Catching up 💃💃💃. Thank you for sharing this with us so honestly. How does the cost of living measurement/ compare - I know Dubai is quiet expensive for example- so does the higher salary get canceled out by high cost of living ?
Not at all, I think because of the accommodation being provided and not having to spend on transport, the bulk of my money goes to groceries and I can save up the rest.
Be extra careful of scams, disreputable recruiters, and direct school communications wherein the “school’s” url is incorrect by just a couple characters (making it appear at a quick glance that it is a legitimate school’s email &/or website). Also, be aware of scam recruiters that keep you waiting, postponing, & rescheduling appointments: they aren’t real recruiters, they’re just obtaining your information. Protect yourself, good luck, and if you have success please post about it here and elsewhere ! 🙏 (Unlike some teaching abroad markets, there still is a dearth of solid information about getting a good position in the Middle East.)

Hey Geraldine, if the accommodation is at the school then they do not include an amount. This was very informative, thank you Khay. Quick question, does the UAE consider experience from teaching English in South Korea? I'm planning on going to SK end of this year, obtain a PGCE by end of 2023,will they count the year before I was licensed? TIA ❤️
I’m not quite sure babe, what I do know is that they only count experience after obtaining your qualification. Like mine got cut down from 7 years to 3 years.
Lovely content Kay! I just wanted to inquire on the PGCE, can I do an “online PGCE” or is it better if I do a “face to face “ one ? What’s are the rules that side with regard to this currently ? Kind regards !
Hi Mvelase, your safest bet is to enroll for face-to-face. There’s still a big issue with online degrees in the Middle East. Also, if your first degree is a Bachelor’s degree then you do not need a PGCE.

Hi Kay I have applied to another school in Dubai using the one of the recruitment sites which I cant remember now. The school got back with me wanted my CV I emailed them. They just sent me an offer that they took me without an interview. I am a bit unsure if this is legit or what. Is there a way to verify if I am really in contact with the school?
Just check that whoever is communicating with you is using the school’s domain and if they ask you to pay for anything then that’s an immediate red flag. Schools are responsible for the recruitment fees and they’ll pay for all the necessary stuff.
...and how rich is Khay's content though? 🤍💛 " May you please make a video, highlighting the difference between Teacher, Homeroom Teacher, Assistant Teacher and Classroom Teacher. Thanks so much for sharing the info. 🙏🏿
Good day Ms Khay Hope you’re well I have a few questions: 1. Is there room for negotiation with your potential employer? 2. As a qualified teacher with a PGCE AND 2 years experience as well as a Masters degree in another field what should salary expectation be? Thank you for all the informative videos
Most schools will require a minimum of two years of teaching experience. I would suggest you try to get some sort of teaching experience even if it doesn't make it to two years.

Hi Saiqa, I say go for it! There shouldn’t be anything stopping you because you have experience. Start applying and look for walk-in interviews.
Thanku so much for ur positive views .. Plz remember in prayers for getting a very good job soon
@@saiqamoras1052 Will do so!
@@Khay_unfilteredhi khay so dubai requires a teaching qualification only? I cannot apply with my bachelors degree from other areas?
I have seven yrs of experience and iam a graduate too can i apply?
Yes you should go for it! 😃
Thank you soo much khay..
@@fathimarushda5388 Only a pleasure!
@@Khay_unfiltered i heard ppl say that gulf experience is a must and we cant demand for salary increment at the beginning is that true?
@@fathimarushda5388 They do prefer experience in the Gulf countries and it’s true about the salary increments.
@@Khay_unfiltered thanks for your prompt response! 🙂
Does a bachelors enable you to teach actual subjects eg. If I studied a Business degree , will I be eligible to teach for example , economics and business ?
@@mvelasembambisa1420 Yes, that's how it works. You will be eligible to teach the subject that is related to your bachelor's degree.
@@mvelasembambisa1420 Hey! Can you get experience with just a degree and no pgce? Since you mentioned that you don't need a pgce😅I heard that you definitely need relevant 2 years experience
@@latifamthembu4372 Yes , PGCE with 1-2 years experience is a minimum requirement from most job posts iv read .
I applied on Teachaway nd waiting,, after seeing this video I wanna move tomorrow 😂
It’s good that you’ve started applying. You should apply on other sites as well to increase your chances.
@@Khay_unfilteredwill do my love, thank you so much, I was applying on Teach anywhere just now. Thank you for your videos and actually replying❤️❤️highly appreciated.
How much a science teacher gets salary? What are the requirements for a science teacher?
Hey Dendi, it all depends on the school and the amount of experience you have. You would need to have a Bachelor's degree in the Science field.
Hey which country are you from ?
Hey, I am from South Africa.
What evidence do they need to proof you have taught in south Africa?
Hi Kay I have applied to another school in Dubai using the one of the recruitment sites which I cant remember now. The school got back with me wanted my CV I emailed them. They just sent me an offer that they took me without an interview. I am a bit unsure if this is legit or what. Is there a way to verify if I am really in contact with the school?
Hey babe, it has happened to some people I know and it was legit.
Just check that whoever is communicating with you is using the school’s domain and if they ask you to pay for anything then that’s an immediate red flag. Schools are responsible for the recruitment fees and they’ll pay for all the necessary stuff.
...and how rich is Khay's content though? 🤍💛

May you please make a video, highlighting the difference between Teacher, Homeroom Teacher, Assistant Teacher and Classroom Teacher. Thanks so much for sharing the info. 🙏🏿
I’ll add it on my content planner 😊
Good day Ms Khay
Hope you’re well
I have a few questions:
1. Is there room for negotiation with your potential employer?
2. As a qualified teacher with a PGCE AND 2 years experience as well as a Masters degree in another field what should salary expectation be?
Thank you for all the informative videos
Hi Thaakir,
1. Yes, there is always room for negotiation.
2. Since you hold a Master's degree, it should be between 12k to 18k AED
I want to switch careers so i don't have teaching experience 😕
Most schools will require a minimum of two years of teaching experience. I would suggest you try to get some sort of teaching experience even if it doesn't make it to two years.
12400 is 30000 Ghana cedis?? Oh God I need just one-third of this. I have taught physics in a high school in Ghana for 11 years and my salary hasn’t still exceeded 250 dollars with zero allowance I now understand why west Africans are running away. I am joining u now
Hey there, you should certainly apply. With your prior teaching experience, you'll stand a good chance. 🙂
Hi fella! I have done Mathematics and Physics. I hold a bachelor of education degree, my pay is $400 in my country. We can push for this together...
Do you pay for your own flight from SA to UAE? Great video by the way 😊
Hey love, no the school will pay for your flight ticket.
So sad South Africa is the only African country that are allowed to teach in Asia. Why is it a curse to be an African?
No that's not true. Many other Africans are here in UAE.
Hi Kay, I hope you're doing well ,I'm an English teacher .I have been teaching English for seven years and I'm coming to the UAE next June ,if you could send me your email, because I need to ask you a couple of questions.
Regards!
Hi Mr. Hero, for security reasons I can't share my email address. But I'll be happy to answer your questions here.
