Thanks So Much for a Brilliantly Informative Vidclip ..... Just loved the presentation .... Very Best to You and Yours from Christchurch, New Zealand .....
Hi thank you for walking us through the image r and lightburn process, can I just ask, when I click preview in lightburn, it doesn’t show the image, if I unclick pass through the image is visible in the preview window, is this normal if you use the passthrough button?
Hey, Great video, I have a xtool D1 pro 20W and I'd love to know the settings for that please? Because I'm in Australia the settings and media used are always different :(
nice ! just wondering , on mine( same laser and using LB) 2 things, how long did your take, and when i put in 245 DPI it shows .003937 in line interval ? how do you get yours showing 254 with .100 ? im new if you couldn't tell .Thanks
Looks Great I just got my D1 about 2 weeks ago I followed your example on same pic and the preview said it would take 47hr 22min and 32 sec any idea what i could be doing wrong. Thanks.
Mine did the same. When I put the pic in lightburn it showed spd/pwr at 3000/100, time est=5:30:31. at his settings it was 328:35:28. I'm learning too.
I can’t get mine to look like yours. I have followed what you put also have done many test runs with different powers and nothing. Any help would be great. Thanks
This is AWESOME. May I ask if you have done images of people? I have the 20W .. I want to do an image of a family member who passed. I ended up with dots
Thanks. My very first test was with people. Here’s the link ruclips.net/user/shortsUU3qRIPtblM?feature=share I might be able to help you prep the image and the power settings I used here will work for it. Add me on Facebook facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086687829022&mibextid=LQQJ4d
Hi there…thank you for this video..very helpful, and it did turn out great! Not sure if I missed it, however what wattage is your laser? I have a 20W, so would have to adjust the settings accordingly.
Wow that come out amazing can I ask what Is it glass or plastic mirror What speed and power did you run it at because I did want one it didn't come at that well
You should specify what laser you are using along with the wattage and your settings in the description for each project to save your viewers the aggrevation of searching for it. Thanks, keep up the craft videos!
Hi. Unfortunately I don’t make those for sale, but there are a lot of vendors on ETSY that custom make and sell some really good ones. They cost around $200.
I noticed that image-r was set to 300 lpi, but when you put the image into lightburn the layer was set to 254 lpi and pass through. What happens when the lpi of your image doesn't match the lpi of your layer when using pass through mode? It hurts my brain... Thanks for the video. I enjoy engraving mirrors!
Sorry for the late response. Lightburn does it’s own auto for images. As long as you prepared the image the way you want, whatever lightburn does won’t affect the dpi much
I’m trying to engrave an image on wood, but when I start it generates this error message and stops: G-code words consist of a letter and a value. The letter was not found. Can someone help me???
Tried this out, but had a couple hiccups. I used your settings and same mirror glass from lowes, however when mine finished, there was still a layer or the reddish orange paint layer underneath the gray layer and light wouldn’t come thru. I ended up getting the orange layer off with lacquer thinner without affecting the overall design and light comes thru now. Have you had this happen before?
@@laserrookie I have learned that some mirrors use a plastic type membrane to hold the mirror glass to together rather than making a lot of skinny shards if the glass was comprised as in breaking. That could be the issue.😁🛫
Sorry for the late response. I have been quite busy. You can download the version of lightburn here lightburnsoftware.com/pages/trial-version-try-before-you-buy
I think she may have been asking did you clean the face of the mirror prior to etching, and not so much of did you clean the back! Of course you did after you etched the image. 😁🛫
I followed your work through and the print was looking amazing until it just stopped halfway through. It showed no errors or anything, the time was still running, but the laser just stop moving. Anybody have this issue before? Solutions?
I discovered my computer was updating and that caused my burn to stop. I then instructed the computer to update only in the early morning when not being used.
More likely the sleep setting in your computer paused the output of the computer sense the CPU ( Processor) did not see any inputs such as key strokes of mouse movement. I ran in to this with MS Flight Simulator if the airplane was on autopilot for an extended time based on the setting of sleep mode or hibernation settings.😁🛫
Thanks. That was straightforward and helpful. I will put this information to use. 👍🏾
Thank you for watching. I am glad the video is helpful.
Great video, thank you. It was awesome that you took us through the whole procedure that you use to engrave this project.
No problem. Thank you for watching
Thank you for the detailed procedure. Just getting started with my D1 so it’s great to see every step in real time!
So cool. I just received my laser today and you have just made my day. Looking forward to doing what you have created. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching. Good luck with your future projects.

OMG, your work is amazing! Thank you for sharing this!
Hey, do you have the photo or image to share of the lion? I tried on a piece of glass and it didn't come out as expected
That’s is awesome!! Great job
Wowwww.. Man.. You are good at it.. Thanks for Sharing..

How long did this project take?
That is an all other level ,it's beautiful, good job.

you are probably using mm/m, that's minute while he is using mm/s. If you set there 3000 mm/min you will have the same speed. assumption from my end
@@_JustBeingCasual LOL, I am new and just realized there is mm/m and mm/s.

Ok. Let’s start with your settings. Are you using millimeters per second?
Great, question have you done any in wood?
That came out great nice work
That is beautiful can't wait to see more.

@@laserrookie ♥️ Merci!
Amazing burn 🔥
Thank you 🙏🏾
Wow that come out amazing can I ask what Is it glass or plastic mirror What speed and power did you run it at because I did want one it didn't come at that well
David. I set it to 50 speed and 60 power. Turn off the air assist and enable pass through mode if you used Imagr to process your image.
Have you tried painting the back white after engraving?
I haven’t. But now that you mention it, I want to try it😂
i like this a lot and i'm now gonna give it a go 👍👍
Nice. Go for it! 🔥
Great technique., Very interesting . i will try it out.
Outstanding video thank you for sharing 🤣🛫
Thank you 🙏🏾
Great video! Is this the 5 - 7.5 watt, or 10 watt D1? Thanks!
Hi it’s the 10 watt D1
You should specify what laser you are using along with the wattage and your settings in the description for each project to save your viewers the aggrevation of searching for it. Thanks, keep up the craft videos!
Is that a D1 Pro 20W?
Did You buy this mirror with black reverse or You painted them in black?
They came with the coating on the back
Hi do you make enclosures as I would love to buy the xtool but need to use it inside. How much would you charge?
Hi. Unfortunately I don’t make those for sale, but there are a lot of vendors on ETSY that custom make and sell some really good ones. They cost around $200.
Hey, Great Video! How Long did That mirror take to engrave? Curious to know how fast the xtool d1 can make such an Artwork
This piece too about an hour and half.
Can't you process the image in lightburn also.
Where can I find the file you have for mirror-test-grid?

Haha Nice! One Backlit shadowbox video coming soon.

That’s interesting. Never have, but I think your brand of mirror may be different from mine.

Did you clean it off in the front or the back
The back
I think she may have been asking did you clean the face of the mirror prior to etching, and not so much of did you clean the back! Of course you did after you etched the image. 😁🛫
Good job!
I noticed as soon as you clocked pass thru it changed from stucki to thresh hold,????/
^clicked on
Amazing bro
Thanks
Why not flip the mirror so the reflection part is to the LED side to increase the light power???
You risk reflecting the laser beam back at the diode that is generating the beam and this could damage your laser. 😁🛫
Have you notice any banding in your mirror work??
No I haven’t run into that problem yet. What kind of software are you using?
What watt was your machine?
My machine is the 10watt
I followed your work through and the print was looking amazing until it just stopped halfway through. It showed no errors or anything, the time was still running, but the laser just stop moving. Anybody have this issue before? Solutions?
I haven’t run into this before, but check the D1 Facebook group and the wonderful community members will have an answer for you

Could be laser needed to pause and cool down, my Atomstack 5w has done that.

What kind of mirror?
12 by 12 mirror from lowes. Get the absolute cheap ones
@@laserrookie thanks I was able to get some 8x8 mirrors from Amazon a 12 pack for like 40? I think
@@Monztuh I just bought the 12 X 12 at Lowe’s for $14.99 the plain edge not the beveled edge, I think those were $15.99😁🛫

Why didn't you need to mirror the image?
Imag-R did that for him. It is in the video. 🤯🛫
Very nice. But I can't believe you treat Woody like that.
Lol. That toothbrush ran its course
