dawn, SalonCare 10 volume developer, L’Oreal Ever Pure Purple Shampoo, Arm & Hammer Baking Soda) and the pink is completely gone! I’m ELATED!! Thank you so much!

😮). I know I'll probably end up cutting off a foot of hair, but I'm giving these so-called bonding products a chance to help me save some length. heh heh 😉
this workk i dye my hair dark brown then i want my light bleach hair back then it workkk im shock plus my hair sooo healthy no damage at alllll
I have 35 volume developer. Do you think it can work? Or will it damage my hair?
35 is way too much, it wilm definitely hurt your hair. For this process the most you can use is a level 10 developer.
I wasn’t sure if it would be fine. Thanks a bunches. :)
I’m sorry for missing this if it was mentioned but when you say equal parts do you mean by weight or could I just use a measuring cup
I tried it but we don’t have dawn dish soap here so i used another one my mixture was really bubbly i will see if it’s still working
also have to dye my hair for a job ;(
Anyone tried this on red hair ? I still have pink left from the red dye after bleaching it, don't mind it but if I could get a full blonde without bleaching a 3 time that'd be nice
I tried and it did absolutely nothing 😭😭 I want this pink out but I don’t want to use bleach
i bleached my hair twice can i use that too to my bright pink hair? will the bleach come off too?
Bleach removes pigment from your hair u can't unbleach hair
Does this work on a permanent pink dye?
what dye is this? looking for a pink that won't stain too bad
I love the color you got but I hope this works on regular dye trying it right now will up date y’all I have straight red hair
Did it work
will this work to permanent hair color?
How is the damage? My hair is super damaged from bleaching and I want to avoid making it more dry and brittle
It can literally fall off cause of soda
Mine is more purple pink will this still work ??
Is it less damaging than bleach ?
Would this work on reddish-pink hair?
I got ion permanent magenta and idk what to do I got hair color remover since it's a permanent hair dye and not semi permanent & bleach for afterwards
I also love the Pink Floyd shirt. 👍🏼
Does this work for black dyed hair
is your hair naturally blonde?
Off topic completely but does anyone else get an amazing Aurora vibe after she strips her hair?
would this work for red dye?
What hair dye did you use? I’m tryna get that colour it’s beautiful
My hair is this color and I used arctic fox the color was virgin pink !
@@ashleymarie5059 virgin pink is really hot pink that’s weird ... it made my hair a true pink color
@@WaifuRosie I guess it depends on what color you start out with. Maybe! Lol idk much about hair.
@@ashleymarie5059 if u have the same blonde color it was till out the same color . Maybe ur hair was super dark then
my pink was extremely similar to hers! I used the color wrath by artic fox! Wrath is more berry/magenta toned then virgin pink.
Do you think 20 v developer would work? Or would it be too damaging?
I have seen a lotta people do this and use 20 even 30 so I think it will be fine
if you apply 20 volume to damp hair it’ll cut the volume- similar to how a “bleach bath” goes
Nice. 👍 You have helped me to get a new job too!!
Anyone know if this can work with 20vol (6%) if I just use less??
wait its actually so cute
Where would I get developer from
Did anyone try without the developer? I don’t have any right now.
And does it absolutely have to be Dawn? Can I use another brand?
the developer is what is lightening the hair- without it you'd just be using a bunch of soap lol.
i think it has to be dawn because of the chemicals in the soap help with the reactions
A lot of people got better results when they added baking soda powder to the mix, I have magenta hair and I’m about to try it like that.... I’m nervous bc I have work tomorrow regardless 😆
How did it work out?
Is this permanent hair dye or fantasy??
It works because you're using developer which you use when bleaching your hair which does infact damage your hair. Developer is not good for anyone's hair
That color is stunning on you
Do you need developer
did you just eye ball how much you used ?
Does anyone know if this would work on towel dried hair
Can I do it damped too ?
I didn't know the amounts of each product so I eye balled it
I’m trying it now my hair is pink was trying to dye it copper red let’s see
does the pink not naturally fade out completely?
I think it does, but I was on a time crunch of needing the color out!
What if you dont have dawn?
this didnt work fa me. i am big sad. 😔 💔
Thank you so much I appreciate for your help❤
IM SAVING THIS FOR LATER BECAUSE IM BLONDE AND LIKE DYING MY HAIR 😭
I want to be the first to comment. You look awesome.
Aw thank you!
Are there other options to if I don’t have the purple shampoo?😔
I just used developer, baking soda and head and shoulders and it worked to get purple hair dye so that might work
It turned it into a blonde-ish color I think
@@abigaylehamblin5016 did you mix the dandruff shampoo with it all or ??
@@LunazDollz Yeah that's the head and shoulders but make sure it's white bc when I ran out and used a green color it gave it a green tint
I’m doing this right how
Measurements?
Equal parts ☯️💓
